Our promise to you: no frou frou and no girly gimics, just real products with real benefits for real performance, designed by other women cyclists to make cycling more fun.

For almost 30 years, we’ve been listening to you, your gripes, your needs, your “if only they could make it…” and “all I want is…” requests and turning them into products that make a difference, that make riding more enjoyable and more comfortable and keep you on your bikes.

Cannondale was one of the first cycling brands to produce products specifically for the needs of women cyclists. What began as a couple of garments in the early-80s quickly gained recognition under the guidance of our women designers who knew that there had to be a better option than settling for ill-fitting men’s clothing.

Fast forward to 2011. We’ve taken the time to find what works best for you. We constantly listen to our focus groups whether formal sit downs or the lunch-time two-wheeled variety. We test hundreds of products and components. We work closely with our engineers. We strive for better fit because the result for you is better comfort and performance.

We are a team of experienced female cyclists who understand the challenges of giving women the cycling products they not only need, but truly want. Whether cruising out of the driveway, rolling up to the line at the local crit or launching your first air in the bike park, you know we’ve got you covered.

Our 40th anniversary brings even more tasty goodies to our Women’s line: the industry leading light weight full suspension Lexi bike and the revolutionary 150 mm travel Scarlet; the SuperSix and Slice carbon road bikes and also bikes for city and urban riding. All designed for you. All packaged with kickass new graphics to keep you inspired and turning heads wherever the road or trail leads you.

Our goal: Knowing that when you buy a Cannondale Women’s bike, you have everything you need and nothing that you don’t.

Each of our bikes is uniquely Cannondale: high performance, cutting edge, best-in-class and never dumbed down; designed to motivate you and inspire you because, above all, we believe that cycling should be fun, exhilarating, empowering and freeing.

Apologies to Scarlett O’Hara, but the days of Gone with the Wind are over. Women are going bigger, riding longer, and charging harder than ever, and yet our competitors continue to offer up only shorter travel, warmed-over cross country platforms as their women’s trail bikes. Well, having sponsored the two most dominant names in the history of women’s downhill racing, Cannondale knows that women can shred.

For those women who’ve been waiting for the bike that will take their trail riding to the next level, your wait is over. We proudly introduce the new Scarlet; a split personality long travel trail rig built for women who rip.

The uLTimaTe TraiL bike More travel is more fun until you don’t want all that travel. If you’ve ever wished you could ride a short travel bike up the climb, then have your magic bike caddy waiting at the summit with your long travel bike ready to charge the descent, look no further. With the cool new dual mode shock technology of the Cannondale Scarlet, you don’t have to choose. Climb like you’re on an XC bike; descend like you’re on a Big mountain rig. Grimace less, smile more.

Built around Cannondale’s radical new dual mode shock technology, the DYaD rT2, engineered and manufactured by FOX racing Shox in collaboration with Cannondale, Scarlet essentially delivers two different bikes in one.

A handlebar lever toggles between a lower volume cross country air shock for rolling and climbing terrain, and a high volume linear air shock for aggressive descents. Switching between the modes also alters the bike’s geometry, appropriately changing the handling and keeping the rider in the proper position for the terrain.

Cutting edge aluminum technology and sophisticated suspension design create a super light, stable, solid feeling bike that’s effortless to flick through the turns, grin-inducing on the climbs, and euphoric on the descents. No other bike on the market can deliver such no-compromise performance across the whole range of mountain terrain. Scarlet. Adjust your attitude.

rear ShOck TechnOLOgY

1. DyAD rT2 ShockThe new DYaD shock represents a game-changing advance in rear suspension technology. This is the first shock that provides two completely different shock options in one package – the elevate and Flow settings. Two totally different air spring

volumes, two completely separate damping circuits with separate compression damping settings and separate rebound adjustments. It is fundamentally like having two different shocks available to you at the flick of a switch.

In the 150 mm Flow setting, the shock’s L.A.S. (linear airspring technology) provides a spring rate that is virtually identical to a coil spring and mates it with speed sensitive damping circuits tuned for maximum descending performance. In the 90 mm elevate setting, the air spring volume is reduced, providing a firm, progressive spring rate, mated to damping circuits optimized for trail riding and climbing performance.

2. Attitude AdjustAttacking steep climbs requires a different attitude than charging aggressive descents is pretty obvious, but “Attitude” is also an aircraft term that refers to the angle of a craft relative to the horizon. Switching between the DYaD shock’s two settings radically alters Scarlet’s geometry and “attitude”: low and stable for flowing descents, steep and forward for efficient climbing.

DYaD’s dual modes counteract the inability of traditional shocks to account for changes in rider position and bike geometry when climbing. As the terrain points up, the bike and rider’s center of mass shifts rearward, compressing the shock and increasing the sag, forcing the rider to hunch forward to keep the front wheel weighted. The DYaD’s elevate setting reduces the sag, raising the BB, making the steering angle steeper, and keeping the rider in a position that more closely mimics their position on the flats.

3. PullShock DesignThe pull shock design of the Scarlet places the shock’s mass just above the BB keeping the bikes center of gravity low and centered and making the bike both extremely stable and supremely flickable. It also equalizes forces and concentrates stresses in the super strong BB node.

Frame TechnOLOgY

4. Designed To ripThe Scarlet features smaller sizing and almost a full inch more standover than the Jekyll for confidence on the sketchy stuff.

5. SmartFormed Tubing Septuple-butted, heat-treated 6000 series aluminum. The down tube alone has seven different wall thicknesses, created by butting the tube along its length, then mechanically shaping the tube, then hydro-forming it into the final shape. Labor intensive and difficult, it shows Cannondale’s continued mastery of the aluminum arts.

6. Box Section ConstructionTo maximize strength and stiffness while reducing weight in crucial high-load areas, the BB node, shock link and seat stay bridge are hollow, box-section construction.

Scarlet has split personalities – and that’s a very good thing.

The two halves of each piece are forged, precision-machined, welded together and heat-treated, forming extremely stiff, strong and light structures. Difficult, costly, and time consuming, it is details like this that make Scarlet truly exceptional.

7. ECS-TC (Enhanced Center Stiffness-Torsion Control) SystemScarlet’s shock linkage uses thru axles which are clamped on both sides, effectively tying the two sides together and dramatically increasing the system stiffness. Ultra-wide bearing placement, double bearings at rear dropouts and a unique linkage-bearing preload system eliminates freeplay in the rear suspension, improving center-stiffness and enhancing control.

8. X-12 Thru AxleAnother example of our System integration philosophy, the X-12 thru axle and dropout system provides the stiffness of a 12 mm thru axle with the quick wheel changes and ease of use of a quick-release wheel. The two-sided derailleur hanger is much stiffer and stronger than traditional single-sided hangers.

9. uninterrupted Seat TubeForget interrupted seat tube designs; a full seat tube provides the maximum possible structural strength and allows for full seatpost height adjustment.

10. Clashnikov Top Tube The Clashnikov top tube, with its distinctive vertically tapered seat tube yoke and massive diameter at the head tube delivers tremendous stiffness and strength to the top tube/seat tube and top tube/head tube junctions, while its ultra low standover height permits maximum maneuverability.

11. 1.5" Si head TubeSometimes bigger really is better. Cannondale’s trademark 1.5" Si head tube provides exceptional stiffness for precise handling and burly, confidence-inspiring strength. The 1.5" steerers are significantly lighter, stiffer and stronger than tapered steerers.

12. Full-Sized WaterbottleThe open front triangle, wide shock-link bearings and sculpted link allows the use of a full-sized waterbottle, perfect for short rides or extra capacity for full day epics.

LEXI

Lexi, the sister of the rZ One Twenty, is System Integration at its finest: A simple yet extremely refined single pivot suspension design that incorporates women’s specific geometry and frame features, like size-specific shock placement and reduced standover to deliver the ultimate women’s bike for marathon racing and all day riding.

Special attention has been paid to rider position on the Lexi to avoid the dining chair feel and sluggish response of competitors’ offerings. The result is a balanced geometry and neutral riding position, the optimum between aggressive racing and a relaxed all mountain position. Because comfort and control translate into greater enjoyment and performance.

Our weight savings, which begin with the frame and continue with the ultra light single-bladed Lefty suspension fork, allow you to put all your energies into pedaling fast rather than muscling your bike around.

TechnOLOgY

1. Designed By Women For WomenWhen it comes to riding, we design bikes that take a woman’s physique into account. What does this mean? It means we offer bikes with geometry and components made for women including a shorter top tube for our shorter reach, a lower standover height, brake levers and controls closer to our hands, and wider saddles.

Attention to details translates into comfort, efficiency, energy-saving, increased fun and ultimately more time on your bike, which is what, we think, it’s all about.

The goal is better fit. The result is better comfort and performance.

2. Staged TravelSpecifically customized shocks are paired with a precisely engineered swing link to deliver 120 mm of staged travel – plush in the early part of the stroke, more linear through the middle for efficient pedaling and smooth action, and firm at the end to prevent bottoming.

3. Size-Specific Linkage Suspension is a tricky thing. Subtle changes can have a big impact on the system’s performance. So rather than simply repositioning our shock mounts lower to gain the standover needed on smaller frames, we created an entirely different linkage so that the smaller frames maintain the leverage ratios and shock performance of the larger frames.

4. Weight Saving Lefty Cannondale’s super-rigid, single-bladed Lefty gives 120 mm of stiction-free travel and considerable weight savings so that you can focus your energies into nimble pedaling rather than muscling your bike around.

5. System IntegrationTrue to Cannondale’s philosophy of the ride being more than the sum of the parts, the Lexi combines the benefits of some of our leading technologies: Lefty front suspension, Opi backbone, asymmetric swingarm and bb30 bottom bracket.

6. Down Tube Waterbottle On All SizesUncluttered and open front triangle design leaves room for a waterbottle within hands reach on all sizes.

Light, elegant, refined, yet loves to get dirty.

WOMEN’S FuLL SuSPENSION

7. OPI BackBoneWith Cannondale’s One piece integration approach, we create lighter, stiffer, stronger parts by combining multiple pieces into a single unit. Lexi’s backbone, the seat tube, BB shell and swingarm pivot are 3D forged as a single piece, eliminating excess material, and providing uniform grain alignment throughout for extreme strength in this crucial area.

8. Superb handlingThe geometry splits the difference between our more aggressive Scarlet and racy Flash. Quick enough for technical trail riding, stable enough to keep you out of trouble when dropping that sketchy section at the end of an all day epic.

9. Cannondale AluminumWhether it’s our trademark double pass smooth welds or the sophisticated butting and shaping of the tubes, the Lexi is a showcase of Cannondale’s years of aluminum

mastery.

10. 1.5" Si head TubeOur ultra strong 1.5" Si head tube features integrated bearings, eliminating the weight of headset cups and allowing full System integration with the unbeatable Lefty or standard 1.5" steerer forks. 1.5" steerers are lighter, stiffer and stronger than tapered steerers.

11. BB30 SystemThe soul of System Integration, the Cannondale-pioneered BB30 standard is found on all Lexis.

FLASh WOMEN’S

Oh you know the feeling, you’re living proof. You love to roll the light weight of a hardtail right by someone ploughing around on an all-too-heavy rig. You just chick’d someone last week. Unencumbered. With a smile on your face and a polite “Hey, nice ride”. Then you were gone.

In our almost 30 years of aluminum crafting we’ve made some light bikes. We’ve whittled away at our tubing design constantly trying to make a better bike that delivers a better ride. The 2011 Flash women’s alloy is proof that we never rest on our laurels: we’ve optimized tubing, geometry and sizing to bring a lighter bike to market that covers a wider range of riders sizes and needs yet still delivers unmatchable ride quality and performance. The best alloy hardtail just got even better.

1. Sincere ImitationFlash women’s is our highly successful Flash carbon rendered in 6061 aluminum with special attention to the details, geometry, spec’ and livery that female athletes need.

2. redesigned, Lighter Weight For 2011 Flash has already set the bar for light weight in hardtails and yet for 2011, through optimizing the tubeset, we’ve managed to shave an additional 60 g from the frame.

3. Better Sizing And GeometryThree of the four Flash women’s sizes have been redesigned to optimize sizing and geometry, including a total redesign on the size P frame for increased standover clearance. Flash now offers a more comprehensive size range that allows you to fit a more diverse selection of women.

4. Designed By Women For WomenWhen it comes to riding, we design bikes that take a woman’s physique into account.

What does this mean? It means we offer bikes with female specific geometry to account for shorter torsos and longer legs. This translates into a shorter top tube for our shorter reach, brake levers and controls closer to our hands, and a wide ergonomic saddle, to name a few.

5. Stylishly Shaped Aluminum Flash women’s 6061 tubing is the cutting edge in aluminum crafting allowing shaping and oversizing at the more stressed areas of the frame to increase strength, rigidity and torsional resistance. Combined with heat-treating to a T6 hardness for strength and durability.

6. Smooth Welds Where other manufacturers patch welds with putty and paint, a Cannondale weld is a true smooth weld. Cannondale’s trademark double-pass smooth weld technology eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally welded frames, enabling us to build lighter, stronger frames.

7. SAVE rear Stays Optimized chain stay and seat stay shaping provides lateral rigidity while providing vertical compliance for bump absorption and comfort with no loss in power transfer and minimal rear wheel traction loss.

8. Effortless Wheel removal A headShok fork up front delivers stiction-free, light weight performance while offering quick and easy wheel removal for stashing in the car or for flat repair.

9. 1.5" Si head Tube Our ultra light, ultra strong 1.5" Si head tube features integrated bearings, eliminating the weight of headset cups.

TrAIL SL WOMEN’S / TrAIL WOMEN’S

The Trail and Trail SL may be the least expensive bikes in our women’s mountain lineup, but they might just be the most important. Likely to be a first “nice” bike purchase, Cannondale understands that first impressions are crucial.

We know that a woman’s first few experiences out on the trail can spell the difference between a one-time buyer and a life-long cyclist, so we ensure that our bikes offer a refined geometry and exceptional component selection that allow riders to focus on enjoying the ride.

With features and technology derived from its upper end sibling, the Flash, the Trail series is perfect for turning new riders into cyclists.

TechnOLOgY

1. Designed By Women For WomenWhen it comes to riding, we design bikes that take a woman’s physique into account. What does this mean? It means we offer bikes with female specific geometry to account for shorter torsos and longer legs. This translates into: a shorter top tube for our shorter reach, brake levers and controls closer to our hands, and a wide ergonomic saddle, to name a few.

2. Stylishly Shaped AluminumTrail and Trail SL’s 6061 aluminum tubing is crafted with mechanical forming technology which allows complex shaping and oversizing at the more stressed areas of

the frame. The result is increased strength and remarkable weight savings that make for a lightweight, super enjoyable ride. The SL version benefits from refined butting that saves almost 200 g.

3. True Smooth WeldsWhere other manufacturers patch welds with putty and paint, a Cannondale weld is a true smooth weld. Cannondale’s trademark double-pass smooth weld technology eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally welded frames, enabling us to build lighter, stronger frames.

4. 1.5" head TubeExternally machined 1.5" head tube provides a lighter stiffer front end for point-and-shoot steering. (Trail has a standard 1-1/8" head tube).

5. SAVE StaysComfort is crucial. Optimized chain stay and seat stay shaping provides lateral rigidity while providing vertical compliance for bump absorption and comfort with no loss in power transfer.

SuPErSIX WOMEN’S

WOMEN’S ELITE rOAD

We proudly salute elite women racers everywhere. Our Women’s SuperSix is our way of giving props to those who flew the flag for us in the past – like Connie Carpenter, Marie Holden, Linda Jackson and Kristin Armstrong. We also look to the future to those who are just discovering the joy and challenge of competitive or high performance riding.

Our women’s SuperSix contains all the carbon technology and performance of the SuperSix you know and love, but with geometry, fit and component specifications specifically for women.

With our SuperSix, we’re stepping up to the plate and providing women cyclists with the high performance, super lightweight, properly fitting, ass-kicking bikes that they’ve always wanted.

TechnOLOgY

1. Designed By Women For WomenWhen it comes to riding, we design bikes that take a woman’s physique into account. What does this mean? It means we offer bikes with female specific geometry to account for shorter torsos and longer legs. This translates into a shorter top tube for our shorter reach, a taller head tube to balance proportionately taller seat height, and a fork rake which minimizes toe overlap, to name a few.

2. Comfort Is PerformanceNarrower bars, brake levers and controls closer to our hands and wider saddles are just some of the specific component changes we make on our Women’s bikes. Attention to details translates into comfort, efficiency, energy saving, increased fun and ultimately more time on your bike, which is what it’s all about. The goal is better fit. The result is better comfort and performance.

3. Light and StiffExtremely lightweight (950 g) with great lateral and torsional stiffness but with an incredible road feel and liveliness often lost in carbon frames.

4. Monocoque Front Triangle With Optimized Carbon LayupThe seat stay and chain stay assemblies are each molded as a single piece with precise radius-matched interfaces for the main triangle. Precise radius matching allows for maximum contact and support with the mating surface.

5. Co-CuredFront triangle, stay assemblies and size-specific alloy-faced full carbon dropouts, are joined by co-curing/carbon overwrapping: layers of carbon fiber are placed around the joint according to a precise layup schedule designed to maximize strength and stiffness. More complex and expensive but lighter, stiffer and stronger than lugged or internal lugged junctions found on many other carbon frames.

6. BeatBoxMassively oversized beatbox BB area delivers torsional rigidity needed to turn the twisting loads from the cranks into forward momentum.

7. Asymmetric Chain StaysThe drive side chain stay is oversized and shaped to resist the axial loads of the drivetrain, while the non-drive side is engineered for rigidity and greater weight saving.

Beating the boys never looked so good.

8. Deep radius head TubeDeep radius head tube and 1-1/8" to 1-1/2" tapered carbon steerer fork provide maximum torsional stiffness for precise steering and wicked sprinting.

9. Oversized Down TubeOversized down tube is round where it meets the BB for maximum torsional stiffness.

10. Ovalized Top TubeLaterally ovalized top tube for increased rigidity while cornering and sprinting.

11. BB30 On All SuperSixOur patented oversized BB30 on all SuperSix bikes.

CAAD10 WOMEN’S

When Cannondale introduced a women’s version of their world beating CAAD9 road frame last year, women were stoked. Whether it was the hard-core crit racer mixing it up with the boys on the weekly group rides, or the enthusiast rider looking for something light and smooth without the carbon price tag, the CAAD9 showed legions of women just how good aluminum road frames can be. For those riders, we proudly introduce the next evolution of the state of the art, the caaD10.

For smaller riders, having a light bike can really make a huge difference. Weighing in at an unbelievable 1020 grams for a 48 cm frame, complete with hardware, the caaD10 is not only the lightest aluminum road frame ever created, it’s lighter than most of our competitors’ elite carbon frames. For reference, that’s almost a full half pound (200 g) lighter than the legendary CAAD9!

Ride quality is crucial for smaller, lighter riders as well. As any women who’s suffered over rough roads on some ultra-stiff “high-performance” frame knows, the appeal of an efficient bike quickly dims if you have to waste all your energy fighting being bounced around. The simple, elegant and incredibly effective Save vibration elimination rear stays of the caaD10 work constantly to absorb shock and vibration, keeping the rider rested and in control. Cannondale’s trademark sophisticated tubing manipulation, double-pass smooth welds and BB30 System Integration demonstrate our continued mastery of the art of aluminum frame making, once again setting the standard for the industry. Bottom line: If you’re looking for an aluminum frame that puts most carbon frames to shame, the caaD10 is the answer. Forget about diamonds, caaD10 is a woman’s best friend.

caaD10 Frame TechnOLOgY

1. Designed By Women For WomenWhen it comes to riding, we design bikes that take a woman’s physique into account. What does this mean? It means we offer bikes with female specific geometry to account for shorter torsos and longer legs. This translates into a shorter top tube

for our shorter reach, a taller head tube to balance proportionately taller seat height, and a fork rake which minimizes toe overlap, to name a few.

3. Oversized Shaped Down Tube The oversized round down tube flares to meet the head tube for maximum stiffness.

4. Shaped Top TubeThe massive, horizontally ovalized top tube measures a huge 47.5 x 42 mm where it meets the head tube, narrows through the middle for knee clearance, then widens again to meet the seat stays.

5. SAVE StaysThe chain stays and seat stays are shaped and butted to allow them to flex vertically but stay extremely stiff laterally. The wide spacing of the seat stays where they meet the top tube improves lateral stiffness.

6. hollow Forged Brake Bridge Light and stiff, little details like this really add up.

7. Asymmetric Chain Stays The driveside chain stay is oversized to better resist the loads from the drivetrain, while the non-drive stay is optimized for weight savings.

Performance to the power of X(X).

8. Delta Seat TubeThe 27.2 compatible seat tube is laterally ovalized at the BB for great BB stiffness.

9. Tapered head TubeThe externally machined, oversized head tube houses a 1-1/8" to 1-1/4" tapered carbon steerer fork.

10. CAAD10 Carbon ForkThe 1-1/8" to 1-1/4" tapered carbon steerer is lighter than 1.5" tapered forks and stiffer than 1-1/8" forks. The 300 gram caaD10 fork also features offset dropouts, allowing more fork angle for vertical compliance without affecting the handling.

11. Smooth WeldsA true smooth weld, rather than the sand, putty, and paint “smooth welds” of our competition, Cannondale’s trademark double-pass smooth weld technology

eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally welded frames, enabling us to build lighter, stronger frames.

12. Taper-Butted TubesLike the legendary CAAD frames of the past, the caaD10 features 6069 aluminum which has been taper-butted and heat-treated to a T6 hardness. The smooth transitions provided by taper-butting eliminate the internal stress risers of traditionally butted frames, again allowing a lighter, stronger frame.

13. BB30 SystemBB30 is the epitome of System integration. Cannondale invented the BB30 standard 10 years ago to take crank and frame performance to the next level.

SLICE WOMEN’S

WOMEN’S TrIAThLON / TIME TrIAL

The record breaking Slice line gets even better with a new smaller size frame and components custom picked for the needs of female athletes.

In last year’s Ironman World Championship, mirinda carfrae, a Kona rookie ripped her Slice down the Queen K. Carfrae set off on the run, to the consternation of all, at a 6:30 minute mile pace. As experienced onlookers waited for the expected implosion, Rinny picked her opponents off one-by-one on her way to 2nd place and a 2:56:51 run course record. She said that the smooth ride and light weight of her Slice not only improved her bike splits, but left her feeling fresher for the run as well. And at 5 feet and 2.8 inches, Rinny towered over the competition with her Slice.

Women have always been fast on our Slice bike, just look at chrissie wellington’s Hawaii Ironman Bike Record. But now with extending our size range down to a 650c wheel size, 47 cm frame, no one needs to compromise in the quest for multisport or time trial speed.

You talked. We listened. Geometry, design and components are infinitesimally analyzed for optimal fit, comfort and performance. For our new 47 cm Slice frame, we used 650c wheels which are more appropriate for smaller frame geometries and rider physique while also increasing weight saving and overall aerodynamics.

TechnOLOgY

1. Designed For Women By WomenWhen it comes to riding we design bikes that take a woman’s different proportions into account. What does this mean? It means we offer bikes with appropriate geometry and custom selected componentry to ensure correct fit, comfort and performance.

2. AerodynamicAn ultra narrow frontal area and wind tunnel-proven tube shapes make the Slice one of the most aerodynamic frames ever tested by Tour magazine.

3. Aero Isn’t EnoughAn aerodynamic frame or bike isn’t fast unless a rider can comfortably and consistently stay in the racing position, can be protected from fatigue-producing road vibration and can depend on reliable and precise handling.

4. SAVE Micro-Suspension SystemCannondale’s designers know that all the aerodynamics in the world aren’t worth a thing if you can’t maintain the aero position, or if the ride leaves you so beat up that you can’t put out your best on the run. At the heart of the Slice’s remarkable comfort is the Save micro-suspension system. An elegant combination of directional tube shaping and extremely sophisticated carbon layup, the Save system allows the rear chain stays and seat stays to deflect together vertically to absorb road shock, while staying extremely stiff laterally and torsionally.

5. Lighter WeightPerhaps more important for women, as one of the lightest frames on the market, Slice’s nimble light weight allows you to put all your energy into pedaling fast rather than muscling your bike.

6. Stable GeometryUnlike the nervous, twitchy handling of some aero frames, the Slice’s geometry is designed to provide stable and confidence-inspiring handling while in the aero position, allowing you to relax and focus on your ride.

The best multisport bike in the world. In your size.

7. 650c Wheels650c wheels are the perfect fit for our size 47 frame. Offering easier acceleration, weight saving and less toe overlap, they also produce a bike with a lower rider profile for increased aerodynamics.

8. BB30 SystemCannondale-developed bb30 technology allows riders to use the lightest and stiffest cranksets on the market. bb30 technology reduces Q-factor for a narrower frontal area and improved aerodynamics and also features ceramic BB bearings for reduced rolling resistance.

SyNAPSE WOMEN’S

WOMEN’S PErFOrMANCE rOAD

It’s not by chance that Synapse Women’s is our top-selling women’s bike: this award-winning combination of carbon crafting for light weight and stiffness and insightful geometry and component choice for ride-all-day comfort has produced a bike that can be a work horse commuter during the week and a personal-best-producing rocketship come the weekend.

Nominated for Best Women’s Performance Bike (2009) and winner of Bicycling Editor’s Choice award for Best Plush Bike in 2010, the Synapse was described as having “quick acceleration,” “nimble, confidence-inspiring” handling with “peppy” attitude towards climbs yet a “more forgiving” ride. This coupled with “its stability, even in gusty crosswinds” were just a few of the many characteristics that testers liked.

The Synapse is designed for everything from charity rides with friends to the occasional, rough-road race.

TechnOLOgY

2. Comfort Is PerformanceNarrower bars, brake levers and controls closer to our hands, and wider saddles are just some of the specific component changes we make on our Women’s bikes. Attention to details translates into comfort, efficiency, energy saving, increased fun and ultimately more time on your bike, which is what it’s all about. The goal is better fit. The result is better comfort and performance.

3. Performance GeometryCompared with our Elite race geometry, the Synapse geometry features a taller head tube (2-2.5 cm taller) gently sloping top tube, slightly relaxed head angle and longer wheelbase. This combination provides a more upright riding position and a lively, yet stable feel. It’s confidence inspiring and relaxing but avoids the sluggish feel and awkward handling of many “comfort” road bikes.

4. Light And StiffExtremely light weight (990 g for the hi-mOD), with great lateral and torsional stiffness.

5. Monocoque Front TriangleMonocoque front triangle with optimized carbon layup, rear stays and size-specific alloy-faced full carbon dropouts are joined by co-curing/carbon overwrapping. A more complex and expensive process, co-curing creates lighter, stiffer and stronger structures than the lugged or internal lugged junctions found on many other carbon frames.

6. SAVE rear Stay Micro-Suspension SystemBy flattening and shaping the chain stays and seat stays and carefully manipulating the carbon layup, we create a rear stay assembly that allows significant deflection vertically to absorb road shock and vibration, while staying extremely rigid laterally for power transfer and confident cornering. Complicated and technically demanding to design and build, the resulting system is elegantly simple and doesn’t require the additional weight of bumpers or inserts.

7. Full Carbon ForkFull carbon fork from steerer to dropouts, with integrated Save features.

Performance meet comfort. release your inner rider.

8. BB30Over 10 years ago we took a bike component that had not changed for years, the bottom bracket, and redesigned it. Oversized and stiffer, simpler and lighter and above all higher performance, the result was our bb30 bottom bracket system. We felt that it was such a quantum advance that we relinquished our patent and shared it with other bike manufacturers. bb30 has since become the leading high-performance bottom bracket design and is available on all carbon Synapses.

9. Full Carbon SAVE SeatpostFeatures one-piece layup with continuous fibers that extend up the post and surround the seatpost clamp. Designed to deflect slightly to absorb shock without detracting from performance.

WOMEN’S rECrEATION

Quick is on a quest to share around the fun: to prove that flat bar bikes can be as stylish and high performance as their drop bar, hard core racing cousins. Nimble and responsive with a reassuring heads up flat bar style, Quick is a gorgeous expression of speed in a luxurious wrapping of sheer good looks that was recently highlighted by the style arbiters at Wired magazine.

Packed with multiple performance and comfort features like Save vibration damping and carbon bladed forks, Quick is the perfect entry into the two-wheeled world whether you’re tempted by the lure of commuting, that long promised charity ride or a late summer women’s only triathlon with friends.

TechnOLOgY

1. Flat Bars ruleQuick proves that freedom, style and performance aren’t exclusive to the drop bar crowd. The Quick offers great handling and upright comfort without sacrificing great looks and ride-all-day performance.

2. Better Size representationAll new size P frame features a shorter seat tube for increased standover clearance, producing more comprehensive sizing that caters to a larger range of rider needs.

4. Comfort Is PerformanceUnintimidating flat bars, brake levers and controls closer to our hands and wider saddles are just some of the specific component changes we make on our Quick women’s bikes. Attention to details translates into comfort, efficiency, energy saving, increased fun and ultimately more time on your bike, which is what it’s all about. The goal is better fit. The result is better comfort and performance.

5. Carbon Or AlloyQuick comes in a choice of frame materials: Cannondale’s proprietary carbon layup delivers light weight performance and tube shaping and styling for design savvy speedsters everywhere while Quick alloy showcases our almost 30 years of aluminum craftsmanship.

6. Super Light Weight1300 g* rigid frame, unheard of in a city bike, provides lightweight, nimble, responsive handling while Save vibration damping features ensure comfort and predictable handling on rough city streets.

7. Alloy redesignRedesigned for 2011, Quick 1, 2 and 3 now feature ultra refined aluminum seatstays which, counter to common perception, actually dropped weight and improved comfort compared to the old carbon ones.

8. SAVE Chain StaysOptimized chain stay shaping provides lateral rigidity while providing vertical compliance for bump absorption and comfort with no loss in power transfer.

quick: It’s your time.

Page 69: 2011 Cannondale Womens

9. Smooth WeldsAlloy models feature true smooth welds, rather than the sand, putty, and paint “smooth welds” of our competition. Cannondale’s trademark double-pass smooth weld technology eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally welded frames, enabling us to build lighter, stronger frames.

10. BB30 System On Carbon ModelsDesigned by Cannondale 10 years ago, the ultra lightweight, ultra stiff bb30 bottom bracket system has become an industry standard for power transfer, light weight and performance.

11. Carbon Bladed Forks Carbon bladed forks on most models maximize weight saving while providing vibration damping to take the edge off city riding.

12. rack And Fender ready Quick alloy models are rack and fender ready for the challenges and demands of city riding.

Just add a handlebar basket and this bike is ready for cruises through the park for picnics, quick errands and spirit-rousing jaunts with friends. adventure is not about speed or lycra, it’s about stopping at the Waffle Truck on the East Side, picking up flowers or fresh bread at the farmers market or a spin across town to check out the cherry blossoms. adventure is about exploring your neighborhood and getting to know your city. It’s about getting out there and putting a smile on your face. What’s your adventure?

TechnOLOgY

1. Designed By Women For WomenWhen it comes to riding, we design bikes that take a woman’s physique into account. What does this mean? It means we offer bikes with female specific geometry to account for shorter torsos and longer legs. This translates into: a shorter top tube for our shorter reach, a taller head tube to balance proportionately taller seat height, and a step thru’ frame, to name a few.

3. reassuringly SimpleA Step Thru frame design, user-friendly twist-style shifters and internal hub gears keep things simple, streamlined and clean for confidence-inspiring cycling.

4. Comfort And LuxurySuspension fork, suspension seatpost absorb road vibration while luxurious touch-points like soft-grips, lightweight super plush saddles and soft-touch quick releases make this the Benz of the bike trail.

5. Tool-Free AdjustmentTool-free adjustment stem allows optimal fine tuning of riding position.

6. Stylishly Shaped Aluminumadventure’s mech formed 6061 aluminum tubing is the cutting edge in aluminum crafting for light weight and stiffness. Combined with heat-treating to a T6 hardness for strength and durability.

7. rack readyFor when your adventure takes you further from home, the frame is ready for a rear rack to carry your load.

8. New Adventure 26"New for 2011, adventure comes with all the same features and technologies but in a 26" wheel platform. Larger volume tires and a smaller wheel size give a comfy, confidence-inspiring ride.
