Richard M. Cangro, PhD,isanAssistantProfessorofMusicEducationatWesternIllinoisUniversity.AformerbandandorchestradirectorfromConnecticut,Dr.Cangroisactiveasapresenter,guestconductor,adjudicator,andguestteacherfordevelopingmusicianship.Hehaspresentedsessionsforseveralschooldistrictsandatnumerouslocal,state,andnationalmusiceducatorconferences.Withhisdissertationfocusingonapplyingcooperativelearningstrategiestoinstrumentalmusic learning, Dr. Cangro continues to investigate the nature and effects ofstudent interactionatall levelsofmusic learning.AtWIU,Dr.Cangro teachesgraduate and undergraduate courses in Music Education as well as directs theCommunityMusicSchool,coordinatesthegraduateprograminMusicEducation,supervisesstudentteachers,andadvisestheCMENCandASTAstudentchapters.Musically,Dr.CangroperformsontrumpetwiththeKnox-GalesburgSymphonyOrchestraandconductstheWIUyouthstringorchestra.

Dr. Kimberly D. Dodson
Dr. Kimberly D. Dodson received her PhD in Criminology from IndianaUniversityofPennsylvania.SheisanAssistantProfessorintheSchoolofLawEnforcement and JusticeAdministration. She has coauthored three books: twoexaminingcriminologicaltheoryandoneonpolicepractices.Shehaspublishedseveral journal articles and book chapters on criminological theory, minorityissues, correctional counseling and rehabilitation, constitutional rights ofprisoners, and special populations in prisons. She also serves as a manuscriptreviewer for several journals and publishers, including Victims and Offenders,The Prison Journal,Criminal Justice Policy Review,PeterLangPublishing,andElsevier/AndersonPublishing.Dr.Dodsonhaspresentedatnumerousregionalandnationalconferences,includingtheAmericanSocietyofCriminology,AcademyofCriminalJusticeSciences,andtheMidwesternCriminalJusticeAssociation.ShecurrentlyservesastheSecretaryoftheAcademyofCriminalJusticeSciencesMinorities and Women’s Section. She mentors graduate student research bybeingactivelyinvolvedintheCollegeofEducationandHumanServicesAnnualGraduateResearchSymposiumandhasservedas thechairofseveralgraduatetheses. In addition, she currently serves as the Chair of the LEJA CurriculumCommittee,theChairoftheQuadCitiesResearchandScholarshipSymposium,andasamemberofWIU’sInstitutionalReviewBoard.In2010,shewasthefirstrecipientoftheQuadCitiesProfessionalDevelopmentNetwork’s“ExcellenceinCollegeTeachingCertificate.”

Dr. Jennifer McNabb isanAssociateProfessoratWesternIllinoisUniversity,specializing inearlymodernEuropeanhistoryand thehistoryofEngland.ShejoinedtheDepartmentofHistoryatWIUin2005,followingthecompletionofherdoctoralprogramattheUniversityofColoradoatBoulder.Dr.McNabbwasawardedaUniversityHOPEAwardforTeaching,theCollegeofArtsandSciencesOutstandingFacultyAwardinTeachinginspring2009,andtheProvost’sAwardofExcellenceinTeachinginfall2009.Shehassupervised18successfulgraduateand undergraduate grant applications, three Honors theses, and one Master ofArtthesis.ShehasservedtheUniversitycommunityasamemberoftheHonorsCouncil,theUniversityResearchCouncil,theFacultySenate,andtheGraduateCouncil.SheisthefacultyadvisorfortheAssociatedStudentsofHistory,whichwontheCASOutstandingStudentOrganizationAwardin2009;andshewontheGreekAdvisoroftheYearawardinspring2010forherworkwiththeAlphaSigmaTausorority.HerscholarshipfocusesonthesocialimpactoftheReformationinTudorandStuartEnglandandstudiestheconsequencesofreligiousandpoliticalchangeonsuch institutionsasmarriage, family,andcommunity.She regularlypresents her research at regional, national, and international conferences,includingtheSixteenthCenturySocietyandConferenceandtheNorthAmericanConferenceonBritishStudies.HerresearchhasbeenpublishedinThe Sixteenth Century JournalandQuidditas,andhermostrecentpaperwontheDelnoC.WestAward for the most distinguished paper by a senior scholar at a joint meetingof regional organizations dedicated to Medieval and Renaissance history andliterature.SheisamemberoftheexecutiveboardoftheRockyMountainMedievalandRenaissanceAssociationandservesasassociateeditorofitsjournal.

Dr. Cynthia K. Piletic
Dr. Cynthia K. PileticisanAssociateProfessorintheDepartmentofKinesiologywith an earned PhD from Texas Woman’s University in the area of AdaptedPhysical Education. Her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor inSpecialEducationandMasterofScienceinPhysicalEducationwithanemphasisinAdapted Physical Education are fromWestern Illinois University. TeachingappointmentsincludeUniversityofWisconsin–Platteville,BallStateUniversity,andpreviouslyWesternIllinoisUniversity.Shehasauthoredarticlesfornationalpublications, including the ICHPER-SD Journal of Research, the Journal of Physical Education and Dance,theNational Strength and Conditioning Journal,the Athletic Therapy Today Journal, and the American Journal of Health and Fitness. She has published at the state level as well and co-authored positionstatementsfortheAmericanAllianceofHealth,PhysicalEducation,Recreation,andDance.Shehasbeenanactivepresenterattheinternationallevel,includingthe International Federation for Adapted Physical Activity. Her presentationsat national conferences include the American Alliance for Health, PhysicalEducation,Recreation,andDanceConference;theNorthAmericanFederationofAdaptedPhysicalActivityConference;theNationalPhysicalEducationTeacherEducatorsConference;andtheNationalConferenceonPhysicalActivityfortheExceptional Individual. Her grant awards total $124,000 for various researchprojectswithmajorfundingfromUIC/RERCRectec(RehabilitationEngineeringResearchCenteronRecreationalTechnologiesandExercisePhysiologyBenefitingIndividualswithDisabilities)andtheIllinoisDepartmentofPublicHealth.HerprofessionalserviceincludestheExecutiveBoardfortheNationalConsortiumforPhysicalEducationandRecreationforIndividualswithDisabilitiesasMemberat Large, Secretary, and Vice President; Critical Issues Committee within theAdapted PhysicalActivity Council nationally; and recently elected to serve asPresidentfortheIllinoisCoalitionforAdaptedPhysicalEducators.

Candace Winters-March earned an MFA in Dance from Arizona StateUniversity, and aBachelorofArts inDance fromSanDiegoStateUniversity.ProfessorWinters-MarchhasbeenteachingatWesternIllinoisUniversitysince1987.SheisadministratorfortheDanceminorprogramandadvisor/co-artisticdirectorforUniversityDanceTheatre.PriortoWIU,shewasacompanymemberof“DesertDanceTheatre”ofPhoenix,Arizona,anddancedwiththe“a.ludwigdance collective,” also ofArizona. Professor Winters-March was founder andartisticdirectorof“TwoRiversDanceTheatre,”acontemporarydancecompanythattouredwest-centralIllinois.ShehascollaboratedonnumerousprojectswithfacultycolleaguesfromtheSchoolofMusicandchoreographedover60workson dancers at WIU, Lincoln College, Oakland University, Knox College, SanMarcosStateUniversity,QuincyDanceTheatre, andCoreProjectofChicago.Shealso taughtandperformedin theNetherlands.HerworkhasbeenselectedtobeperformedattheAmericanCollegeDanceFestivalAssociation’s(ACDFA)NationalGala,heldbi-annuallyatKennedyCenterforthePerformingArts,andThe World Dance Alliance of the Americas (WDAA) festival performances.ProfessorWinters-MarchiscurrentlyservingathirdtermontheboardofdirectorsfortheCentralRegionoftheACDFA.

Dr. Aimee Shouse
Dr. Aimee Shouse has been at Western Illinois University since 1993. ShereceivedherdoctorateinPoliticalSciencefromVanderbiltUniversity,whereherdissertationconsideredtheeffectofinterestgroupconflictontheambiguityorspecificityofcongressionallegislation,specificallyconsideringlegislativecasesregardingthenationalforestsandtelecommunicationspolicy.Dr.ShousewasafacultymemberintheWIUDepartmentofPoliticalSciencebetween1993and2008. Her research and teaching interests continued in the areas of legislativeandinterestgrouppolitics,butherfocusshiftedfromenvironmentalandforestryorganizations toward trade and professional associations for female-dominatedoccupations. She has presented several papers on the political activity of laymidwivesatthestatelevelandthepoliticalactivityofsexsegregatedoccupationsatthenationallevel.In2003,sheeditedavolumeentitledPresidents from Nixon Through Carter – 1968-1981: Debating the Issues in Pro and Con Primary Documents, and in 2009, she published “Government Structure and AbortionPolitics: How Federalism and Separation of Powers Shapes the Conflict,” achapter in Interdisciplinary Views on Abortion: Essays from Philosophical, Sociological, Anthropological, Political, Health, and Other Perspectives. Herotherpublicationsfalllargelyintheareaofciviceducationattheuniversitylevelandtheassessmentofstudentlearningingeneraleducation.Inthefallof2008,shebecametheinterimchairoftheWIUDepartmentofWomen’sStudies,becomingthepermanentchairinthespringof2009.Dr.ShousehasbeenactivelyengagedinuniversityserviceatWestern,includingatermontheFacultySenateandchairingtheGeneralEducationReviewCommitteebetween2006and2007.SheservedontheSteeringCommitteeforthemostrecentself-studyforaccreditationbytheHigherLearningCommission,co-authoringthechapteronCriterion4.In2007,herservicewasrecognizedwiththeawardforoutstandingservicebytheCollegeofArtsandSciences.
