Since 1985, the University of Louisiana and its perennial powerhouse softball program has called Alfred and Helen Lamson Ragin’ Cajuns Softball Park its very own home.

And what a home it is.Often called the most beautiful and nostalgic field in

the country by opposing teams who play on it, Lamson Park will have quite a new feel for the 2011 season. The park will further its place as one of the finest softball fields in the country as a $2.1 million renovation, which began in the winter of 2009, is completed.

The renovation includes a new mostly-covered grandstand between dugouts, three private luxury boxes and a 50-seat Stadium Club. Fans will also notice more seating beyond the outfield fence. All of these new seats bring the capacity of Lamson Park up to 2,790.

Also, a new press box with three broadcast booths capable of hosting NCAA Regionals will be included.

The Cajuns also welcome a larger and more functional locker room that includes a technology-driven meeting room.

In addition to ammenities coming in 2011, fans will recognize the new scoreboard in right field that

debuted in 2010.Plans also call for new batting cages

and a special indoor area that will house the latest in video and virtual reality programming.

The 2011 season marks the 27th season since the facility opened.

Originally know as Lady Cajun Park, the facility changed names in 2006 to Alfred and Helen Lamson Ragin’ Cajuns Softball Park. The facility was dedicated in memory of long-time loyal supporters Alfred and Helen Lamson.

Even today, the facility continues to grow to meet the needs of an ever-growing fan base and provide a first-class atmosphere.

In 2007, the UL Athletics Department oversaw the construction of the Leon Moncla Indoor Practice Facility. Equipped with an artificial playing surface and drop-down batting cages, it is located adjacent to the softball field.

A few other changes were made in 2006. The right field and left field foul lines were adorned by brick walls. Another major construction project involved new dugouts for both the Cajuns and the visiting team – adding to the new and improved look of the facility and providing the biggest square footage dugouts you will find in the country.

The batting cages down the right field line were expanded in 2006. The new design allowed the Ragin’ Cajuns access to six different cages at once and was able to accommodate several teams at once when Louisiana hosted a tournament.

Each year Lamson Park changes before the fans’ eyes. The subtle changes are helping the Ragin’ Cajuns put a more “modern” feel into the park and continue to make the facility truly one of the unique ones in the nation. Come to a game this season and see if you notice anything new.

The Ragin’ Cajuns have dominated at home under co-head coaches Stefni and Michael Lotief, winning 243 of 264 games played under their direction since 2001.

Dominating at Lamson Park is nothing new for Louisiana. Through 671 games contested, a UL team has been victorious 579 times (86 percent).

If there really is a “Field of Dreams,” it might just be UL’s Lamson Park. Twenty-six years ago, the land which now houses the facility, was a pasture filled with barns, cattle, six-foot tall grass and the University’s dairy farm.

Today, this same land houses one of the best facilities in the country and plays host to the greatest softball show around.

From the time fans enter the confines of Lamson Park, until the time they exit the gates, they will be treated to three hours of pure excitement, also known as Ragin’ Cajuns Softball.

From the on-the-field action of the 19-time NCAA Regionals qualifiers, to the off-the-field antics of Robert Harris, the Centerfield Club and many others,

it is easy to see why UL Softball is one of the greatest entertainment options in town.

The official beginning of the game is right around the corner when Harris begins belting out the Cajuns starters in a style all his own. Harris a.k.a. “The Voice of the Ragin’ Cajuns,” has been a fixture on the microphone and will always have all of the fans’ attentions, regardless of what is taking place on the field.

From his patented “Ask the Ump” segment to his dreaded phone calls, Harris always seems to keep the crowd laughing. The mixture of off-the-field antics gives Louisiana a distinction from any other program in the country. From the first call of “play ball” to the final “yer out” call, no school can match the excitement of Ragin’ Cajuns Softball.

The field itself is what it’s all about. It provides the ultimate in playing and spectator facilities. From the oak trees that line the outfield fence, to the park benches at the front entrance to the astounding green grass that covers the field, the park provides all the comforts of home.

Along the outside of the park, fans must notice the “Wall of Fame,” marking the Ragin’ Cajuns’ climb up the NCAA rankings in the early 1990’s, which saw the team peak at the No. 2 spot in 1994. It also list the numerous All-American accolades the program has collected via the many greats that have adorned a Cajuns uniform and treaded across the Lamson Park playing surface.

The evolution of Lamson Park has been ongoing ever since it was constructed in the 1980’s. Starting in the early 1990’s the facility began to grow into its current state.

After sustaining damage during Hurricane Andrew in 1992, a 30-foot backstop and a grandstand seating section were added behind home plate. Not long after, a Press Box/Concession was added on to the grandstand – all which still stand today.

The Cajuns received a welcome addition to Lamson Park at the end of the 1994 season. With the generosity and effort of many loyal fans, the Cajuns received a locker room/bathroom facility with brand new carpeting and a satellite television, as well as leather furniture – giving the team plenty of room for relaxation before and after the game. An equipment room with a washer and dryer was also part of the facility.

Other features added included a public address system and an electronic scoreboard in right field,

which also included a message board.Lamson Park had a 225-foot fence encircling the

entire field until the 1995 season. NCAA regulations called for an adjustment of the fence so that all possible Regional sites could be uniform. The fence now reaches 200-feet down the lines and 220-feet in centerfield.

The five-foot high red wall gave up few home runs until the implementation of the neon ball in 1993 by the NCAA, which allows for a more “offensive” game. Five home runs left the park in 1993. In 2001, the Ragin’ Cajuns said good-bye 40 times and 34 more in 2002. During the 2003 season, the Cajuns hit a park-record 58 home runs.

Under the Lotiefs, Lamson Park began to see several additions and improvements. In 2002, a brick wall was added to the backstop and a new lighting system was installed just in time for the Ragin’ Cajuns to host a 2002 NCAA Regional. The lighting system allowed Lamson Park to meet the NCAA lighting standards for hosting an NCAA Regional, an amenity in which few facilities across the country compare to.

The all-time Lamson Park attendance high occurred on April 18, 2001, when 1,729 managed to pack into the facility as Louisiana hosted in-state rival LSU in a doubleheader. The two nationally-ranked programs split the doubleheader, as fans lined the fences for the Louisiana intercollegiate softball attendance record.

Lamson Park has hosted eight NCAA Regionals (last was 2002) and the 2000 and 2004 Sun Belt Conference tournaments. The park is scheduled to host the Sun Belt Conference tournament once again in 2011.

What’s back From 2010

season PReVIeWby the numbers

12The Cajuns have advanced to 12

consecutive NCAA Regionals (1999-2010), including two Super Regional trips (2008, 2010) and two Women’s College World Series appearances (2003, 2008).

45+Louisiana has posted at least 45 wins in each of those past 12 seasons, including

seven seasons in which the Cajuns reached the 50-win plateau and one

season with 60 wins.

16th

The Cajuns finished last season ranked 16th in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25

Poll after advancing to an NCAA Super Regional and posting a record of 45-18.

1The Cajuns have just one senior on the

roster in 2010, Gabriele Bridges.

5However, the Cajuns have five others

that are redshirt juniors (Ashley Brignac, Christi Orgeron, Katie Smith, Paige

Cormier and Megan Granger).

10+Senior Gabriele Bridges and junior Christi Orgeron have each hit at least 10 home runs in all five of their seasons. The two have a combined 69 home runs in their

careers.

2,790Louisiana will open a renovated Lamson Park in 2011. The state-of-the-art facility

will seat 2,790 fans and host two in-season tournaments in 2011 plus the Sun

Belt Conference Tournament.

.400The Cajuns have had at least one player hit .400 or better in each of the last five seasons. 2006 marked the last time an individual did not accomplish the feat.

Vallie Gaspard extended the streak last season by hitting .422 for the year.

With the 2011 softball season approaching, Ragin’ Cajuns fans are going to see quite a few changes around Lamson Park, in the stands and on the field. When Louisiana opens its home slate on February 11 with the 25th Annual Louisiana Classics, fans will be treated to a freshly renovated Alfred and Helen Lamson Ragin’ Cajuns Softball Park. The renovation has been on-going for nearly two years now, and the 2011 Ragin’ Cajuns are going to be able to call their home one of the finest collegiate softball facilities in the nation. The facility is set to host two in-season tournaments as well as the 2011 Sun Belt Conference Tournament It has been a tradition of success that has helped build the new Lamson Park. The Cajuns have advanced to NCAA postseason play in each of the past 12 seasons, the 11th longest streak in the nation, and in 20 of the last 21 seasons. UL has posted at least 45 wins in each of those past 12 seasons including at least 50 wins seven times and 60 once. However, it isn’t just the surroundings that will look different for the Cajuns in 2011. Co-head coaches Stefni and Michael Lotief have lost seven seniors from a 2010 squad that advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals and will have to replace them with a few new faces. Fans will recognize some faces, including the lone senior on the 2011 squad, Gabriele Bridges, and redshirt juniors Ashley Brignac and Christi Orgeron. Bridges and Orgeron will pace a potent offensive attack for UL that features a great mix of power and slap hitters. Bridges and Orgeron have combined for 69 career home runs and will team up with the likes of Taryn Broussard, Megan Granger and Sarah Draheim to provide the power for the Cajuns’ offense. A few speedsters will set the tone for Louisiana including junior Erikka Murphy. Murphy hit .315 a year ago and was 33-for-34 in the stolen bases category. The Cajuns will also welcome the return of katie Smith who was lost early in 2010 due to injury. The junior slapper boasts a .378 career batting average and has swiped 48-of-52 bases in two-plus seasons as a Cajun. Speedy sophomore Nerissa Myers will return to man her shortstop position and provide a great mix of offense and defense for UL as well. The pitching rotation for UL will also feature a proven commodity and a mix of new faces. Brignac returns after missing all of 2010 due to injury. The junior right-hander was sensational in 2008, leading the Cajuns to a College World Series berth, going 31-7 with 327 K’s in her freshman campaign. She was equally impressive in 2009, posting a 0.44 ERA and striking out 107 batters in just 79.0 innings of work. The only other returning pitcher is sophomore Paige Cavallin who saw limited action in 2010. Freshmen hurlers such as Allie Chenault, Christina Hamilton and Shelbee Rodgers are going to have to step up in 2011 if the Cajuns want to continue their dominance in the circle. There is no doubt that, with a good mix of returning experience and fresh talent, the pieces are in place for UL to make yet another postseason run in 2011. Fans are going to see a great product in the newly renovated Lamson Park, but an even greater product on the field as the Cajuns look to continue their winning ways.

STEFNI LOTIEF In 2001 Stefni Lotief was named the head coach of the perennially ranked Ragin’ Cajuns softball program after being one of the most successful players in the history of the storied program. Since 2003, she has served alongside husband Michael Lotief as co-head coach of the program. No stranger to success in her days as an All-American pitcher for Louisiana from 1987-1990, Lotief has continued that success as co-head coach and kept the Ragin’ Cajuns as one of the nation’s premier programs guiding the Cajuns to seven NCAA Regional championship games, a two Super Regionals and two Women’s College World Series appearance in her first ten seasons at the helm. In Lotief, the Ragin’ Cajuns’ pitching staff has one of the top mentors in the nation. In the last four seasons, the Cajuns pitching staff have had two freshmen (Brittany Cuevas, 2007 and Ashley Brignac, 2008) who have won 30 games in the circle and posted 300-plus strikeouts. In addition to her pitching staff duties, Lotief manages the softball program’s administrative duties and spearheads the program’s fundraising arm.

A Winning Tradition Lotief holds an overall record of 497-128 (.795) at the University of Louisiana and has posted 50-plus victories six times in ten seasons. Her career winning percentage ranks near the top in the NCAA record books amongst all active Division I head coaches. Lotief’s teams claimed the Sun Belt Conference regular season and tournament championships in her first six seasons and posted the first undefeated conference record in program history in 2004 (18-0). She has led the program to NCAA Regionals in each season and the Women’s College World Series in 2003 and 2008. She has compiled a 167-30 (.848) record in Sun Belt games.

Attracting Homegrown Talent Alongside her husband and co-head coach Michael Lotief, she has been able to maintain the high standards of the program with “hometown” athletes, affirming her belief that the state of Louisiana and East Texas is a hotbed for college softball.

“Most of the players on this team are ‘hometown girls’,” she said. “The coaches are hometown people. All of us, for the most part, were overlooked by the ‘big’ schools in the recruiting process. “We had the courage to make a choice to defy the naysayers and conventional wisdom and stay close to home, near family and friends and pursue excellence,” she added. “All of us came here with hopes and dreams. Add to that hard-work and solid preparation – it creates an environment where people care about each other – and add in a community where fans and families who support and believe in the dreams and hopes, and watch the dreams become reality.”

Coaching at Louisiana Lotief has garnered Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year honors six times (2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2010) and Louisiana Coach of the Year honors four times (2003, 2004, 2005, 2008). In 2010, UL won its third straight Sun Belt Regular Season Title and their thrid cosecutive Sun Belt Tournament Championship. The Cajuns defeated No.18 Texas A&M twice and host No.17 LSU once to advance through the Baton Rouge Regional. UL fell to eventual National Champion UCLA in the Super Regional. In 2009, the Ragin’ Cajuns reclaimed the Sun Belt Conference regular season and tournament titles for the second season in a row after being edged out in 2007 by Florida Atlantic. In 2008, Louisiana won the Baton Rouge Regional defeating LSU in the winner’s bracket final and championship game to advance to the Super Regional round in Houston. The Cajuns won the Houston Super Regional to advance to the second WCWS appearance under Lotief. Louisiana would defeat No.1 national seed Florida in the WCWS opening game. From 2004 through 2006 the Cajuns won 50-plus games. It was the first time in program history that Louisiana reached 50 wins in three consecutive seasons. The 2004 team marched its way to a school-record 60 victories and ended national power Arizona’s string of 16 straight Women’s College World Series berths with a 5-0 win at the NCAA Regional No. 1

semifinal held in Tucson, Ariz.. Perhaps her best work as the Ragin’ Cajuns pitching instructor took place in 2009. The Cajuns finished second in nation with a 1.02 team ERA with opponents posting a meager .166 batting average. In 2006, She worked with a pair of pitchers who were tossing at the Division I level for the first time ever – Krystal Lewallen and Ashley Kirchberg – and guided them both to 20-win seasons. In 2005, the pitching staff posted a Lotief Era-best 32 shutouts and reached 500 strikeouts for the second straight season. Under her tutelage in 2004, All-American pitcher Brooke Mitchell set the single-season record for strikeouts with 524 and led the nation in victories with 45 en route to being named an NFCA/Louisville Slugger Division I First Team All-American. The pitching staff’s earned run average of 0.90 ranked second in the NCAA stats. The Cajuns ended the 2004 season ranked No. 10 in the final NFCA Top 25 poll – the second straight season with a Top 10 finish. In 2003, Lotief and her squad saw their dreams come true and hard work pay off. She guided the program to the pinnacle of the college softball world with an appearance in the 2003 Women’s College World Series – theprogram’s first appearance during her tenure. The Cajuns ended No. 8 in the final Top 25 poll – the highest final ranking since the 1996 season. In her first season in Lafayette, she led the team to a 51-10 record, one of the best marks in school history, Sun Belt Conference regular season and tournament championships. Under her tutelage, pitcher Melissa Coronado set the

school record for wins (35). Lotief’s second season (2002) was highlighted by an NCAA Regional held at Alfred and Helen Lamson Ragin’ Cajuns Softball Park, the first time since 1997 that UL had hosted a regional. She was also instrumental in getting a new lighting system for the park, an accomplishment which helped the school land the regional bid. The 50-win season was the second straight for the program and Lotief and it marked just the second time in school history that the Cajuns had back-toback such seasons. Lotief became the fastest to 100 wins in school history as well.

Award-Winning Results Since arriving in 2001, Lotief has demanded that her team performs both on and off the field. Her squads have set high academic standards and maintained them. In 2002-03, a total of 12 members (out of 18 total) on the team were members of the Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll. Six received recognition of being named to the Commissioner’s List (3.5 GPA and above). The Cajuns topped that mark in 2009-10 when a total of 20 (out of 26) student-athletes were recognized by the Sun Belt. Eleven were named to the Academic Honor Roll while nine landed on the Commisioner’s List. That success went a step further in 2004 when Brooke Mitchell was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American – the first such selection for the program since 1997. The Ragin’ Cajuns have had 115 All-Sun Belt Academic honorees under Lotief. The 2008 squad earned Dean’s List Honors with a 3.24 overall GPA. Of the 25 members, 16 were named to the Honor Roll with nine players earning President’s List accolades for the Fall 2007 Semester. The Spring 2008 semester saw 14 student-athletes post a 3.0 or better. Freshman Ashley Brignac posted a 4.0 GPA in both the Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 semesters. The program has produced college graduates as well. In the 2006-07 academic year nine student-athletes coached by Lotief earned college degrees. On the playing field, Lotief has helped mold six players into All-American status and her system has produced a total of nine All-American selections – Alana Addison (2001), Becky McMurtry (2002 & 2003), Danyele Gomez (2003, 2005 & 2006), Brooke Mitchell (2004), Holly Tankersley (2008) and Karli Hubbard (2009). The system that she along with her husband and co-head coach Michael Lotief have installed has generated 68 All-Sun Belt Conference athletes including 51 first team selections. Louisiana has produced the Player of the Year eight times, Pitcher of the Year nine times and Freshman of the Year six times.

Prior to Louisiana Her collegiate coaching experience is not just with Louisiana. In 1992, Lotief was the pitching coach at North Carolina. She later returned to Louisiana as an assistant pitching and catching coach for the Cajuns during the 1996 and 1997 seasons. Before joining the Ragin’ Cajuns’ program as cohead coach, she was the head coach and president of the Louisiana Image, one of the best American Softball Association fastpitch teams in the country. As the mentor of the Image, Lotief worked with some of the best college players in the country. She also served as a marketing instructor and Assistant Dean in the College of Business Administration at UL.

As a Student-Athlete at Louisiana Lotief came to the Ragin’ Cajuns via Friendswood, Texas, and became the school’s first-ever All-American in 1989. She became the program’s first, first-team All-American one year later, and was named the 1990 GTE Academic Player of the Year. Also in 1990, she led the Cajuns to their first Top 10 ranking, as well as the school’s first of what is now 18 NCAA Regional appearances in the last 16 years. She is currently the school’s fourth-winningest pitcher (78 victories) and has the second-lowest career ERA (0.66).

Personal Lotief graduated from Louisiana in 1990 with a degree in marketing, and she received her MBA in 1993. She was UL’s Outstanding Graduate in 1990 – the highest honor the University bestows upon a student. She is married to Lafayette attorney and Cajuns co-head coach Michael Lotief, and the couple has a daughter, Chelsea, and a son, Andrew.

MICHAEL LOTIEF Regarded as one of the best offensive minds in the game of college softball, Michael Lotief has been a member of the Ragin’ Cajuns softball coaching staff since 2001. He has served alongside his wife, Stefni Lotief, as co-head coach since 2003. Michael’s career includes over 20 years of experience from nearly every level of softball and baseball. The first to arrive at the park and the last to leave, Lotief has been the driving force behind the continued success of Ragin’ Cajuns softball. His passion, dedication, work ethic and knowledge have contributed to turning the Ragin’ Cajuns hitters into one of the most productive offensive units in the country. “Hitting is an art,” Lotief said. “Hitting is a science too. It is the most difficult skill to perform in all of sports.” “I love the challenge of teaching hitting,” he added. “I love to talk hitting with our players and analyze their mechanics and break down video with them and figure out a way to help our players be the best in the country and realize their dreams and potential. When they hit a bomb it makes all those hours of throwing batting practice worth it.” Besides hitting, Lotief’s responsibilities also include recruiting, infield defense, fundraising, camps and clinics.

The System The results are amazing. From 2002 to 2006, Lotief’s hitting

system produced at least 70 home runs and ranked in the Top 30 of nearly every hitting category in the NCAA stats. The run included a string of three straight seasons (2002 through 2004) in which the offense set the record for school home runs in succession (76 in 2002, 79 in 2003 and 88 in 2004). In 2006, his hitting system wielded the first 100 home run season in school history. Three of his hitters – Danyele Gomez, Ashley Evans and Lacey Bertucci – ranked in the Top 10 of all NCAA Division I hitters in home runs. Under his guidance the squad ranked in the Top 5 in the NCAA statistical rankings for home runs per game for five straight seasons (2002 through 2006) which included a No. 2 ranking in 2006 (1.65 home runs per game). As with any system, individuals make up the different components which enable it to thrive. Lotief’s hitting system has seen some talented individuals put up some impressive numbers. He has tutored the Ragin’ Cajuns’ top four career home run hitters. Lotief molded the most accomplished hitter in school history, Danyele Gomez. Behind his guidance, Gomez, a freshman not recruited out of high school, turned out to be a steal for the Cajuns’ coaching staff. She set the school single season and freshman records for home runs by going yard 20 times in 2003. In the 2005 season, Lotief saw another amazing season out of Gomez as she belted 20 home runs for the second

time in her career. In 2006, he saw the completion of a stellar career by Gomez. She became only the third player in NCAA history to hit 30 home runs in a season and led the nation in home runs, slugging percentage and runs scored per game. Under Lotief’s system, Gomez ended her career with 83 career home runs which ranks fourth all-time in the NCAA record books and broke the previous school record of 57 home runs set by Alana Addison (2002). Another freshman had a banner season working in Lotief’s system. Holly Tankersley eclipsed Gomez’s single-season and freshman records with 21 home runs in 2004. Tankersley went on to hit 71 career home runs which ranks second in school history. Lotief also worked with Lacey Bertucci, the school’s No. 3 career home run hitter with 58. In all, he has coached four players who reached 50-plus career home runs (Gomez, Tankersley, Bertucci and Addison). Still one of the greatest accomplishments of the system came in 2004. Every player on the squad hit at least one home – four reached double digits – and the byproduct was 88 home runs – the first 80-plus home run season in program history. It all happened with a team that did not have one senior in the

Prior to Louisiana Lotief was i n s t r u m e n t a l in developing Louisiana’s nationally recognized summer-

ball softball program – Louisiana Reflections. In five years, his teams won five consecutive state championships, made five National Tournament appearances and won the AFA 18-U National Championship in 2000. Over 20 high school players who played for him have received Division I scholarships.

Personal Lotief graduated from Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette in 1981. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1985 from the University of Louisiana and earned his juris doctorate from LSU in 1988. He began his own law practice in Lafayette in 1992 and started coaching fastpitch softball in 1994. CHRIS MALVEAUX Chris Malveaux joined the Ragin’ Cajuns coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach in 2009. He was elevated to full-time assistant coach in 2010. Prior to Lousiana, Malveaux spent a seven-year stint at McNeese State, serving as the Cowgirls’ head coach from 2005-08. Malveaux brings many years of coaching experience as well as a great perspective to UL. He knows what has to happen behind the scenes in order for a successful softball program to function and understands recruiting. He is known as a tireless recruiter and refuses to be outworked. “I’m very excited for this opportunity to join the Ragin’ Cajun family and to be part of this great program,” Malveaux said at the time of his hriing. “It is a privilege to work with this coaching staff. They are great people and are very knowledgeable when it comes to the game of softball.” “Seeing this team from the other side for the last few years has brought a lot of admiration for what’s going on here,” he added. “It was always a great challenge and was very exciting to play in the environment at Lamson Park. Seeing what Mike and Stefni have both done since their arrival is awesome. They’ve been extremely classy and strong year after year. They are also great people and have been great friends to me for years. I’m very fortunate to be a part of the Ragin’ Cajuns family.”

Prior to Louisiana Malveaux led the McNeese State Cowgirls to four straight Southland Conference Tournament appearances during his tenure as head coach from 2005-2008. In his first season as head coach (2005), he was one of a few coaches to lead their team to the NCAA Tournament in their first season as head coach. The season began with a 9-24 start and the Cowgirls turned

things around to produce a 24-9 record in their last 33 games. McNeese won the Southland Conference Tournament and participated in the 2005 NCAA Regionals – only the second appearance in school history – and recorded the school’s first regional contest victory. In 2005, the Cowgirls set the school and SLC single season record for doubles (105) and set the school single season record for home runs (60). In each of the last two seasons, Malveaux’s squad led the Southland Conference in stolen bases. Malveaux produced a number of All–SLC selections, including one Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year and two Southland Conference Utility Players of the Year, two All-South Region players and four All-Louisiana players. Prior to being elevated to head coach, Malveaux served as an assistant under Scott Eastman from 2002–2004. He was also a part of the school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes program.

Personal The Houston native graduated from Texas A&M in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness. There, he served as student equipment manager for head coach Jo Evans. He also helped coach the Texas Comets, an 18-and-under team from College Station.

Co-head coach Michael Lotief on Chris Malveaux “He has an unmatched energy and passion and enthusiasm to help our players get better and make this program the best in the country,” Lotief said. “He is our good friend, who has good values and a good heart and a winning attitude. He cares immensely about the well being of all around him.”
