Introduction with a Big

“20 Awesome Outreach Ideas” is a presentation of our strategy ofreaching our own mission field for Jesus Christ. These are an abbreviated compilationof ideas and ministries that we have tried. Some have be somewhat successful. Somewe have laid aside for other endeavors. Some are presently up and running withexciting kingdom advancement taking place. Our strategy is Kingdom Impact Saturation Site. This is not a church plantingstrategy, but a kingdom advancement strategy. It is our way of attempting to saturateour mission field with as much kingdom oriented ministry and contacts as possible. Ourchurch has or has had many different community focused ministries in the past. Someof these are outreach initiatives which we are involved in with other like-doctrine andlike-minded churches in our immediate mission field. This is a humble attempt in assuring others like us, that a small church can indeed

make an enormous, eternal, kingdom, impact for Jesus Christ.

“At Christ E Free Church, we are making the most of every opportunity, to recognize kingdom moments, make relational connections, to share the gospel,

in order that others might hear the good news, believe in Jesus and be saved, being born into the family of God, brought into the body of Christ, trained upand firmly established in the faith for a life of devoted and pleasing service

to our Lord Jesus Christ.”

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,

knowingthat in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

1Corinthians 15:58

Ideas for Kingdom Impact Saturation Site Strategy (KISS)or Ideas that may “implant” the Church planting mindset into your existing established church

1) Community Service Project “Serve Saegertown”Our Hope: To build relationships with our community To show God's love through work and help projects To share the gospel through word and deed To demonstrate Christian unity between local churches working together

Our Mission:

To draw together, local conservative Bible teaching churches, for joint outreachministry.

To draw in, like minded groups willing to work and serve with us. To build relational connections in the Saegertown community, by demonstrating God’s love, through

acts of service and verbal witness. This will involve community oriented events, as well as workprojects for a church, individuals, elderly, the local borough, trailor parks, nursing home and localschools.

In all we do, we will be….Serving our community

Building personal relationshipsShowing God’s love

Sharing Christ’s messageReaching the families

The overall mission of Serve Saegertown is all about building community credibility, earning personal trust, evidencing genuine Christ-like love and making relational connections, that will result in directing people anddeveloping receptivity to Jesus Christ and His gospel.

Our Goals:1) To obediently do our part to engage our culture in practical, Christ honoring ways.2) To alertly recognize and respond to opportunities and kingdom moments that God brings into our path3) To sensitively make relational connections that will enable people to hear and believe the good news.

Our Purpose:To see those we serve, helped in their physical situation, born again spiritually into the family of God, broughtinto the body of Christ and transformed into the people, family andcommunity God intends them/us to be.

Our Invitation:We invite anyone, anywhere from any church or any community to joinus for this week of service for Jesus Christ.

Our Vision:It is our vision that this week long event will become the kickoff for anongoing movement of personal involvement and service ministry to ourlocal community and mission field.

2) Community Bicycle ClinicEvery year our township has a community wide yard sale in the main downtownsection of the town. People from miles and miles around come to town for aday of strolling through every front yard in town. It is a huge event!

Our bike clinic started as a summer outreach kids missions project (SOKM) forour church’s kids klub. We hold our bike clinic at a prime part of town wherewe get the most traffic. We offer free bicycle tune ups, and minor repairs.

We also spend 2-3 months prior to the clinic, taking in donated bikes which werefurbish back into working order. During our Bike Clinic, kids can trade in their trashed bike for one that is inbetter shape. Or kids with no bike, can chose a free refurbished bike to take home.

At 2:00 we advertise our free bike giveaway. In the past we have purchased a new bike, and some new bikeshave been donated. For the giveaway, you must be present to win. All morning people who have strolledthrough the yard sales and visited our bike clinic had registered for the free giveaway. At 2:00 everyone comesback for the drawing. With the largest crowd of the day, we introduce who we are and what we are doing. Weinvite families to our church and kids to our church’s KidsKlub. We then give a brief 5 minute gospelpresentation and the free bike becomes an illustration for the free gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

During the day, our church’s men’s group serves up free snow conesto all passers-by. The snow cone machine is rented at a local rentalcenter and flavorings can be purchased at Wallmart.

Following the gospel message, we have many drawings for free safetyhelmets, bicycle bells, tire pumps, tire repair kit, and other items. Thefinal drawing is for the new free bicycle.

The kids and families go away absolutely THRILLED with the day.And we have a great time as well. It is a great way to share Christ andmake a positive connection with the community.

This is a great and funfilled Kingdom Impact Saturation Site Strategy event.

3) Community wide NDOP Gathering We haveinitiated and implemented a community wide gathering for the NationalDay of Prayer. Other churches in the area are included, multiple pastorsparticipate and the community is brought to prayer by the joint efforts ofas many local ministers as we can gather. Many decline from participation, butseveral do join in the gathering. It is one way to attempt to foster prayer for ourcommunity and our nation, even across denominational lines.--- Yep, it’s a KISS!

4) Community Sportsman’s Club KitchenIn the past we have staffed the kitchen for our local sportsman’s club. Asthe people shoot, we have concessions available, much like a ballgame. We serve the food and the people and also provide Christian literature, advertisements and Christian conversation with those God brings us incontact with.

5) Community wide Christmas Choir & HymnSingWith some great musicians in our church, we began acommunity choir for our community wide Christmas cantata.Advertisements went out and invitations were extended toour local churches, and it has grown to make our gathering ahighly anticipated seasonal event with a large audience ofChristmas music lovers.

The beauty of this is that we schedule our communityChristmas cantata on the 1st Saturday evening of December. That way it doesn’t interfere with any of our local churchesAdvent gatherings. The choir represents 6-7 differentchurches.

The people in the choir, do their own advertising within their own churches and make special invitations tochurch, friends and family members.

During the cantata, we highlight a local charity organization for our offering. Also, near the end of the evening,a Christmas focused gospel presentation is made for all. At the closing, those who have no church, areencouraged to consider going to church with the person who invited them to the cantata.

This has become a great and talked about community Christmas event.

Also, on the 5th Sunday evening of each month we have a Hymn Sing. What started in a home, has grown to agathering in local churches on a rotation al basis. Every 5th Sunday evening, various churches host the HymnSing, with their own musicians and other churches come to enjoy and evening of fellowship and worship.

With Scripture reading and a brief devotional thought, together with some personal testimonies, this has provento be a wonderful relational building opportunities between area churches.

This has all over it!

6) Community Morning Bible GroupWe are making plans for a morning Bible study group in a downtown place ofbusiness. One local store has offered to host the morning meeting, one day a week.We believe this will facilitate Bible learning and growth in prayer in the lives ofthose who will be attending.

We pray this will become another way the people in our community can bereached, and taught the Truth of God’s Holy Word, the Bible.--- Obviously a big

7) Community Food PantryOur food pantry has been developed with the purpose ofministering to the people of our church, but also to thosein need in our community. Our Care and Outreach teamoversees the ministry, but our Jr and Sr High youth groupdoes much of the organizing, advertising, challenging thechurch and packaging the food in complete meals for 4people.

8) Community Door to Door VisitationOur SOS project (Saegertown Outreach Survey) has met with phenomenalopenness with those we greet. We go door to door to meet the people who areneighbors to our church location. We want the people to know that our churchis one which cares about them and is here to help them as we are able.

We have a fairly non-threatening scripted survey that leads us through ourgreeting, our purpose of meeting our neighbors, asking a few questions abouttheir faith and who they believe Jesus to be. We also ask and record anyprayer request they may have and offer to pray for them there.---Totally a !

9) Hosting Community GroupsWe attempt to open our facility to some of our community groups that aren’tconnected with our church. MOPS has met in our church in the past. An AAgroup now meets in the evening.

Allowing certain community groups to use church facility can open the doorto these community help groups, and can introduce some of the attenders of these groups to ourchurch. We have had multiple opportunities to speak and share Bible messages with these groups.

10) Release TimeRelease Time is 1 hour of Bible teaching for students from our local public schools. Thatmeet in our local church(s). During the school day, students are bussed to a local church forBible lessons with other students in their grades. Release Time typically enrolls 1/3 of thelocal elementary school in our Release Time classes. Approximately 1/2 of our RT studentsdo not attend church. !

11) Upper ClassmenUpperClassmen is our “elder” group of 55 year olds and up. They meet for a coveredlunch together, share life stories, fellowship and have devotions together. Prayer is alwaysan important part of this group and their ministry.

12) Community Sermon Series BookletsPastor has begun formatting his monthly sermon series into booklet form. These are intendedto be taking by church members and given to people at work or other gathering places.Booklets are often left in select stores in the community who agree to display the Christianliterature for their customers. – Big !KISS

Walking in Newness of Life - Rom.6:4

13) Community Men’s GatheringIn a prayerful attempt to revive our Church’s men’s group, we beganadvertising in the newspaper and on the radio for men who wereinterested in breakfast and Bible discussion. We also moved ourmeeting time to 8am.

The men gather at 8am for breakfast prepared on site. During the meal, we have “table talk” topicsto prepare us for the main focus of the morning. During breakfast, we also discuss our upcoming work projectsand any other items of business.

8:35 we adjourn to the sanctuary for our main event as we watch a 35 minute video from Man In The Mirrorministries.

9:10 We follow that with a Bible focused discussion from the topic addressed on the video. At 9:30am wedismiss in prayer.

Our vision is to serve our community, as well as connecting with other men in discipleship relationships. Inaddition to this, our vision is to bring in men who go to church, but have no men’s group. We hope them willgather with us, get fired up about men’s ministry and go home with some of our free men’s ministry resources, prayerfully find one other man in their church who shares their passion and together, kick off and lead men’sministry at their own church. Our Focus: The focus of our men's group is discipling men and serving our community. Our Gatherings: The STORM gathers the 1st Saturdays at 8:00am for our monthly Breakfast and BibleDiscussion group. We enjoy breakfast, a bit of table talk and fellowship. During our meal we discuss variousitems of “business” such as opportunities to serve our community. We will be viewing a 30-35 minute video by Patrick Morley, from Man In The Mirror ministries. Our series forthe next few months will be ManAlive!, focusing our energy and living our passion for Jesus Christ.

We conclude our gatherings with a brief discussion on the video and the Bible lessons presented in theteaching. We then dismiss in prayer. Our vision is that area men will begin to see the importance of meeting together as men, as we aregrappling with and growing in our faith. We also desire that men from other churches, will attend, get fired upabout men's ministry and will go home with helpful resources to begin meaningful men's ministry at their ownchurches. -- A Major Kingdom Impact Saturation Site. There is no set cost for these meetings. We will offer everything for no set cost. However, anydonations for food and/or giveaway resources would be appreciated. Manly !

thoughts & feelings, Photos, charts, Q & A, Creating and expressing, Discussion – children reflect their lessonto teacher Adventure, merit badges, outings, events, etc, Fun.

We attempt to reach out to children through KidsKlub, KidsQuest, VBS, Backyard Bible Club, SportsCamp, Bike Clinic, Sunday School, Children’s Church, Children’s Sermon, Mid-week groups, special Blowouts, Bible lessons, fun events, 5th Friday and Saturday Night Special and more.

_____________________________________________________________________

KidsQuest is our KidsKlub group with a scouting flare. We havesome quest projects, character studies, Bible focused lessons, meritbadges, special patches, adventures, camping, hiking, biking, fishing, and many more opportunities to build relationships withGod and to develop an appreciation for God’s creation, whilerelating to one another in a Christ honoring manner.

Both KidsKlub and KidsQuest are gospel centered and discipleshipfocused as we develop learners and believers in Jesus Christ, who inturn are committed to living for Him and serving Him with theirhearts and lives.

15) Community Kids blowoutsThe 5th Friday meets the 5th Friday of any given month for kids grades 1-6.We have a $1 all you can eat meal, with their family invited to join them.Following the all you can eat meal, we adjourn to the sanctuary forapproximately 20 minutes of Christian songs and age related Bible messageand challenge. We include Bible drills and prizes.

Following the Bible lesson, we return downstairs where we engage in 45minutes of high-energy, gut-wrenching, games.

16) Community VBS, BBC,Intermittently during the Summer, we have held atraditional VBS. We were part of a rotation of churcheswho typically held the same Group Publishing Co. VBS,but in different churches in neighboring communities. Weall build portions of the props, etc. We then rotated all theprops and resources to the various church holding the VBSduring that specific week.

This has been a great crowd getter, but we were concernedwe were getting mostly churched kids, and were missing the unchurched families we werereally attempting to connect with.

We also had Backyard Bible Clubs which is basically an abbreviated VBS that is taken onsite to a trailor park orspecific populated section of our local community. Our BBC had games, crafts, Bible lessons, prizes much likeour VBS, only on onsite version. This connected much more with the unchurched kids, but the numbers weredrastically reduced, which made games and diminished the “kids energy” impact that is needed for children’sministry. – A Big Time !KISS

17) Community Sports CampThese above challenges has led us to a new endeavor. During the summer, ourchurch now hosts a community sports camp. We rent the local school’sgymnasium and during the evenings from Wednesday through Saturday wehave a clinic focused on 1 particular sport per night. We cover soccer, basketball and volleyball with sports focused devotionals each night. The 4 th

night we have scrimmages with families invited to cheer on their athletes.Everyone has an absolute ball!

On Sunday morning, during our regular morning worship service time, we holdour Grand Finale. This is a ceremony for all our awards, trophy and prizegiveaways. All the athletes are recognized, awarded prizes and everyone goeshome a winner. A gospel and discipleship message is given for all the churchand athlete’s families.

Pictures are also projected of the kids that were taken throughout the week.

Following the Grand Finale awards ceremony, everyone is treated to a free Bar-B-Que behind the church on ourback property. Our sports camp and Grand Finale is an awesome way for our church people to mingle with theathlete’s families. It is a great event for making relational connections with the families in our community.

20) Community Nursing Home Church DevelopmentOur Nursing Home ministries originated as our elderswere putting into practice the things we were learning inour elders training.

It has grown from our elders, to several in our churchfamily visiting, mingling, participating and helping leadthe services.

Our purposes for our nursing home services, are tobefriend the residents, show respect and Gods’ love tothem and to establish them in their faith. Our messagesare both gospel and deeply discipleship oriented.

Our vision is not to simply hold services. Our vision is toattempt to establish the meeting there as their ownnursing home church, where the residents begin

participating through playing the piano, singing, reading Scripture, leading in prayer, handing out song sheetsand greeting other residents. This has been phenomenal, as the people genuinely appreciate the regularinteraction and their own participation in the service. Often times, they offer insight into the sermon that thepastor himself did not get.

This ministry does not add to our church’s Sunday morning numbers, but it is a needed and valuable kingdomministry. This is definitely a Kingdom Impact Saturation Site.

When we have special music programs at our church, the nursing homes residents often come in buses to enjoyan evening of music with their own special reserved seats.

Large for everyone!

We are in process of developing a communitychaplaincy program for our Nursing Home Churches,

Work Force Chaplains and Funeral Home Chaplains
