Outside Scholarships Hammons Charitable Foundation Scholarship was established in memory of Mr. and Mrs. O.P. Hammons by their son, Dr. Edward P. Hammons. Freshmen or sophomores from eastern Arkansas or western Tennessee who are active members of a Southern Baptist church are eligible to apply. The application is available at www.abf.org. The deadline is February 1.

Transfer Academic Scholarship OpportunitiesAttend one of the following two-year institutions: Black River Technical College, Ozarka College, Arkansas Northeastern College, Crowley’s Ridge College, University of Arkansas Batesville, ASU-Newport, East Arkansas Community College and have a 3.0 GPA and 45 hours of college credit Summit Scholarship $2,000

Students with an ACT of 28 or higher and a minimum high school GPA of 3.25 are eligible to compete for the following scholarships within the Williams Scholarship with Honors Program:

Trustee Scholarship:At least one applicant will be chosen each year to receive full tuition, room and board. The recipient of the Trustee Scholarship must maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA.

Founder’s Scholarship:A select group of recipients will receive a $5,000 scholarship per semester.

Heritage Scholarship:A select group of recipients will receive a $4,000 scholarship per semester.

President’s Elite Scholarship:A select group of recipients will receive a $3,000 scholarship per semester.

NOTE: Two reference forms are required and made available to the applicant once he or she is accepted for admission. (One recommendation is required from a teacher or administrator; one recommendation is required from a pastor or church leader.) Scholarship award notifications will be mailed beginning January 21, 2013.

Take advantage of the Arkansas online universal application by going to www.adhe.edu and selecting the YOUniversal icon. This universal application serves as the online application for Arkansas state funded financial aid. With this application you can search and apply for scholarships and grants, create your account, check your status and receive notices through email and manage your account 24/7. Below is a list of scholarship programs and grant opportunities that you can apply for through the YOUniversal application:

Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship ProgramAward amount at any Arkansas 4-year university or college is $4,500 per year for a full-time student. The deadline is June 1, 2013. Students must complete the FAFSA form, but there is no income requirement for this scholarship. Amounts are subject to change.

Arkansas Governor’s Scholarship Program is divided into two categories: Governor’s Scholarship: A limited number of Arkansas residents receive awards of $4,000 per year. Governor’s Scholars awards are competitive and will be awarded to one student in each of Arkansas’ 75 counties. The deadline is February 1, 2013.

Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship: Students who achieve a 32 composite score on the ACT or a 1410 combined math and critical reading score on the SAT and a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in high school OR students who are named a National Achievement Finalist or National Merit Finalist are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The amount of the scholarship is up to $10,000 per year. Williams makes up the difference to cover tuition, room, board, fees and books. The deadline is February 1, 2013.

Federal Pell GrantUp to $2,775 per semester (‘12–’13 year amount).

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)Up to $300 per semester; must be eligible for Pell in order toreceive FSEOG.

Federal College Work-StudyStudents work an average of 6 hours a week on campus and earn up to $696 per semester. They receive a paycheck once a month on hours worked. Williams offers approximately 240 Federal Work-Study positions.

Federal LoansStudents are eligible for a student loan for the amounts below: gross amount

Freshman (0-29 hrs. accumulated) Up to $3500 per yearSophomore (30-59 hrs. accumulated) Up to $4500 per yearJunior and Senior (60+ hrs. accumulated) Up to $5500 per yearDependent students are eligible for an additional unsubsidized loan in the amount of $2,000 per year. Independent students are eligible for an additional unsubsidized loan in the amount of $6,000 per year.

Federal Parent Loan Program (PLUS)Loans are provided to the parents of dependent undergraduatestudents who are enrolled on at least a half-time basis. Repayment begins 60 days after the loan has been fully disbursed, at a minimum of $50 per month with a variable interest rate not to exceed 9 percent. The loan amount can be up to the remainder of the student’s bill.

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is thestarting point for the ENTIRE financial aid process and willdetermine if the student is eligible for the following:

SeptemberApply for Admission on-line at www.williamsbaptistcollege.com. Byapplying for admission, you are also applying for academic scholarships.

JanuaryFree Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) worksheets are mailed to all applicants for the upcoming fall semester. You will also receive a Work-Study questionnaire at this time.

January-FebruaryComplete Federal income tax returns. Once your returns are complete, fill out the FAFSA on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Include Williams’ Federal school code

(001106). If you do not have access to the Internet please call the Williams Office of Admissions to request a paper copy of the FAFSA.

Hammons Foundation Scholarship deadline is February 1.Governor’s Scholarship Program deadline is February 1.Christian Foundation Scholarship deadline is February 15.

MarchOnce FAFSA results are received by Williams, financial aid award letters are mailed to Freshman applicants. Your admissions counselor will follow-up with a phone call to review your financial aid package. As additional scholarships are awarded, revisions will be mailed to you.

AprilEarly pre-registration for first-time freshmen begins.
