We start the course with an in-depthreview of crane terminology and technologiesso the students can relate to a cranes individual components and systems. Programscovering Grove RT load charts are used toexpose the students to how load charts areconstructed and how to properly read andinterpret them. After completion of thedomestic built cranes, the study will moveforward into the GMK product line, here thestudents will be exposed to the GMK style loadcharts. Exercises will be conducted in class toassure a full grasp of both product types.

Identify superstructure and carrier hydraulic & electrical components and explain their basicfunction. Identification of hydraulic & electricschematic symbols. Read and understandhydraulic and electrical schematics. Troubleshoot possible system problems utilizingschematics. Conduct basic test procedures.

    PROGRAM

This program assumes basic operationalknowledge of Grove Cranes. We start the coursewith a basic review of Hydraulic Theory,Principle and Hydraulic Symbols. The attendeeswill gain an understanding of the hydrauliccomponents and systems through the study of the hydraulic schematics. This will give studentsa working knowledge of a fully functioning Grovecrane and the foundation to learn proper

troubleshooting techniques and hydraulic testprocedures. Part 2 will involve basic ElectricalTheory and Principles along with electricalsymbols. Schematics will then be covered toassure students understand the function of Grove Crane electrical systems and are a basisfor troubleshooting and repairs. Hands-onsessions are conducted to reinforce classroomstudies. Hydraulic/Electrical test benches allowtechnicians to apply classroom theory topractical hydraulics and electrical tasks.
