CHAMPION 4-H CLIPPER
Open to East-Central district 4-H members, 14-21 years of age as of January 1, 2012. The committee will provide 10 calves, washed and heads clipped,
that will be allocated on a draw basis to each contestant. Entrants supply their own clipping apparatus and an assistant (4-H age) to hold the animal (the
assistant does not advise on clipping technique). The competition held at 6:30 p.m. on July 22. Entrants have 1.5 hours and are judged on their ability
to prepare their heifer. Prizes: Jacket for each contestant & 1st –Clippers; 2
nd - $50; 3
rd - $40; 4
th - $30; remaining $20 each. Presentation to take place
during the open show.

2012 East-Central Ontario Showmanship Competition Judge: David Crack Jr, Richmond, PQ Open to all 4-H members resident in East-Central Ontario district. Co-sponsored by Jones Feed Mill Ltd, Holstein Canada, Jackson Water Conditioning & Northumberland County Holstein Club with each member receiving the same prize money. Competition will be divided into four groups: Novice – under 12 as of Jan 1 2012, Junior –12-14 as of January 1
st, 2012 Intermediate - 15-17 as of January 1
st, 2012 and
Senior – 18-21 as of January 1st, 2012. An award will be provided for winning showperson in each class. 4-H members are required to
show the calf used to complete their 4-H project, which should be shown in the regular classes.
Bonus–DeLaval is donating 4- $100 cheques to be drawn randomly, 1 per class to any 4-H member in the class.
