Who does it affect?
• YM/YW Leaders and Teachers• Sunday school teachers• Seminary teachers• The youth!• Parents
What is changing?
• From January 2013, the following manuals will be obsolete: • Aaronic Priesthood Manual 1(34820);• Aaronic Priesthood Manual 2 (34821);• Aaronic Priesthood Manual 3 (34822);• Young Women Manual 1 (34823);• Young Women Manual 2 (34824);• Young Women Manual 3 (34825);• The Presidents of the Church (31382); and• Preparing for Exaltation (31384).
Why is it changing?
• Help teachers teach in the Saviour’s way • Help youth become more fully converted to
the gospel• Able to focus on topic area to meet your
youths’ needs• Integrates with Sunday school and seminary– Can also integrate with Mutual, e.g. plan mutual
activities related to the monthly doctrinal topics• This allows youth to apply what they learn on Sunday
How is it changing?
• Integrates basic gospel doctrines as well as principles for teaching in the Saviour’s way
• Focus is on strengthening and building faith, conversion and testimony
• Uses most current teachings of the General Authorities and General Auxiliary Presidencies
• Available in 23 languages• Bless the youth in their efforts to become fully
converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ
Main Focus
Basic Overview• Introduce the doctrine– One topic per month – 5+ lessons to choose per topic; tailor to your YW– Lessons don’t prescribe what you will say and do
• Lessons include:– Scriptures– Ensign articles– Videos
• Learn together– Discussions – lots of questions provided
• Invite the youth to act– Follow up on what action they took from last lesson

• Teaching in the Saviour's way– The Savior prepared
Himself to teach by seeking Heavenly Father’s guidance. What can you do to seek Heavenly Father’s guidance to help you prepare to teach with the Spirit?

– At the beginning of each class, invite the young women to share, teach, and testify about the experiences they have had applying what they learned in the previous week’s lesson.
– This will encourage personal conversion and help the young women see the relevance of the gospel in their daily lives.

– Role play– Creative activities

– Listing ideas and discuss afterwards

young women to share or consider experiences and thoughts
– Inform them of next topic
– Invite them to suggest topics they would find helpful
