GETTING STARTED
Military
Take 25 is a grassroots campaign created by the National Center for Missing & Exploited
Children (NCMEC) in honor of National Missing Children’s Day. Annually recognized on May
25th, the Take 25 Campaign encourages parents, guardians, educators, community
members, law enforcement and other trusted adults to take 25 minutes out of their day to
talk to children about safety.
Get Involved!
Start by hosting a Take 25 event in your community. A Take 25 event can be any opportunity
to engage children, families, and the community on the importance of child safety,
including:
o Host a Safety Fair. Work with your local Family Support Center and Morale,
Welfare and Recreation Centers to incorporate the message of child safety in
to family activities.
o Organize a Child ID Event. Partner with your local military law enforcement
officers to protect children with this invaluable resource.
o Distribute Take 25 Resources. Take 25 materials can be distributed at local
events and during the Month of the Military Child and Military Appreciation
Month.
o Help Find Missing Children. Post photos of missing children in Commissaries,
Exchanges, and other base facilities.
Take 25 resources are available in multiple languages and are FREE to communities.
