Dear Wave Makers,
The staff of the Department of Housing and Residential Life is excited that you may be joining us in the near future.
Living on campus is one of the best ways to get connected and begin making waves at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Living on campus offers numerous choices on where
you will live, whether it’s a single room in a suite, or a four-bedroom apartment at Innovation Village, we definitely have a place for you to call home. The Living-Learning Communities in Heritage Park Towers are the place to be for first time freshmen students looking to have an instant connection to Florida Atlantic University! Freshmen students will also be able to make waves throughout the First Year Student Housing program, available throughout the freshmen halls including Heritage Park Towers, Glades Park Towers, Indian River Towers, and the new residence hall currently under construction. Upperclassmen and graduate students will feel at home in our newest apartments at Innovation Village, offering the comforts of home with the convenience of campus life.
Living on campus is one of your keys to success, it’s where you live, where you learn, and where you get involved. You will be a part of our growing traditions the second you move on campus! Students who live on campus have the opportunity to make waves. Studies show students who live on campus are more likely to succeed than those that don’t, and satisfaction levels, graduation rates and grades are better for those students who choose to live on campus. Living in a residence hall provides you with a greater opportunity to become involved within your new home, to meet and develop relationships with a wider variety of people, and develop life skills that will benefit you long after you leave FAU. The Department of Housing and Residential Life is committed to providing a quality living environment that allows you to grow and develop into the person you wish to be. Start dreaming of your new home here at Florida Atlantic University.
See you soon,
Jill Eckardt Director of Housing

I HAVE THE FLoRIDA PRE-PAID “DoRmIToRY PLAN.” WHAT DoES THIS mEAN AT FAu?
When you request a residence hall, you will be given a priority assignment, provided the completed Housing Contract is returned by May 1. The “Dormitory Plan” portion of the Florida Pre-Paid College Program covers only the rate for our least expensive double room in Glades Park Towers or Heritage Park Towers. You may “upgrade” your requested preferences, but are responsible for paying any additional costs. You must indicate on your Housing Contract that you are a participant in this plan to get a priority assignment. The “Dormitory Plan” will not cover the $200 deposit.

Studentswhohaveahealthand/ormedicalcondition that requires special accommodation or consideration in the room assignment process must contact and register with the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD). The specificnatureofyourhealthand/ormedicalcondition must be identified so we can work with you to meet your needs and make your assignment. Living on campus means you’re constantly surrounded by friends, study buddies, and a family environment. It’s more than just an ease of access to everything on campus, but it’s a tight-knit community that supports and looks out for each other. The small population of Jupiter Housing means everyone knows each other; it’s impossible to walk across campus without seeing someone you know.”
