NHC is a performance based handicap system.
The National Handicap for CruisersEach boat will have a Time Correction Factor (.TCC)
.TCC is applied to a boats elapsed time to calculate their corrected time.
Corrected times are then arranged in order with the shortest first to indicate race positions.
E.g Elapsed time of 1 hr = 3600 seconds .TCC of 0.849Corrected time = 3600 X 0.849 = 3056
The National Handicap for CruisersThe RYA have published a base list of .TCC’s using a
simple measurement formula.
Full list of base .TCC’s for the NHC can be found at
http://www.rya.org.uk/racing/Pages/NHC.aspx
Examples: Bolero 0.849 Twister 0.807 Soling 0.858 Nic 32 0.858
The National Handicap for CruisersAll boats will start a series on their base .TCC
called their Base No.
Base No. will be adjusted after each race.
Each boat starts the next series with their adjusted .TCC from the previous series
http://www.rya.org.uk/racing/Pages/NHC.aspx
Implementing NHC at PSCPSC will “NOT” be adopting the RYA published
base numbers.
PSC Base No.s based on 2012 PY Numbers.
