- All four games of the Championship Rounds at Madison Square Garden were nationally televised on ESPN Networks. Both semifi nal games as well as the championship game aired on ESPN2 while the consolation game was shown on ESPNU. Additionally, two Regional Round games aired on ESPNU and two were shown on ESPN3. The Big Ten Network and Pac-12 Network each televised two games nationally, meaning all 12 regional round and championship round games were available on a national basis.
- Since 2009, the average rating on ESPN2 of the 2K Sports Classic is .50, well above the average of .30 for college basketball on ESPN2.
- John Saunders and Fran Fraschilla served as ESPNs broadcast team for the Championship Round games at Madison Square Garden.
- The 2K Sports Classic was again one of the most highly attended early-season college basketball events in the country, attracting over 101,000 fans over the course of the tournament. The Championship Round games at Madison Square Garden drew an average of over 10,000 fans.
- The 2013 2K Sports Classic was the second in which Wounded Warrior Project served as the events benefi ciary. Nearly 200 wounded warriors attended the event, many of whom were honored prior to games or served as honorary team captains.
- The Event has featured three eventual national champions -- Florida (2006), Syracuse (2003), and Maryland (2002). The Event has also had four additional NCAA Final Four teams -- Memphis (2008), George Mason (2006), Marquette (2003), and Texas (2003). Since 1995, 59 teams that participated in the 2K Sports Classic went on to compete in the NCAA Tournament that March.
- In addition to Madison Square Garden, the Event has been held at some of the fi nest home courts in the country, including Alabama, Arizona, Boston College, California, Connecticut, Duke, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Memphis, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, St. Johns, Syracuse, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, Villanova, Wake Forest, and Washington.
Fran Franschilla and John Saunders were the broadcast team for all four of the Championship Round games at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

THE GARDENOn so many nights across its 125 year history, the Garden has been THE place to be. Today, Madison Square Garden extends its greatness onto busy Seventh Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets in Manhattan. The first Garden opened on Fifth Avenue in 1879 and has since changed locations and revolutionized into the 19,763-seat arena at its current location. The Garden is no stranger to college basketball, hosting the very first major postseason tournament, the National Invitational Tournament, in 1938. Well known across the globe, the Garden is more than an arena. Nearly five million fans pass through the Gardens turnstiles every year, taking in such familiar staples as the New York Knicks, Rangers and Liberty, concerts, world championship boxing, and of course, college basketball.
Its known simply as The Garden, a perfect appellation for a place where legends grow. To millions, those two words mean just one thing: Madison Square Garden, billed in typical New York hype as
THE WORLDS MOST FAMOUS ARENA.
It doesnt matter if its Michael Jordan, or Muhammad Ali, or Sinatra, or the Pope... They know the stage is brighter here than anyplace else!
Whether sitting in the locker room or waiting in the wings, athletes and artists view the Garden as the pinnacle: the best venue in the biggest city before the brightest audiences.
The Garden is more than a building. The history is so rich, and people want to be a part of that history.

DID YOU KNOW???
- In two short years, the BlackRock Gotham Classic has been an unqualified success. The tournament has featured four of the winningest programs in the history of college basketball, with Syracuse and Temple meeting in the inaugural event, and Notre Dame and Ohio State squaring off in the 2013 Classic.
- ESPN Networks televised four games of the BlackRock Gotham Classic in 2013. The Showcase Round game at Madison Square Garden between No. 2 Ohio State and Notre Dame was broadcast on ESPN2. ESPNU aired a pair of games from Notre Dame (Bryant and North Dakota State), and ESPN3 showed the Notre Dame-Delaware contest. In addition, the Big Ten Network televised all three Ohio State home games to a national audience. Locally, the North Dakota State-Delaware game was televised throughout the state of North Dakota on MeTV. In all, eight of the 10 games were broadcast on television.
- For the Showcase Game between Ohio State and Notre Dame, the ESPN broadcast team consisted of lead college basketball play-by-play announcer Dan Shulman, color analyst Dan Dakich, and sideline reporter Jeff Goodman. The game drew a 1.06 rating, significantly higher than the average rating for college basketball on ESPN2.
- The Showcase Game of the BlackRock Gotham Classic drew 10,138 fans to Madison Square Garden. In all, over 80,000 fans attended the event in 2013.
