Summary and Highlights Held in Denver, CO from October 31 – November 2, 2013, AISES 35th annual National Conference was themed “Elevate.”

The conference featured customary events such as:

• Caucus and constituent meetings

• Closing circle

• Ely S. Parker Award ceremony

• Largest Career Fair in Indian Country

• Professional members dinner

• Professional of the Year awards

• Research presentations for high school juniors and seniors, college students and graduate students,

• Resume resource room

• Sequoyah Fellows breakfast

• Sponsors reception

• Student awards and recognition ceremony

• Women’s and Men’s talking circles

• Pow wow and traditional marketplace

• Over 50 learning sessions selected by an external committee and organized by tracks

• The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Nancy Jackson – manager of the International Chemical Threat Reduction

Department in the Global Security Center at Sandia National Laboratories

Special this year: • Four Campus Tours over two days

Revenue Overall 2013 National Conference reached 80% of the budgeted income projection, at $929,210 total income. The total

budget projection was $1,158,275.

Overall Revenue goals were not met: large shortfalls in Sponsorships; More (3/4) Non-profit booths ($800) where sold then

corporate (1/4) booths ($1,900); Many exhibitors partnered and shared booths this year; Attendee (Registration Fee

Increase) and Marketplace revenue experienced increases this year.

Survey Summary Data AISES received 111 attendee survey responses, wherein 88.5% of respondents rated the National

Conference at a 4 (38.1%) or 5 (50.4%) on a scale from one to five, where five is the best rating.

In addition to scored questions, there was an opportunity to leave comments, which on the

vast majority were positive.

Speaker session results are sent separately and are provided directly to each speaker,

along with narrative comments, if they are provided.
