È .S. L'Essor and the OFSAA tourna-ment committee are pleased to an-
nounce that Mr. Serge Dubois is the recipient of the prestigious The Leader-ship in School Sport Award from the Ontario Federation of School Athletics Association (OFSAA). This award is based on a demanding set of criteria where the recipient must have had a longstanding career as a teacher-coach; be a good role model for students; be respected by students, colleagues and fellow coaches; have qualities exemplifying the values of fair play and good sportsmanship; treat stu-dent athletes with respect; demonstrate expertise experience; demonstrate leadership in the specific sport for which the nomination is given; and demon-strate commitment to the overall school sport program. Serge Dubois' certainly fulfills all of these requirements. He is passionate about coaching ! His teaching and coaching career has spanned 23 years at the secondary school level in Essex County. He has always helped wherev-er and whenever in any school social or athletic activity. He has coached several sports includ-ing: badminton, cross country, boys' hockey, boys' and girls' golf and track and field.
Serge especially loves to share his pas-sion and knowledge of the game of hockey with his players and enjoys see-ing them develop both on and off the ice. As a former semi-pro hockey play-er he is very involved in the physical training of his athletes.
S erge takes pride in other aspects of his teaching and coaching career.
He challenges them to become better athletes, better students and most im-portantly of all better citizens. He is highly respected by his players and his colleagues. Serge exemplifies the values of fair play and good sportsmanship, while promot-ing enjoyment, personal growth and educational achievement through school sport. Congratulations Serge Dubois you are a most worthy recipient !
