Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location. All

settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be

released.

Credit Arrangements: The sale committee request that potential buyers make credit

arrangements with the individual seller prior to the sale.

Bid: Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales

will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No

by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

Disputes: In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties

involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the

auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters shall be

final.

Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.

Announcements: From the auction block will take precedence over the printed

matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such

announcements.

Certificate of Registry: The proper registration or recordation paper, as the case

may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after

settlement has been made.

Shipping: Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is

assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the

responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping

instructions when making settlement.

Breeders Guarantee Bulls — Should any Bull fourteen (14) months of age or over, fail to

prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported

in writing to the seller within six (6) months following date of purchase or six (6) months after

the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will then have the right and

privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen

collected from the bull will be suitable for artificial insemination.

Females — Cows represented as being “pregnancy tested safe” have been

examined and declared safe by a licensed veterinarian and will be accompanied by a

veterinarians certificate to this effect. They are considered breeders without further

guarantee. Cows with calves at side shall be considered breeders also without further

guarantee, cows and heifers represented as “bred” are not

guaranteed safe in calf, but they and open heifers selling as individual lots are guaranteed to

be breeders, no guarantee shall apply to suckling calves. In the event a female is claimed to

be a non-breeder, after having been bred regularly to a bull known to be a breeder and after

having been treated by a licensed veterinarian the matter must be reported in writing to the

seller within six (6) months of sale date. For heifers under twelve (12) months of age and

purchased as single lots and who fail to conceive to the service of a bull known to be a breed-

er, the matter must be reported to the seller before the heifer reaches eighteen (18) months of

age. The seller shall have six (6) additional months in which to prove any such female a

breeder and may use any registered bull of the breed available to him. Any female returned

will be at the purchasers risk. No guarantee is given that a pregnant female will deliver live

calves nor that she will carry calves full term not that the calf carried will not be mummified.

The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been

sold nor for sickness not apparent at sale time.

Exception to guarantee: In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical

reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

Health: All animals will have passed the required tests as determined by

Agriculture Canada at sale location. It is buyer’s responsibility to determine health

requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Hobbs Sales

Management assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the

sale.

Settlement: Transportation charges on animals returned to the seller are for

account of the purchaser. No incidental expenses such as feed, A.I. signing fees, interest,

veterinary charges, etc. will be charged by either party when making settlement. If the seller

is successful in proving the animal a breeder, then said animal will be reclaimed by the

purchaser at his expense. Should the seller fail to so prove the animal a breeder, then the

buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement. F.O.B. ranch or location of origin or a

refund of the actual purchase price paid. F.O.B. selling point. In no event shall the seller be

responsible for more than the purchase price. Should a dispute arise over the quality of a

replacement animal, the Sales Management will appoint a mediator.

Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and

comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, or Association

assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or

otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

Rights and Obligations: The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract

between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following

purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of

the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of sale.

Tampering: Any person caught tampering with any cattle entered in the sale/show ring, or

administering any product, solution, or liquid, internally will be disqualified from the sale/

show. Further, that person will be required to leave the premises along

Ottawa Valley Simmental Club is Agent Only, it is to be understood that OVSC is only acting as a medium between Buyer and Seller and is not in any way

responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his/her obligations.

We wanted to keep this calf, but the 2nd choice calf developed

lameness. She is out of the Bonchuk cow we purchased in

Manitoba. This calf had scurs, but I thought she would look

better without them, so I took them off. She is correct in her

make up, deep thru the rib and don't forget the Beautiful Day in

the sire's pedigree. I think she will make a great cow.

This is your chance to purchase a polled Red Full Fleck cow in

her prime. Hosta 904U is a deep bodied, well uddered cow. In

2012 she raised a set of twins WPDA of 3.1 (heifer) and 3.28

(bull). She has been exposed to DONO 121X, Donovandale CJ’s

Xclusive, the high selling bull at the 2011 Bar 5 Spring Sale

XXXVIII, from May 1st to July 17th, 2013. We are retaining her

DONO 121X bull calf. Another good cow that we would not be

selling if we didn’t have to reduce our herd. Our cow herd is

enrolled in the CSA THE Program


Unnis is sired by Donovandale Showgun a “Royal Winner”. She

is dark red, polled, and has goggles. Unnis was Kaylea’s 4-H

project. Her style and disposition helped Kaylea to stand at the

top. Great milker, we will definitely miss her. Bred May 2,

Tinkerbell 724T is a dark red, polled, deep bodied purebred

cow with a picture perfect udder. We purchased Tinkerbell as

an open yearling from the well known herd of Indian River

Cattle Company. As a yearling she was used as a 4-H project.

She is bred to Bar 5 Paymaster on May 29th, 2013. Has been

preg. checked to that service. We have retained her Nichols

Manifest T79 bull calf. Tinkerbell’s grandson WOF 45Y, a

Bodybuilder son is being used as a herdsire at Wild Oak

Farms. This cow should not be leaving the farm but due to

Hank’s health; we have to reduce our cow herd. Here is your

Catherine is a cow that is smooth as silk, gentle and a great
