The CounselorsOur Camp counselors are trained

professionals experienced in child care and safety. Many of them work in our children’s ski programs during the winter or our Deer Valley Academy during the school year. The Counselor/Camper ratios are 1 to 3 for infants, 1 to 4 for toddlers, 1 to 5 for pre-schoolers and 1 to 6-8 for older children.

DEER VALLEY SUMMER ADVENTURE CAMP HAS SOMETHING FOR ALL AGESDeer Valley’s Summer Adventure Camp is based at the Children’s Center at Snow

The camp dates are June 10 to Aug. 14, with no camps on July 4 or July 24.

The ProjectsEach summer, the Campers

participate in S.A.V.E. (Summer Adventure Volunteer Effort), which raises money through an art show for a selected organization. Some of our past recipients have been the Carmen B. Pingree School for Children with Autism, Recycle Utah, Wrightsville Beach Sea Turtle Project and the Blind Children’s Learning Center. In 2012, the kids raised $675 for the local Friends of Animals Utah organization.

An annual Art Show is held the first week of August allows the Campers to proudly display the many and varied art projects they worked on so diligently all summer. The pieces are available to purchase for a donation to that year’s S.A.V.E. project.

FRIENDS OF ANIMALS UTAH CAMPS TEACH PET AND OWNER INTERACTION

This mission includes the goal of improving the quality of life of animals and placing them into loving and permanent homes through rescue, extraordinary and compassionate care and humane education.

Each year, FOAU rescues an average of 1,000 animals a year. The animals are spayed or neutered, and healed, if needed, and then put up for adoption in the Furburbia Center in the Tanger Outlet Center at Kimball Junction.

FOAU also offers summer Critter Camps at the Friends of Animals Utah rehabilitation ranch in Brown’s Canyon.

These day camps teach children more than just how to have fun with their furry companions. The five-day sessions give kids between the ages of nine and 12 a better

understanding of how to interact with dogs and cats safely.

Camps usually run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the ranch. Cost per camper for one week of Critter Camp is $325 per child, for the week. Delicious, healthy light breakfasts and lunches are provided each day

This year’s camps will run on the following dates.

• June 17-21• June 24-28• July 8-12• August 5-9The Friends of Animals Utah

recommends reserving spots early by calling (435) 649-5441, because the Critter Camps typically sell out each year.

For more information, visit www.foautah.org,

The mission of Friends of Animals Utah is to protect and provide for animals while fostering an aware-

ness of their importance in the lives of humans.

PEEK is the place for 32 lucky children, ages three to eight years old, to enjoy their summer.

PERFORMING ARTSCAMPS

From the teamwork of being part of a cast, the discipline required putting on a production, and the confidence gained performing before a live audience, our young actors are instilled with an appreciation for the performing arts that will carry them into adulthood.

Since 1995 the Egyptian Theatre has enriched children’s lives through their YouTheatre programs. YouTheatre has taught over a thousand aspiring actors who have gone onto study acting in college or pursue careers in the theatrical arts. Some former YouTheatre students have performed on Broadway — their dream come true.

This summer’s YouTheatre camps are as follows:

Theatre BugsOne-week camps for ages five to seven will be offered Mondays through

Fridays, June 24-28; July 8-12 and August 5-9, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.Let your little one get bitten by the theatre bug in one (or two, or

all three) of these exciting week-long camps. They’ll “play” their way through daily rotations of drama, movement, music, and stage crafts- all culminating in an end-of-week performance on the Egyptian Theatre stage. Tuition: $150 per session

Drama Queens & KingsOne-week camps for ages eight to 12 will be offered Mondays through

Fridays, June 24-28; July 8-12 and August 5-9, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.Fun is the focus of these fast-paced week-long camps. Whether it’s

playing it up in theatre games and improv classes, or hamming it up to put on a melodrama (boo!, hiss, cheer, sigh) for the end-of-week performance on the Egyptian Theatre stage, fun will be had by all. Tuition: $230 per session

Pre-Teen Summer CampA two-week camp for ages eight to 12 will also be offered Mondays

through Fridays, June 10-21, and will meet from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.This dynamic camp experience gets the theatrical juices pumping. Days

consist of group warm-ups, a choice of two elective classes (such as: stage make-up, singing/dancing ensemble, puppetry, voice, theatre games, stage combat) and a choice of Drama or Musical Theatre production group where productions are created and rehearsed for final performance on the Egyptian Theatre stage. Tuition: $460

Teen Summer CampThis is a four-week camp for ages 12 to 18 that will run Mondays

through Fridays, July 15 to Aug. 19, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Teen Summer Camp is an intensive theatre camp experience where teens

choose which areas of the dramatic arts they most want to develop. Days (for first three weeks) consist of group warm-ups, student’s choice of two elective classes (such as: stage make-up, singing/dance ensemble, audition technique, acting for film, movement, and more), and rehearsal for the YouTheatre Summer Show. This year’s performance will be a modernized version of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” set in the 80’s with a pop soundtrack performed by the musical theatre members of the cast.

The camp’s final week will be dedicated solely to rehearsal for the show, with public performances on the Egyptian Theatre stage August 9 and 10. Tuition: $675

Class sizes are limited and space is available on a first-come first-paid basis. Full payment is required to secure your space. Scholarship opportunities and sibling discounts are also available. Contact Jamie at (435) 649-9371 ex. 27 for more information.

The Egyptian Theatre reserves the right to cancel any class if enrollment is insufficient. Any tuition paid will be refunded in full in such an event.

If a student must withdraw from class prior to its beginning or prior to the second class, tuition will be refunded minus a $25 service charge. After the second class, no refund will be given.

For more information call (435) 649-9371 ext.27 or email: [email protected]

The Park City Golf Club, located at 1541 Thaynes Canyon Dr., offers an array of junior and teen camps throughout the summer.

First built in 1964 as a nine-hole course, this William Neff-signature golf course was redesigned to its current 18-holes in 1973.

In 2003, the 18th hole was redesigned by William Neff Jr. In addition to providing professionally designed and well kept greens, Park City Golf Club’s elevation of 6700 feet can actually add distance to shots and the course is typically 10- to 15-degrees cooler than most courses in the area, which is a definite bonus during the hot summer months.

The Park City Golf Club 2013 summer camps are as follows:

Junior CampsThese clinic style camps will

cover all areas of the game of golf. Each clinic includes safety, grip, stance, putting, chipping, full swing, course etiquette and rules. Golf clubs will be furnished if needed.
