Paraguay Accreditation
IEEE creates a Engineering Professional Accreditation with individual
avaliation that should be reco nized b the industr .
It can be a way to gain visibility and

Become true advisors about issues concerning public administration of
Energy and Technology.
In many discussions we have noticed
that authorities in our region have
"technical advisors" more as back-up
prestige than a serious source of
decision makin .

a) Develope National Standards based on IEEE Standards.
b) Establish a program to link the Industry to IEEE Scientific and
Technological trends.
a) It is an IEEE strength.
B) In some cases Industry takes too
much time to move along recently new
trends.

IEEE should increase internationalization efforts incorporating culture and
challenges of its members countries.
Technology development now perhaps
everywhere, but there are specific
challenges for each country and diverse
culture has to be understood and
res ected.

Increase the number of regional interactive virtual meetings.
It appears that sections communicationsrely mainly on face-to-face
communications. These virtual meetings
can increase the amount of information

Foster strength sections and when appropriate the division of large Capillarity will make it easier and fast to
row IEEE resence. Rio de Janeiro. Leadership
R9 will be a strong unit of IEEE with a large membership and several and
important projects. R9 would be recognize for the value of its members,
their capacity and leadership at technical and academy level.
It is important to show the value of our
members worldwide.Colombia Leadership
Be the region with the highest number of members.
R9 has much potential to achieve this
goal because today reports show that
we are higher than R7, and we can keep

I want IEEE to benefit from a true Staff/volunteer partnership, including
understanding roles and responsibilities; volunteer attributes necessary for
leadership roles (consider the chinese meritocracy model of volunteer
elevation).
Realize the full potential of the volunteer
worforce and its role in making the
buseness of IEEE Successful. While at
the same time making, the volunteer
experience gratifying , career-
expanding, and directly applicable to
forming and executing the IEEE
mission.

able to be in the "ma ".Guatemala Visibility
IEEE en la comunidad. Visibility in the local communities through Service
Activities.
Because there are groups of people
who need many kinds of help or support
and we, IEEE members, could satisfy
these needs with our work.
Aguascalientes Visibility
Make more advertising and a little bit of marketing for companies and
government in several countries in R9.
Because as companies and
governments know about us they will
know benefits IEEE could give them and
will hel us to row.

We want to maximize intellectual and
professional networking capital

growing region, while continually
fostering fruitful industrial and
academia linkages.
# Local and regionally integrated professional events within

Approaching the industry,
government, academics and
comunities, IEEE will get the
visibility needed in the Region.
Only joining this facets (industry,
academics, government, comunity)
will give visibility to IEEE Latin
America.
# Aproaching comunities identifying needs and staging members to
solve them.
# Approaching industry and government to create oportunities to

Improve the access to information
in the databases, given that the
IEEE tools are difficult to use.
Give access to information with
better prices or even free with
limited access.
Improve the willingness to get
involved in IEEE and societies. Our
region is not reached by the great
amount of information, users will use
other kind of engines instead of
IEEE.
Improvement of search engine of IEEE,.
IEEE should provide some access to the databases for all members
for free with monthly limit of downloads. If a member is part of a
society he could get a higher limit or if the member is volunteering
actively as part of a reward system.

Establish programs to link the
IEEE with the government,
industry, academy and local
professional associations.
To let people know the strengths of
IEEE, giving the Institute more
visibility and a word in the decisions
taken by the government, industry,
local professional associations and
academy
1. Create a data base of successful projects.
2. Create a data base of professional according to their specialty.
3. To organize thematic events, considering the participation of
executives from companies.
4. To promote public chapters that are related to the industry.
1. Number of data basis.
2. Number of events every year.
3. Survey of satisfaction according to
every event.
4. Number of participants from the
industry on each event .
5. Rising on the memberships.

Counting with a Professional IEEE
certification would help the
practitioners as well as the industry
to ensure that they are in fact the
ones required in that Engineering
field.
The proposal is to develope an
evaluation system to certificate
the knowledge of professional in
certain Engineering areas.
The proposal is to make a study of the viability with the industry and
the practitioners about that idea, as well as the creation of a
multinational committee with people from the industry and academy
that take responsibility of the viability study and in that case, the
development of all materials necessary for that certification.
Recognition on the industry of this
certification system.
