A Message for You – "How Good God is..." A passage by Emma Easton Newman in We Knew Mary Baker Eddy caught my attention recently. In expressing her thoughts about some friends coming for dinner, Mary Baker Eddy remarked upon greeting them, “How good God is to give me this pleasure!” (p. 98). I was struck by Mrs. Eddy’s explicit gratitude to God for something so simple. This got me to think about gratitude. Am I always grateful to God first for the good in my life? In talking about this with my Sunday School class, we agreed we’re often grateful to God for healings, but not necessarily for the everyday things. I have been cherishing what Mrs. Eddy demonstrated in that passage, acknowledging God directly for the simplest experiences. Camp is an opportunity to learn more about our relationship to God and to see and experience God as the source of good in our lives. We witness God’s provision of strength, joy, courage, friendship, home, harmony, inspiration, love and so much more. With this enriched understanding, I now recognize the importance of expanding the expression of thanks to include all the good we receive from God. I look forward to another camp season of actively growing together in our understanding of God. “How good God is to give me this pleasure!” Alison SPRING 2013 2013 Calendar Youth Camp Session 1 (15 days) June 20 - July 4 Session 2 (15 days) July 6 - July 20 Session 3 (15 days) July 22 - August 5 Session 1 (8 days) June 20 - June 27 Session 3 (8 days) July 22 - July 29 Combine any of the sessions listed above for longer programs! A Message

for You –

UNLIMITED

"How Good God is..."A passage by Emma Easton Newman in We Knew Mary Baker Eddy caught my attention recently.

“How good God is to give me this pleasure!”

I experienced several challenges while attempting to

peak a mountain, but I overcame them by knowing God doesn’t put things

before us we can’t do.

NEW! Young Adult Skills DevelopmentMay 16 – 20, 2013

Looking to build skills in the areas of horsemanship and mountaineering to work at a summer camp or outdoor adventure company? This new program at the A/U Ranches is geared at developing hard skills and improved judgment.

Mountaineering — Focus on fitness, awareness and judgment. Instruction will include rope skills (anchors), Leave No Trace principles and Camp Craft. Weather conditions will dictate other elements to be covered.

Horsemanship — Focus on improving general Horsemanship and riding abilities, training on how to teach and instruct other riders and exposure to horse related sports and jobs. This is not a clinic for beginners; need to know basic Horsemanship skills.

Rafting & Kayaking Staff ReunionMay 30 – June 3, 2013

The wait is over – time to dust off your splash jacket and make plans to join fellow Rafting & Kayaking staff at a Reunion this Spring. The river will be running fast, and so will the stories of past, crazy adventures together!

We’re keeping it simple and cheap – just the way you like it! If spouses want to attend, let us know and we’ll see how many we can accommodate. No children please.

Accommodations:

• Bunkhouses by gender; no special housing requests

• Bring your own bedding

• OR make your own arrangements in town

Round-Up Ranch — *New* Rock Climbing Skills Camp!

This new Skills Camp major 1st session will focus on climbing techniques including traditional crack climbing. We will climb some of the excellent routes of the Sawatch Range in the Colorado Rockies. You will learn how to build anchors and natural protection while working on rescue skills. The overnight trip will be to a world class climbing area. See the 2013 Youth Camp Application to apply.

Camping in a YurtYurts (round, semi-permanent tents) have sprouted at Adventure Unlimited! These structures have been added to accommodate our expanding program needs. Just north and

west of Sky Valley Ranch, you will find the Yurt Village – two sleeping yurts, a larger gathering yurt with a simple kitchen and a brick bathhouse. This location provides a secluded spot for programs to create a distinct experience on the Ranch property. Make sure to visit them next time you’re in town!
