Bangkok’s Only Dedicated Comedy Venue To Open! Situated above The Royal Oak pub on Sukhumvit Soi 33/1, in the heart of the city, The Comedy Club Bangkok, scheduled to open September 2014, will be Bangkok’s only dedicated English Language comedy venue.!

It may surprise you to know that Thailand, with an estimated 17 million English speakers, and a capital city the size of Bangkok, with an estimated expat community from English speaking countries of well over 77,000 "48,341 from Europe, 23,418 from the Americas, 5,289 from Australia, according to the 2010 census#, does not have a single comedy club.!

Grand Vision for The Comedy Club Bangkok

To produce comedy shows including open mic and professional stand-up, improv comedy, including improvised sketch comedy long and short film, gameshows and panel shows. To also have comedic theatre, workshops and basically anything funny!

To encourage the growth and development of the Bangkok comedy scene. Creating and nurturing new performers whilst continuing with the comedians who have been the heart and soul of comedy for Bangkok.

To bring a more international comedy (stand-up) circuit to and from Bangkok working closely with other comedy clubs and organizations in S.E Asia and beyond.

To arrange corporate event planning for Thailand’s corporate clients providing entertainment such as improv and stand-up comedy for corporate events such as business dinners, product launches, themed parties, conferences, seminars and much more.

COMEDY CLUB Bangkok’s First English Language Comedy Club To Open September 2014

Comedy clubs are a mainstay of entertainment in North America, Australia and Europe, and provide an alternative form of entertainment for those who have grown tired of , or need a break from the shadier Bangkok ‘night$life’ scene.!

“The Comedy Club Bangkok is a theatrical space that will be dedicated to comedy in all forms,” explains Chris Wegoda, one of the founders of the club. “We will have traditional stand$up comedy, open mic nights, improv comedy nights "think Whose Line Is It Anyway#, comedic plays, live TV$style game shows, comedy movie nights… you name it. If it is funny, we want to present it.”!

Support and Foster Comedy In BKK!In addition to being a centre for comedy presentations, The Comedy Club Bangkok aims to support and encourage the growing comedy community. “There’s lots of comedy in Bangkok, but there hasn’t been a space that has been built with comedy in mind. We will not only be presenting shows, but will be providing workshops, and doing what we can to develop English language comedy,” explains Wegoda, who ran the Bangkok Comedy Co"ective Open Mic night at the now closed Londoner for three years before partnering up with Canadian Improv professional Drew McCreadie, to open The Comedy Club Bangkok.!

The club is conveniently located over The Royal Oak pub, a great place to go for food and drinks before and after the show.
