An App for Woking’s Canal Quarter

My aim is to create a visually exciting app to attract people and promote the Woking Light box Gallery and the WWF centre. The audience for my app will be teenagers who are studying art or are interested in patterns and textures,

I am going to focus on the colours and patterns within the Light box Gallery, these will be reflected within my app.

I am going to use the photographs I have taken from my visit to inspire me. I really like the colour panels within the windows and how the light reflects off. I would like to use this element in my app. I was also interested in the gates at the entrance of the Light box, This pattern could work really well as an animated pattern.I like the idea of an image behind the gates which is hidden, this is something I might use in my animation.

These are my inspirations for the art work in my app. I really like the way these illustrations have been drawn and the subtlety and softness of the lines. I have manly looked at illustrations focused around buildings as inspiration for drawing my own pictures.Also I have looked at patterns which could help to inspire me in my app.

I really like the simplicity of the drawings, this is something I will take into my own artwork for my animation.

The artwork in my animation will vary however I will continue to use the same style of drawing throughout.I perhaps might start with a plain line drawing then add colour as the animation progresses. I think this would work quite well within my original drawings.

The theme of my app is to echo the patterns and colours within the Light box and WWF centre, therefore through my art work I will try and represent this,

Aesthetics: Typography4

I would like to use typography in my opening animationI am going to research into the different fonts that I could use. I would like something which is welcoming and also works well with the style of my artwork.

Welcome to the lightbox –this is my favourite font for my opening animation. I like the uneven look of the font and think it works well with the theme of my app. I think this font is quite friendly and welcoming to the audience and adds a playful feel to the app.

Aesthetics: Colour Scheme5

I will not have a colour scheme for my app as my artwork will be the main feature and background for my app. These are the pieces of art work I am going to animate.

Throughout my app, these simple black and white drawings will turn into coloured animations. I will add colour gradually and overlay photos to create interesting effects.

Within this slide the gates will open revealing The Lightbox, then the typography will appear saying ‘The Lightbox’

Within this slide the orange stripes, inspired by the windows in The Lightbox will fade to reveal my drawing of The Lightbox then colour will gradually fade into the picture

This is the most simple of the three slides, pandas will gradually fade into the slide, these were inspired by the pandas in the WWF Centre,
