M!s H!panic Lubbock Scholar"ip Pa#ant Dear Applicant
On behalf of the Miss Hispanic Lubbock Pageant Committee, I am pleased to welcome you to the 2014 Miss Hispanic Lubbock Scholarship Pageant. By completing this application you will able to participate in the opportunity of a lifetime. Our goal is to provide you with training and leadership development that will help you serve as an ambassador for the Hispanic Community, as well as being a platform to become a future leader of Lubbock.
The Miss Hispanic Lubbock Pageant is a long standing tradition of the Lubbock community. Held in conjunction with the 16th of September celebration, also referred to as Mexican Independence Day, it is a long time custom that instills culture, promotes education, and celebrates the future of young women.
Hispanic women from Lubbock County and the surrounding areas are offered a chance to compete for this title. The winner of the Miss Hispanic Lubbock title will have opportunities to use her talents and speaking abilities to represent the Hispanic Community in various events within Lubbock. She will be charged with the responsibility of being a role model for other young women and the Hispanic Community by displaying her poise, confidence, intelligence, talent, and fitness at every moment. The coronation will also offer a college bound woman to receive a scholarship. Unfortunately, the pageant is not affiliated with the Miss Texas preliminary; however, we encourage all candidates from our pageant to consider other competitions.
The pageant committee strongly believes that you will benefit from this experience. We wish you the best of luck and can assure you that this will be an opportunity of a lifetime. All participants are required to submit their type-‐written applications, Bio sheet, a current school transcript, and $100 entry fee made payable to Fiestas del Llano, Inc. These items should be mailed to my attention at the address below by July 27, 2013. All applicants will be contacted and required to attend a MANDATORY orientation meeting.
If you have any questions about any portion of the pageant, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to seeing you and getting to know you as we move toward crowning the Future Latina Leader of the Lubbock Hispanic Community.
Best Wishes
