The Moving Image Technologies XLS Mover

platform supports the XLS 3D projection

system from Real-D for Sony projectors.

The system mounts to the front of the lens

utilizing a light weight design. Bearing

cams on an aluminum tracks allow a

gearmotor to positions the XLS system in

front of the lens or to the side. System is

controlled through remote automation or

manually by override push buttons.

XLS Mover

Features:• The unit moves the XLS unit from one extreme to the other in under 5 seconds.

• Quiet operation, typically can’t be heard over the projector and server fans.

• Includes a timeout feature so it won’t continue to drive if an object is blocking the path.

• LEDs indicate when the unit has reached either end of travel

4

* Due to on-going development, features and specifications subject to change without notice.

Power Requirements:The system requires a dedicated 120VAC, 15A circuit for the hoist (in addition to the power required for the projector).

•Automatic safety interlock

•Key switch to raise and lower the unit included

•Various projection heights may be selected at

installation.

•All parts made from rugged formed and welded

steel

•Projector enclosure has removable side panels

for service

Control:The control of the system is by low-voltage contact closures. These can be from an automation

system, or from a projector with macro-driven GPDI outputs. The same macros that select 2D and

3D modes on theprojector may also be programmed to activate GPDI outputs driving the XLS unit

in or out of the optical path. A terminal block is provided for making connections.

A small control panel is provided on the operator side of the unit with manual pushbuttons to

select thedesired position of the unit, overriding the last command received from the GPDI

inputs.

iMAGE LIFT

Features:

Site Requirements:The system requires a load-bearing wall at the rear of the auditorium. Alternatively the wall must be reinforced with additional steel or heavy gage studs (details available on request).

The Moving Image Lift mounts to the rear wall

of an auditorium. It consists of a quiet projector

enclosure ‘pod’ riding on a vertical track. The

system raises the projector into position where

it will have a clear sightline to the screen

for projection, and lowers it to a convenient

height for service. The product facilitates a

“boothless” cinema design.

•24” sq. projection port included as standard with water-clear, A/R coated glass

• Interface plate at the top of the system facilitates electrical and HVAC connections

• Includes 8RU of standard 19” rack mounting under the projector.

The MOVING IMAGE TECHNOLOGIES IS-20 Series Power Manager offer AC distribution, sequential on/off control, and surge suppression standard on all models. It has been designed specifically for racks with multiple pieces of equipment that are desired to be powered on and off on a daily basis. It is ideal for audio amplifier racks. It includes LEDs that indicate the status of all AC phases. The IS-20 accepts six 20-Amp AC feeds, routes them through the switching elements, an EMI filter stage, and a surge protection stage, then to receptacles on the rear panel.

On the standard IS-20 model, power up and power down sequences are controlled via Ethernet or low voltage, dry contact closure.

The newly introduced IS-20d offers expanded digital functionality by giving discrete controls to each circuit, programmable via a simple GUI (Graphical User Interface).

The IS-20 & IS-20d Power Manager should be the heart of your energy management plan. Powering systems up and down just in time for their use saves on wasteful energy consumption during system idle time.

The MOVING iMAGE TECHNOLOGIES IS-30 is an AC power spike arrestor and filter-conditioner. It has been designed by MiT’s engineers specifically to protect digital projectors and other cinema electronics in the d-cinema age. It consists of a rugged, industrial-grade EMI/RFI filter, combined with spike and surge protection components in a unique circuit arrangement that protects and absorbs spikes and surges line-to-ground as well as line-to-line. The unit includes a counter display to indicate how many power spikes and surges have been absorbed and eliminated. It also includes LEDs that indicate the status of all AC phases.

The unit has been designed to withstand and absorb severe spikes and surges, including those from nearby lightning strikes. In the event of a direct, catastrophic lightning strike to the theatre, the IS-30 will take the hit, sacrificing its components within and saving your delicate equipment. It incorporates a ‘bypass’ switch that restores the Power in an unfiltered state, to get the show back on-screen quickly. When the unit is switched to the ‘Bypass’ mode a red LED illuminates as a reminder that spike protection is not in effect.

Note: When used with smaller projectors utilizing 2-pole power, the third pole of the unit may be used to protect other equipment in the auditorium, i.e. automations, servers, audio racks, etc.

green initiatives, in this case for theater lighting applications. The A-LMS brings ‘smart’ capabilities to

auditorium lighting control based on the use of power-saving LED fixtures.

In a typical installation, the A-LMS receives scene cue commands from an automation or d-cinema server

via GPI contact closures, RS-232, or network interface.

The unit comes standard with a lacing bar at the rear to facilitate and support the control cabling. The

rack mounting ears may be removed if the unit is desired to mount to a wall.

A-LMS 24

Some users have found that in certain

installations with unusually long or large

diameter lenses that the lens can vibrate,

causing a soft image on the screen. To address

this problem MiT has developed a bracket

that supports these types of lenses. The lens

stabilizer bracket mounts to the rear of the

MiT XL Mover and does not interfere with its

operation (XL Mover sold separately).

The lens is supported by non-marking nylon

transfer balls that allow the lens to continue

to rotate and move in and out for focusing

and zooming. The bracket telescopes

vertically, and includes adjustment slots for

both vertical and lateral adjustment.

• Works with a wide variety and diameter of lenses

• Allows lens to continue to turn and telescope in and out while being supported

• Easily retrofitted to an existing XL Mover

Using two track ends without an extension provides an 8’ [2440mm] usable track length. This is the minimum stock length, add extensions to this as required to develop the length needed. Contact MiT if a track length less than 8’ is desired, if you require the track systems to be a single continuous piece, or if you need a custom height spacer.

Note: for the most precise positioning you may elect to use two guided rails forward and rear, however a flat plate is generally used in the rear for better operator ergonomics.

Upgrades & Enhancements:The system may also be modified to allow one or both projection systems to pivot up to +/-4°. This is sometimes desired in the post production environment to allow side-by-side projection simultaneously. For this modification the following additional item is available:

B000201-001 KIT, PROJECTOR PIVOT

Note: This upgrade requires the use of p/n C000351-006 spacer blocks, and they must have relief slots machined for the projector mounting bolts to slide in. For this upgrade please provide details on the specific projectors being mounted so the correct slot pattern may be incorporated at the time of manufacture.

iMAGE MOVER Projection Transport System

MiT’s custom floor mounting track system permits two or more projection systems to be positioned laterally in a projection booth. The projection systems may be film and digital, or any other combinations. The track system allows either projection system to be on the projection centerline, even sharing the same port window if necessary – eliminating the need to modify existing buildings. Projectors can also be placed closer together to minimize image keystoning of either system while still permitting user access as required. Even large equipment can be positioned with little effort and locked accurately into place.

• Low profile rail (no trip hazard)

• Heavy-duty steel construction

• Continuous track lengths in custom lengths also available

• Platform height of 6”, standard

• Custom spacer heights also available

• Large urethane V-wheels with roller bearings

• Safety bumpers on carriers and track end

• Durable black powder coat finish

• Modular track, stock sections are combined to create any custom length

• Welded steel spacer blocks available to raise height in 6”increments (stock)

• Positive pin locking system for locating carriers in place

• Positive guide rail prevents dirt or obstructions from interfering with movement

• 1200lb [550kg] capacity
