The Road Ahead

Culinary Carnivale is upon us and is now a major attraction of the renowned Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food Month, an incredible achievement in just four short years.

The Spanish and Latin American spectacular is a celebration of life where Sydneysiders flock to our City to enjoy ‘La Vida Buena’ – The Good Life.

For some time now there’s a spirit of renewal in the City when Culinary Carnivale draws near.

Our people understand and know that the City is worth caring about. They seem to take a quiet pride in Fairfield where differences are celebrated and appreciated easily with happiness.

Culinary Carnivale delivers a social and economic dividend. The event is an indirect stimulus package. Businesses reported an increase in trade on the day with many customers coming from the Eastern Suburbs and the North Shore; and that’s a good thing!

In a very competitive world, Culinary Carnivale is a vital part of the Fairfield Place Team’s marketing and branding plan.

Businesses across all industries are embracing digital technologies to re-engineer their operations from the ground up.

In marketing, analytics, digital and mobile are transforming the entire customer experience, according to a CmO Insights study published by Accenture Interactive.

The growth of digital worldwide advertising spending will reach US$138 billion this year.

“Australia is ranked third in overall digital advertising spending. I don’t want to see Fairfield businesses miss the boat, I want them to profit from it”.

“It’s a matter of spending advertising dollars where consumers go”. Explains Fairfield City Chamber of Commerce President, mr Vince movizio.

The report found that consumers favoured using digital devices for purchasing products from multichannel retailers. 55% said they preferred to use a desktop/laptop, tablet or smartphone when buying items, compared to 41% preferred to buy in physical bricks-and-mortar stores.

In Fairfield Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind.

The lighting of the City’s Christmas tree, by mayor Frank Carbone represents human life in all its diversity.

Once again Fairfield will celebrate this time-honoured tradition on Thursday 4 December, 6.30pm-8.30pm at Epoch Plaza.

This very popular event brings together families, business and community leaders as well as attracting visitors to our City.

“Christmas waves a magic wand over Fairfield and everything is softer and more beautiful and the tree lighting illustrates this, it’s a true Christmas party”, affirms Tom murphy of Starr Partners.

This year the Christmas spirit will further be heightened by the angelic voices of The Way Choir. The kindi farm is back! And of course Santa will be joining us as he takes a break from his busy December schedule.

The

‘La Vida Buena’ is the motto for Culinary Carnivale 2014 which means The Good Life.

Our event has three key ingredients; family, food and fun!

Channel 10 celebrity chef miguel maestre will again bring all three to this year’s Spanish and Latin American Festival.

“I love cooking, I love food and I love family. Fairfield is a special place for me, my godfather owns Elias Pharmacy and I feel at home in Fairfield”, says miguel.

Culinary Carnivale is now Western Sydney’s pre-eminent event and is an integral part of the prestigious Sydney morning Herald’s Good Food month.

Spencer Street will again be filled with the colour, beat and flavours of the Latino world.

The party starts at 11am on Saturday 25 October with the Candombe Yauguru drummers opening festivities.

“We are expecting to set a new attendance record of more than 10,000 people. Every year we see a big increase of visitors coming from all over Sydney”, says Fairfield Place manager, Tony Walker.

This year’s menu will see the return of the Asado BBQ; your taste buds will find it hard to resist the paella, tapas, churros and a whole lot more.

Accompanying the sensational food will be a world-class entertainment line-up which will include Latino dancers, singers and the highly acclaimed Victor Valdez and his real mexico show.

A galaxy of football stars will attend; there will be face painting for the kids and a stack of giveaways on the day.
