This special event is a chance for students to be encouraged to enter in more contests and for students to gain confidence for winning such outstanding accomplishments due to their efforts. Our students have achieved many accomplishments throughout the 2014 school year, and we would like to recognize each student in our 2014 SKA Awards Ceremony. his event will be hosted on Sunday, December 14th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The banquet will be held at the Oriental Pearl (Address: 5399 New Peachtree Rd, Chamblee, GA 30341). Children will be seated among other children, and adults among other adults due to the fact that dishes served will vary depending on whether you are an adult and children. Dinner banquet tickets will costs $38 per adult and $18 per child under the age of 12. If you or your child would like to sit together, you will have to purchase an adult ticket for him/her instead of the child ticket. Please RSVP if you would like to attend this year's SKA Awards Ceremony by October 26, 2014. As the chefs need time to prepare dishes. Last minute RSVP's will result in a ticket fee of $45. If you would like to know if your child will be receiving an award this year, please refer to the winners list is on the SKA website.

Michelle Lung, an SKA Alumni, recently started attending SCAD with the help of SKA.

Michelle Lung thanked SKA by saying, “I just wanted to thank you so much for helping me

get into my dream school. SCAD is just as amazing as the first time I ever went to tour it

with you. You've changed my life and not only helped me shoot for bigger dreams, but you

also helped me achieve them. I owe you one for sure. “

SKA appreciates your dedication towards our school. Each time

you recommend a new student, that has registered to attend our classes, you will be rewarded. For each new student that has enrolled through your recommendation, SKA will compensate

you by offering $30 to use on our 2015 summer camp workshops. On October 11, a brave group of SKA’s students parents, and

staff went to one of the most terrifying haunted houses in the nation, Netherworld. Our group had loads of screamtastic fun inside both haunted houses! Below are some pictures from the haunted house field trip!

Community Art Exhibition Opportunity

Few exhibition opportunities recently opened up for SKA students and will be

distributed to other locations, such as SouthCrest Bank (Johns Creek), EWB Bank

(Chamblee), Lobster House Restaurant (Roswell), Oriental Pear Restaurant (Chamblee),

Cartoon Cook Restaurant (Sandy Springs), Perimeter North Family Medicine Center (Johns

Creek), Zero C Yogurt (Duluth), Bento Cafe (Norcross), Hartsfield - Jackson Intl.

Airport (Atlanta), Dandelion Restaurant (Suwanee), Washington D.C Education

Department (Washington D.C.), State Board Education Department (Atlanta), Capitol Hill

(Atlanta), High Museum of Art (Atlanta ), etc.. Exhibitions are a great way for our students to display their amazing works for the community and others to see. This will also help students build up their resumes and portfolios for future purposes. Frames needed for exhibitions cost

approximately $50. If you are interested, please contact us or stop by the front desk. Students

who are currently participating in the Community Art Exhibitions will receive an appreciation honor

certificate at the 2014 SKA Award Ceremony.

Congratulations to 2014-2015 SKA's Reflections "The World Will Be a Better Place, If..." Winners!

The following students won the 2014-2015 SKA's Reflections. They will be moving on to the next round to compete at county level.

It’s that time of the year! SKA would like to everyone to come out and join us for our first frightfully fun party on October 25, 2014 at 6 pm-9pm at SKA. We will be showing a Halloween movie (most likely Monster House, Frankenweenie, or It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown) and hosting large group activity games. Last, but not least, we will have a Halloween Costume Contest Party! Kids will need to wear their costumes and they must be homemade to enter. Winners will receive an awesome prize too. Pre-bought admission tickets cost $7 and at-the-door tickets will cost $10 are bought at the front desk at SKA. We plan on serving pizza, popcorn, candy, and drinks! For more information, stop by the front desk. We hope to see you there in your best costume!
