Building Analysis Software and Processes are Complex, consider
Multiple Aspects of the building and requires the building
to be Practically Designed and
therefore are Used Late in
the Design Process
So what problem does this solve?

The aims of the dissertation where to: Establish the impact of the façade on occupant comfort and energy
consumption in existing office buildings.
Create a set of office typologies considering the impact of the façade on
existing office buildings and set out notional reference buildings based on
these typologies.
Evaluate criteria for the selection of optimised replacement façades.
Develop a decision making tool, guidance and considerations to optimise
occupant comfort while reducing energy consumption in existing office
buildings when replacing the façade.
Use the notional reference buildings to review the effectiveness of the
decision tool, guidance and considerations.
