◆明滅、フリッカーのみで構成された実験映像。像、音、物語なし。

◆映像資料保存ついて
津波直後の大洗港・空撮 [震災当日]、福島第一原子力発電所2号機ベント管下部周辺調査結果についてなど公共、私立、会社、個人を問わず相互協力したアーカイブを収集、公開。
フィルム 映写機、設備がないと再生できない。劣化しても修復できる。長期保存可能。
修復事例：株式会社吉岡映像（京都市） 東日本大震災による被害への対応
デジタル 手軽に再生できる。多数の人間に配信可能。
停電、事故などにより一瞬で膨大なデータが消滅する危険性、脆弱性をもつ。
ハード、ソフトのバージョンアップ、リプレイスが必要。

メリット 簡単、便利、24時間アクセス可能、万人への発信が可能。
デメリット デジタル色が混じる（白黒以外の色が見える） 。
光のみえ方がフィルムと異なる。
「The Flicker」 の真正性（Authenticity）

◆構造映画からの問いかけ
「膨大なデジタルに、十把一絡げにのみこんでいいのか？」
「アナログ、デジタルの互いの弱点を補完しあい、より有効な記録を継承していくには？」
◆デジタルで「The Flicker」を完璧に再現することは、不可能。
「映像とデジタルアーカイブの概念は根本的にちがうのでは？」
45年以上の時を経てなお、あがらう強さを見せつけ、フィルムがいかに完成されていて、超せられないメディアであることを再認識させられる。
「映画とは？」と原点へ立ちかえらせる思想がある。

Monday the 16th at 15:00 or 3:00 is fine, when you come in please go to the 3rd floor AV Playback Desk to get set up. If you are interested in viewing more titles from our collection please let me know, that way I can request the films for you. The majority of our collection is not kept on-site here at the library thank you..
