Local and international speakers, fund managers, investors, analysts and captains of industry will once again gather at the Inanda Club in Johannesburg for the 2015 Joburg Indaba which promises to raise the bar with its lively debates and frank conversations that have become the hallmark of this event.
An intimate gathering, strictly limited to 500, the Joburg Indaba has become an important platform where industry leaders engage in strategic conversations that are open, honest, bold, fresh and to the point. We have succeeded in hosting frank conversations about the mining industry that have gained tremendous traction amongst all stakeholders and made headlines in all the main media. Participants have agreed that the Joburg Indaba has raised the bar with its straight talk, refreshing insights and intimate atmosphere.
Come and join in the lively debates and high calibre engagement at a gathering that draws captains of industry, government and investors who have found it an important platform to put forward their thoughts on the industry. 2014 saw the event attract keynote speakers such as the Minister of the Department of Mineral Resources, the Secretary General of the ANC and numerous high prole CEOs and thought leaders in the industry.
New this year is a pre-conference dinner taking place on the evening of 13th October, open to all delegates. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear Mark Bristow, CEO Randgold Resources, one of the few companies to buck the downward trend in equities and deliver real returns to investors.
Bernard Swanepoel will once again be chairing the conference and we can look forward to his incisive insights, candour and good humour.
We hope to see you there.

HEAR WHAT LAST YEAR’S ATTENDEES HAD TO SAY
I thoroughly enjoyed the Joburg Indaba, it was really informative and getting to mingle with and hear from the captains of industry was incredible....My gratitude is beyond words
This week’s Joburg mining Indabahas been described as encouragingby company CEO’s and analysts. The gathering has built trust among government, mining companiesand labour.www.miningne.ws
Anybody who knows anything about mining, especially in South Africa, is here and you can take the top 100 people here, break them up into groups of 10, and you can literally start another Anglo American.Peter Major
Thank you to the organizers for extending an invite to deliver an address at this occasion under the theme Investing in Resources and Mining in Africa. It is indeed anhonour.Minister Ngoako Ramatlhodi
Providing the opening keynote address at this year’s Joburg Mining Indaba, Honourable minister advocate Ngoako Ramatlhodi, minister of the department of mineral resources, was quick to reiterate the importance South Africa’s mining sector to the country’s economy. Laura Cornish, Mining Review

Speaking openly and honestly could be considered progressive for a mining minister in light that his predecessors preferred the ‘ostrich head in the sand’ approach. Laura Cornish, Mining Review
So how can South Africa build a world-class, globally competitive, sustainable mining industry? This is the central theme running through all of the critical conversations being held at the Joburg Indaba.Mining Weekly
Mark Cutifani, CE of Anglo American joins the esteemed group of mining and investor heavyweights, as the keynote speaker and he will give his voice on the labour issues that have crippled the industry and the challenging trade-os between cost, productivity and unemployment, highlighted by the mechanisation versus labour debate. Mining Weekly
Opportunities and solutions that could outline the route to a competitive and sustainable mining industry will be thrashed out at this year’s event amongst various leaders, game changers, and entrepreneurs in both the mining and investment sectors.Mining Weekly
Those operating in these industry sectors should participate in this event and make a valuable contribution, interact, engage and debate in a no holds barred, blunt but constructive dialogue on these and other critical issues.Mining Weekly
Congratulations on running a very successful conference. We certainly enjoyed being involved in it and look forward to being involved again next year.
Great line-up of speakers. Bernard Swanepoel’s direct and frank facilitation was refreshing and worked really well
It was such a privilege to be part of yet another successful Joburg Indaba. I’m really excited about the “future of mining” and especially about being part of the “next generation” having to gure out a way to make it work. Thank you for creating such a platform.
Thank you for the opportunity and congratulations on organising such a successful event which is a great credit to you and your colleagues. Clearly much work needs to be done by all parties to re-build the industry, but I believe that the indaba has made a great start with this process.
I extend to your team and you our warmest congratulations. You put up a rst class show! You can therefore count on us for next year, as sponsor and contributor.
The conference was phenomenal. I particularly enjoyed how most speakers were looking into the future and taking a longer term view on how to resolve challenges in SA mining. The line-up was also incredible. Lastly, I thought having the future leaders panel was also an excellent touch as the baton has to be handed to the next generation at some point.
Well done and congratulations on organising and facilitating a fantastic event. The calibre of the speakers was exceptionally high and the content of the discussions was really relevant and very interesting. I will certainly be back next year - with a few colleagues to join.
Joburg Indaba in the News! There’s more channelled brainpower and experience here I think than any mining conference I’ve ever been to.Peter Major
