Programme Details:

Program started with welcome of resource persons by the student representatives. Taking over, Mrs Pragya Nopany showed many activities on electrostatics and current electricity. The students were happy to see such a program for the first time and applied their minds very enthusiastically. They were mesmerized by the simple electrostatic motor and pie plate oscillator.

Ms Uma continued with more activities on Electromagnetism covering a variety of concepts like Fleming’s left hand rule, mutual induction, eddy currents.

What a joy it was to interact with these brilliant students from underprivileged background at Vidyagyan. Great enthusiasm and quick to grasp, the resource person were so motivated by the lot that they went out of the way to show more activities on Optics even beyond the time. Using LASER, rectilinear propagation of light, reflection, refraction and total internal reflection, diffraction were demonstrated.

The students showed their own work including investigatory projects they had done. They also showed an award winning project on cleaning of rivers.

Programme Details:

In association with BVN-IAPT ANVESHIKA, Manav Sthali School, R Block, New Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, organized an Interactive workshop for the students of the school.

The objective of the workshop was to ignite the young minds to the wonders of PHYSICS through demonstrations of the concepts using easily available materials so that the students could perform them even at home. It was ‘LEARNING BY DOING AND EXPERIENCING’.

Dr. B.N. Das was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers and a standing ovation of the audience.

Dr. Das then opened his ‘MAGIC BOX’ out of which popped out numerous exhibits and items. He moved around the audience keeping them mesmerized with his talk and innovative experiments and demonstrations. He enthusiastically answered the questions posed by the students. He even painstakingly explained the step by step method of constructing the exhibits too. His explanation of the concepts excited the young minds, leaving deep impressions. The Topics covered were ‘General Physics’, ‘Optics’ ‘Magnetism’ and ‘Electromagnetism’

After the workshop, students crowded round Dr. Das, clearing their doubts on other topics, not wanting to leave the place even though the school bell rang. Then went back enriched in their experience and ignited in their minds.
