Stephon Bobbitt Eisenhower junior wide receiver Caught a team-high 16 touch- down passes on 40 catches. On those catches, he totaled 700 yards for a 17.5-yard average. Sam Bonansinga SHG senior wide receiver/ cornerback The Cyclones’ lone representa- tive on the IFCA All-State team led SHG with 56 catches and 1,034 receiving yards, catching 17 touchdown passes to tie for team lead. The SIU-bound receiver also finished with 47 tackles and three intercep- tions. Bryson Bonds Eisenhower junior running back/linebacker His 134 tackles were second on the team. He was a big factor in helping the Panthers shore up a defense that allowed 76.5 points per game in the first two games and allowed just 26 per contest after that. Joe Brannan Jacksonville senior quarterback Threw for 2,769 yards while com- pleting 189 of 286 passes. He tossed 27 TDs and 14 INTs. He also showed that he was mobile, running for 423 yards and 13 TDs on 97 carries. Tim Brenneisen Sacred Heart- Griffin junior quarterback Had an impressive rookie cam- paign, completing 145 of 220 passes for a 65.9 completion percentage and finished with 2,750 yards and 38 touch- downs while throwing just four interceptions. JacAnthony Childress Lanphier senior slotback Led the team in catches with 25, amounting for 275 yards and three touch- downs. Rushed 21 times for 279 yards and another four TDs. On defense, he had 62 tackles and three interceptions resulting in two TDs. His 58 points were second on the team. He caught six passes for 117 yards and one touchdown. Kendall Dehority Eisenhower senior linebacker Led the defense that allowed two or fewer touchdowns four times this season with 136 tackles. Collin Etherton Rochester senior wide receiver/free safety Accounted for 21 catches and 373 yards on offense and on the other side of the ball, came up with two interceptions and 78 tackles, of which seven went for loss. Roger Dondanville Sacred Heart- Griffin junior linebacker Brought down opponents 82 times, recovered two fumbles and had a 15-yard pick-six interception return in SHG’s 61-38 Class 6A second-round win over Peoria Notre Dame. Sam Sergent Sacred Heart- Griffin senior running back The CS8’s Football Player of the Year ran for 1,701 yards on 171 carries, scoring 26 touch- downs. He caught 17 passes for 275 yards as well. In the quarterfinal loss to Crete- Monee, Sergent threw two touchdown passes, showing why he was also the team’s backup quarterback. Clark Gaden Chatham Glenwood senior linebacker Was co-leader for the Titans with 63 tackles in nine games and finished with two quarterback sacks. Eddie Gailes Southeast senior running back/linebacker Finished with 11 rushing touch- downs — including four in the season finale against MacArthur. Totaled 927 yards on the ground. Defensively, he finished with 61 tackles and had one interception. Christian Lett Rochester senior cornerback Scored touchdowns on both of his interceptions and totaled 39 tackles in the second of his two-year Rochester career. Colton Lockwood Decatur Eisenhower senior wide receiver Caught 61 passes for 1,161 yards and 15 touchdowns and was the Panthers’ most explosive player with an average of 19 yards per catch, culminating in an IFCA All- State selection. D.J. Mackey Sacred Heart- Griffin senior linebacker Led the Cyclones in tackles and it wasn’t even close. His 162 were nearly twice as many as Luke Notz’s 86, which were second on the team. He added two interceptions and recov- ered a fumble. Doug Maroon Sacred Heart- Griffin senior center Protected Brenneisen at QB and opened holes for the SHG run game that accounted for 3,360 yards on 337 carries. All told, SHG had more than 6,100 yards of offense. Dallas McClain MacArthur senior wide receiver Was the Generals’ leading pass catcher with 35 receptions, 604 yards and nine touch- downs. Albert Okwuegbunam SHG senior wide receiver/ defensive end At 6 feet 6, was a huge target for QB Brenneisen and was also a difficult task for defenders to bring down once he caught the ball. Averaged 20.1 yards per catch. After committing to the University of Missouri, he caught 47 passes and scored 17 touchdowns. Noah Pickens Jacksonville senior wide receiver/ defensive back Had 40 catches and 576 yards for seven touchdowns. Defensively had 21 tackles and two pass deflections. Laquan Price Southeast senior offensive guard/defensive tackle Recorded 12 solo tackles and 12 assisted, and while on offense, opened holes on the offensive line for the top three ball carriers to get 1,925 yards. Matt Rooney Jacksonville senior running back Carried the ball 186 times for 1,186 yards and seven touch- downs. He had three 100-plus yard games on the season as part of an offense that threw for nearly 1,000 more yards than it ran. Collin Stallworth Rochester junior wide receiver Led the team in receptions (45), receiving yards (867) and touchdowns caught (13) and was QB Zeigler’s easiest target to find at 6 feet 5. Drake Von Nordheim- Moore Chatham Glenwood senior wide receiver/defensive back Was a two-way threat but did most of his damage defensive- ly with 63 tackles, three fum- ble recoveries and one inter- ception. James White Jacksonville junior wide receiver/ defensive back Led the Crimsons with 73 catches, 1,045 yards and nine receiving touch- downs. He averaged more than 100 yards receiving per game. Tony Williams Springfield High senior running back/safety Tallied 590 yards on 86 carries in seven games for the Senators, scored five touch- downs and recorded 681 yards of total offense — including one touchdown reception. Dan Zeigler Rochester senior quarterback The IFCA All- Stater wrapped up a stellar two-year career by completing 168 of his 265 pass attempts, netting 3,208 yards and 39 touchdowns against five interceptions. Averaged 267 yards per game. He also scored twice on the ground. Brandon Hay Chatham Glenwood junior running back Was the Titans’ biggest all- around offensive threat, rush- ing for 495 yards and five touchdowns on 86 carries and caught 29 passes for 346 yards and six TDs. Also returned nine kicks for 156 yards. Kenny Hedges Rochester senior running back Continued the ever-growing tradition of Rochester running backs putting up big numbers, and finished with 1,478 yards on 221 carries in his only sea- son as the feature back. An IFCA All-State selection, he rushed for 27 touchdowns and scored three more as part of his 10 receptions. Adam Hillis Jacksonville junior linebacker Wrapped up opponents 64 times, including seven tackles for loss and two sacks. Cam Jones Springfield High freshman wide receiver Had a breakout season and is lone freshman on either the all-conference or special men- tion lists. Caught a team-high 23 passes for 11 touchdowns and 428 yards. Returned 19 kickoffs for 382 yards. Brandon Jones Rochester senior center/ defensive line Recovered four fumbles — three while on defense — and was on a line that helped the offense average 496 yards per game. Defensively, he had 30 tackles and 4½ sacks. Reggie Dickerson Lanphier senior running back When healthy, he was a difficult task for any defender to bring down quickly.
