In the meantime, should you have any questions regard- ing the dinner or the golf outing, please contact Briana Gunn at the club office, 630-529-1333. From the Office of the President Celebration The theme this month is “Celebration”. Frankly, I feel like celebrating! 2014 has been a tremendous year. At the Club, we have had tremendous change, significant successes, and some setbacks. I’m sure that could be said of any year, not just this one. Overall, though, I hope that you share my sense of optimism and reflection; that the successes outweighed the setbacks, and the changes were net positive. As I have chronicled this year, we had a number of changes at the Club. On December 3, we announced more changes, as we had our annual Holiday Reception and elected next year’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Your Club has elected a great set of Directors to guide the Club in 2015. I am excited for them and the new ideas and energy that they will bring with them. It has been a privilege to be your President in 2014. I believe the Club is well prepared to sustain our promise to our members and uphold the traditions and values of the past. I am eager to see where next year’s leaders take us. I will be celebrating another successful year for the Club. The Club helped me develop new relationships, helped me deepen friendships, taught me more about Transportation, and was a lot of fun (hard work too)! Thank you for your support this year. I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Sincerely, Craig Boroughf Scholarship Applications Reminder Applications for the Scholarship Com- mittees 2015 awards program were sent to the members in November. Celebration

The theme this month is “Celebration”.

Sincerely,Craig Boroughf

His wife of 64 plus years of mar-riage, Betty McGinn-Welu. and his six children maintained a constant vigil until the end. Ed began his long work relationship in the railroad industry in the early 1950’s when he was hired by the Milwaukee Railroad and assigned the task of loading the refrigeration cars with blocks of ice. From that posi-tion, he advanced his career upwards by training himself as a male stenogra-pher, learning and practicing manage-ment philosophies that later awarded him positions of manager in the traffic division assigned to the Chicago of-fice. when the milwaukee Railroad ceased, Ed was one of the last manag-ers to lock the doors. He eventually continued his railroad career with the Wisconsin Central and SOO line rail-roads before he elected to retire.
