Campaign Co-Chairs are John Parsons, Crooked Creek Investments, and Renzi Stone, Saxum. “Every year, the community comes together to demonstrate its support of the arts and the arts’ impact on youth development, quality of life and economic development,” said Deborah McAuliffe Senner, Allied Arts president and CEO. “Led by co-chairs John Parsons and Renzi Stone, the 2015 campaign will provide an opportunity for individuals and organizations alike to make an investment in our community through support of the arts.” After a review by a volunteer committee, campaign funds are distributed to leading arts organizations. The bulk of campaign funds are allocated to Allied Arts’ 26 member agencies to offset operating costs, underwrite productions, performances and exhibits, create new programming, provide arts education opportunities, and provide free and affordable programming to ensure access to the arts for the entire community. The campaign’s reach extends beyond member agencies, impacting another 20 arts organizations each year. Grants are also awarded to qualified cultural nonprofit agencies to expand the scope and reach of youth arts programming – with a focus on arts education for at-risk, underserved children – and to strengthen fundraising, marketing and technology practices among the cultural community. The annual campaign is also an opportunity to recognize the philanthropic contributions of a local community or corporate leader. In 2015, Allied Arts will recognize the leadership and generosity of Dr. Robert S. Ellis and Nancy Payne Ellis. The Ellises are long-time supporters of Allied Arts, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, as well as several health and social service organizations. On October 24, Allied Arts transformed the OklahomaCity Golf & Country Club into the iconic Hotel ZaZa for OPUS VIII: Party ZaZa. Whimsical touches a la ZaZa included a lip reader, an SNL booth and a hot dog stand as guests left the party. With a sold-out crowd and record-breaking sponsorship, the event proceeds totaled more than $325,000, making this year’s OPUS the most successful fundraising event in Allied Arts history.

The event’s success can be attributed to Robin and Brad Krieger and Valerie and Brad Naifeh, OPUS co-chairs, and their hard-working committee. Special thanks to Laurie and Charlie Givens for lending the ZaZa brand to the party.
