Assumption Catholic School Mission Statement
Assumption Catholic School, a ministry of the Church of the Assumption, provides excellent Catholic Education to students of Whatcom County. A rigorous curriculum is the foundation that nurtures the whole student in body, mind, and spirit. All students are expected to reach their potential, achieve a strong faith in God, go forth, and make a lasting difference in the world.
Thank you!We are delighted to be celebrating Excellence in Body, Mind and Spirit since 1913. Your presence here tonight bears witness to the wonderful work that is being done at the school. We especially want to thank our parents, parishioners, alumni and community supporters who made the special effort to show their support for Catholic education in Whatcom County. By joining us this evening, you are demonstrating your commitment and belief in Catholic education.
Assumption School is a place where students grow not only in knowledge, but in faith. It is this faith in God that forges our children to go out and make a lasting difference. This year in particular we have been focusing on being intentional disciples and becoming community leaders spreading the Good News, by participating in service projects and spreading Christ’s light and joy.
This night would not be possible without the endless efforts and leadership of Angie Krzysiek and Lisa Diefel, our auction co-chairs. We would also like to thank Teri Treat and Monisha Brandt our sponsor co-chairs, for their perseverance and commitment to our school.
May God bless Assumption Catholic School. Please enjoy your evening and help us celebrate Growing Great Kids!

To our Assumption Catholic School Supporters,
Thank you for attending the 15th Annual Growing Great Kids Auction and Gala. We are grateful to have you all here this evening. We come together tonight to support a scholastic community based on excellence in Body, Mind, & Spirit.
It is not possible to describe how much we appreciate the hours that volunteers have committed to making this event a true success. We appreciate everyone’s investment of time and resources. We would like to single out several people for their extraordinary efforts. Teri Treat and Monisha Brandt have done an amazing job of finding sponsors, advertisers, and organizations to underwrite this event. A successful auction only occurs with an exceptional auctioneering team. We are very lucky to have Jeff and Judy Ziels on our team as auctioneer and evening coordinator. Angie King’s outstanding ability to keep up with our data management is deeply appreciated. The talented Phoebe Vanderboom has provided us support and her time whenever needed. And of course, we are very grateful for the confidence that Fr. Scott and Principal Monica Des Jarlais have shown in us. To all of you, we express our deepest gratitude.
So now, for this evening, we ask that you raise your paddles and bid with gusto and enthusiasm. Show how much the children and this school means to all of us!
Blessings to you all,
Angie Krzysiek and Lisa Diefel

Auction Procedures
Guests will be given a bid number upon arrival. Please use your number to bid in the Raffle, Silent Auction, Dessert Auction and Live Auction purchases.
The Silent AuctionYou may bid by writing your bid number next to the price on the bid sheet in front of each item. Bid raises less than the amount specified for each item will be raised to the appropriate level. Guests may guarantee a bid on an item and close the bidding by writing your bid number in the box labeled “Guaranteed Bid” at the bottom of the page.
The Live AuctionPlease carefully read the descriptions and look over all of the Live Auction displays from the time the doors open until the start of the Live Auction. To bid in the Live Auction, show your bid number to the Auctioneer.
A participant’s bid number and bid constitute a legal contract to buy. If the Auctioneer determines that any opening bid is not commensurate with the value of the item being offered, he may reject the bid from any bidder. All sales are final and the Auctioneer’s decisions are final.
All items must be paid for and removed from the Bellingham Golf and Country Club the night of March 7, 2015, unless other arrangements have been made. The school or auction volunteers are not responsible for items once they leave the checkout area.
If guests purchase a service, arrangements for the service are to be made between the purchaser and the donor. Unless otherwise indicated, gift certificates expire one year from the date of purchase or issue date.
Please be generous with your bids. All proceeds directly support Assumption Catholic School. The amount paid for auction items in excess of the donor’s stated value may be tax deductible.

Auction CheckoutAttendees may check out throughout the evening. Look for signs noting the check-out location in the reception area of the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
If you signed up for Express Pay at registration, you will already have your receipts and gift certificates and you may go directly to Item Pick Up located in the reception area (if you have not already received your items).
Cash, personal checks, American Express, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
Dessert AuctionThe lovely dessert display that you no doubt had the pleasure to view is the combined efforts of Whatcom County’s finest chocolatiers and bakers. These decadent pieces will be bid upon at your table.
To ensure you get the “best of the best,” pass the dessert bid card around your table for every bidder to fill in an amount. A volunteer will collect the bid cards and they will be tallied. The table with the highest dollar total will dash first, followed closely by the second, third, etc.
Assumption Catholic School and its volunteers have endeavored to catalog and describe the property correctly, but all property is sold “AS IS.” We neither warrant nor represent, and shall in no event be responsible for the correctness of the description, genuineness, authorship, provenance, or condition of property. No statement contained in the catalog made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed to be such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.

Mother Mary from the Pietà
One of Michelangelo’s first major works was his sculpture of Mother Mary holding the body of Christ after the Crucifixion, a work of astounding realism called the Pietà. Michelangelo’s skill at bringing the stone to life has amazed admirers for centuries. In the Pietà, Mary’s face is calm, pure, radiant, and introspective. Created by the hands of one of the world’s greatest sculptors, the incredible view of Mary’s face has been rendered by Elsa Finkbonner in a beautiful charcoal drawing. This fully-framed drawing is now available to you.
Professionally framed, the actual drawing is 9.5” X 12”, in a 16” X 20” frame.
