Founder & Executive Director

Good evening friends, family and guests! I am pleased to welcome

you to East Harris County Empowerment Council’s 2015 Black Tie

Gala! Words cannot express how grateful we are to each of you for

supporting this event! Your support motivates and inspires us to

dream bigger and move beyond our comfort zones to achieve

what was once considered impossible.

Tonight we gather to commemorate the past and celebrate the

future. Through the collaborative efforts of individuals, groups,

corporations, businesses and organizations, we impacted and

empowered like never before! We see the difference that our

programs are making as a result of friends and supporters like you!

I would also like to take a moment to honor the Leadership Circle of

EHCEC. Your commitment, sacrifices and determination have

resulted in success. At EHCEC, we believe success just like

responsibility is shared! Tonight we share with you what has been

given to us.

Lastly, I want to express sincere appreciation to each individual that

has supported our work through time, talent and treasure. Know that

your gifts are making a difference in the lives of youth and families

across our great community. Words cannot express my gratitude to

you. I’ll just say thank you for being you!

With much appreciation,

Terence T. Narcisse

Our History-Our Journey Here

Established in 2008, East Harris County Empowerment Council was

founded in Crosby, TX. With a goal of making a difference locally,

Bobby Durst, Bwanda Cartwright, Terence Narcisse and Robert

Destin joined forces. Under the careful direction of Mr. & Mrs. Dwight

Judge, the small committee began organizing community events

for children and later a voter registration drive. Over time, the small

group gained its nonprofit status and began establishing

partnerships with interested individuals, caring corporations, service-

oriented schools and compassionate churches. Today, EHCEC

provides services to more than 1,000 people in various forms. EHCEC

is committed to serving, impacting and empowering men, women

and children of East Harris County.

Our Mission-Our Purpose

EHCEC is a leading human service organization committed to

developing people to transform the world. We exist to provide life

enhancing services to youth and families of East Harris County

through educational, social and health programs resulting in self-

sufficient, productive and competent individuals.

Our Vision-What We Envision for the Community

Our vision is to be East Harris County’s premiere provider of human

services; to build a place where people are developed to their full

potential and working together to achieve common goals.
