Get to know your

professors!

“At Fontbonne University, I get

to be that student who knows

all of his professors -- and all

of my professors know me. I

have the opportunity to make

a difference in my school and

make a mark that I will be

remembered by.”

aren’t, it’s extremely

easy to get in touch

For curious, driven students, our

University Major offers the chance

to design, customize and develop

an individualized degree. With

the help of her faculty advisors, Krystal Taylor ’10 (below) combined

pre-law, business and communication.

She is vice president for The Greitens

Group, an organization created by

Eric Greitens, Navy Seal, Rhodes

Scholar, humanitarian, and founder

of The Mission Continues, a nonprofit

assisting veterans.

“Fontbonne is a smaller school,

which makes it easier to have a

voice in the classroom if you’re

confused or need further

guidance . The professors truly

care about the students and

seeing them succeed. They

take advantage of the small

classrooms to give students

projects and opportunities

they might not have in a big

lecture hall-style school.”

Highland, Ill.

Participation in Enactus can also

lead to job and

internship opportunities.

Fontbonne students involved in the

Fontbonne University Enactus Club

helped breathe new life into the

Ferguson Burger Bar. The group teamed

up with owners Charles (below in red

t-shirt) and Kizzie Davis to improve the

restaurant’s business practices, offering

assistance with social media, marketing,

menus and more. Their goals? Livelihood, empowerment and sustainability.

Classes and tests are important, of course. But we believe there’s more to your college experience.

Who you are is just as important

as what you want to be.

you can make it a

Inside and outside the classroom,

you can grow as an individual, a

teammate, a leader, a friend and a

global citizen. At Fontbonne, we

remain grounded in the mission

and strong spirit of our founders,

the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet.

Their values inspire and drive us.

“To me, ‘Learn more. Be more.’

means being the best version of

yourself that you can be . An

education is a powerful thing

that will expand your horizons

if you allow it, and I’ve found

that keeping an open mind and

staying curious may take you

to places you never thought

you would go.”

How can YOU make

a difference?

This is where our entire campus community focuses

on a single topic during the fall semester. It includes speakers,

panel discussions, suggested readings, specialized courses, theater

productions, films and more. Past themes include Sustainability,

Happiness, The Disability Experience, Foodology, Immigrant

Experiences, Civil Rights: Then and Now, and The Future.

www.fontbonne.edu/dedicated

Our students understand that

social changes are occurring

across the country and here in

St. Louis. That’s why we have

“Peace & Justice” conversations

regularly. It’s a chance for the

campus community to gain a

better understanding of the

important issues at stake and the

role we all can play.

The Bosnia Memory Project at Fontbonne University began as an

academic course and evolved into a

nationally recognized effort to record

the stories and memories of the survivors

of the Bosnian War and Genocide, 40,000

of whom have settled in St. Louis.

Students have helped record

interviews, collect archival

materials and amplify the voices

of a community.

“They want us to be more.

They don’t want us just to

come here and learn. They

want us to get involved in the

community. They want us to

get involved around campus.

And they really want us to

be well-rounded individuals

when we graduate.”
