PYP-MYP Program for International Student Assessment - PISA

O ur school started a new type of examinations - PISA (Program for International Student

Assessment) that is an e-assessment for students but is a survey for the rest. It tests the

general knowledge and skills of students. Our class took it up for Mathematics. Science, and Reading

and experienced our first ever e-assessment.

The questions were tricky and they had twists to them. They were not syllabus based which made the

science part of it difficult for me. However, the rest were fairly simple. One problem that many

students faced while doing their assessments was the time constraint. The questions are easy but

lengthy.

Overall, it was a very nice experience and hopefully the results would be informative and tell me where

I stand in the world!

Month 2015-16

W e the students of grade 8 appeared for the PISA exam for Mathematics, Science and Reading

on 25, 26 and 27 April 2017. The Writing exam is slated shortly. The exam was given online

which was a unique experience in itself. It is an international exam that is meant to test our skills and

knowledge in the respective subjects. The result will help us know if we are aligned with the

international expectations of a Grade 8 student.

Since it was a totally new concept we were trained initially by a trial session that boosted our

confidence and helped us tackle the actual question paper.

It was a unique experience and I am happy with the way I timed myself and performed in the exams. I

am confident of a decent score and I hope I will perform well in my Writing paper which will be

conducted on 15 May 2017.
