From the From the Executive DirectorExecutive Director
It is my great pleasure to invite you to attend the 10th Annual Conference on Financial Education on April 1-3, 2015 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. Over the last decade, the Annual Conference has become the premier gathering for fi nancial education professionals to showcase their success stories, network with peers, develop organizational partnerships and hear from speakers willing to share their tips, techniques, and experi-ences for the benefi t of our profession.
As we enter our tenth year, we are making a number of improvements to the Annual Conference to adapt to the changing needs of our industry. Th is year’s conference will provide real-world applications giving fi nancial educators the tools necessary to address the challenges of the fi nancial education fi eld and shape the future of the fi nancial education
In addition to our general sessions, the Annual Conference will again off er three concurrent session tracks that will allow attendees to customize their professional development experience. Th is year’s concurrent session tracks will focus on behavioral economics, program design and development, and outcome assessment. Th ere will be more sessions, with more presentation time, and more networking opportunities than ever before.
I am especially pleased to announce our Keynote Speaker, Ms. Jane Rooney, appointed in April 2014 as Canada’s fi rst Financial Literacy Leader. Her experience with national fi nancial literacy education programs gives her valu-able insights into the opportunities and challenges of fi nancial education, and her participation in international fi nancial education eff orts provides a global context to national, regional and local eff orts to improve fi nancial literacy. Furthermore, as our fi rst international Keynote Speaker, her presence validates the growing internation-al reach of the Annual Conference and our integration with the international fi nancial education community.
I look forward to seeing you in San Antonio. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact my offi ce at (207) 221-3663 or via email at conference@fi nanciallit.org.
