Project: Hikers Lodge, Dreki, Iceland

Study: Comprehensive Design

Design Principles:

Part 1 of an ongoing project re-quires the design of a sustainable hikers lodge in remote Iceland.

Geothermal power station will be used and the excess water will be used as a pool for guests as part of a greater spa.

The building guides the visitor to the ultimate moment, sitting at the edge of the pool overlooking the vast and barren landscape in which they crossed to reach the lodge.

ABOUT MYSELFI have always been interested in Architecture and Urban Plan-ning. Since childhood I have sought to construct buildings and cities in every medium I could get my hands on. I have designed urban regions digitally, hand drawn city maps, crafted wooden citys at home, carved out island cities of sand at the beach and built ice and snow igloos and dwellings on lawns and in forests.

I take this enthusiasm into my Architectural education and workplaces.
