BIG POWER FOR DEEP POWDER.Finding a little solitude is good for the soul. And Xterra® PRO-4X® equipped with 4-Wheel Drive is up for the challenge. Not only is it packed with advanced technologies ready to conquer the trail, it’s also equipped with hard-core 4x4 components. From a fully boxed ladder frame to a locking rear differential, Xterra® PRO-4X® goes where few dare follow.

Locking Rear Differential.2 When 4-Wheel Drive just isn’t enough, activate the available electronic locking rear differential. This technology delivers equal power to both rear wheels to boost traction and help keep your PRO-4X® moving forward. Helping you reach your destination even in the toughest trail conditions.

Hill Start Assist.3 Works on the uphill swing to help prevent rolling backward when you’re starting from a stop on an incline. This available system applies the brakes for a few moments, allowing you time to switch from the brake pedal to the accelerator.

Hill Descent Control.3 What goes up must come down.  PRO-4X®’s available hill descent control automatically adjusts your speed and brake pressure to help keep you going at a controlled speed, freeing you up to concentrate on navi gating difficult off-road situations.

Shift-on-the-fly. Go where the wind – or whim – takes you, with a twist of a dial. Standard on all models, the highly capable Xterra® 4WD system features shift-on-the-fly 4-Wheel Drive with a 2-speed transfer case, so you can go from 2WD to 4H at speeds up to 100 km/h (62 mph).

Squirrel away the small stuff.  A lesson from our bushy-tailed friends – every nook and cranny is a great place to store something. Xterra® makes great use of its interior, with a neat under-floor storage area that keeps valuables out of sight and grunge out of the way. Stretch mesh netting in the cargo area helps keep those little items from rolling around, but still easy to grab when you need them.1

MAN-HANDLE THE BIG STUFF. The Utili-track® Cargo Channel System’s cleats slide and lock into any position, giving you the means to accommodate just about any activity you can think of. Radically versatile in every way. A roof rack starting with 6063-grade aluminum construction and up to 150-lb capacity. The gear box is ventilated for wet, dirty stuff, and removable to make way for larger items. Aerodynamic crossbars open up all kinds of possibilities. Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC). Also known as stability control, VDC monitors your steering and braking to help you maintain your steered path under certain conditions by reducing engine output and/or applying brake pressure to specific wheels.3

Electronic Brake force Distribution/Brake Assist. EBD is designed to send extra force to the rear brakes when there’s additional weight in the back. If you need to slam on the brakes, Brake Assist detects how hard you’re braking, and if it senses you are in an emergency, it will automatically help to apply maximum braking force.4

Traction Control System (TCS).  When TCS senses drive-wheel spin, it responds by reducing throttle or applying brake pressure to help maintain traction.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System. With this feature, when your tire pressure is low, an icon illuminates on your dash to let you know.2
