CONGRATULATIONSThe college enrollment process is an exciting time, and we’re glad you chose to begin your journey at Valpo.

It’s important to review the dates, deadlines, and tips listed in this guide and submit the requested forms by their noted deadlines. This will enable you to receive priority housing placement and course scheduling, and it secures your place in Valpo’s incoming class.

Make yourself at home at the University where students not only fit — they belong. Valpo has more than 70 undergraduate degree options, 19 Division I athletics teams, and a thriving arts program. Become a leader through life-changing community outreach experiences or more than 100 student clubs and organizations. With caring professors and advisors who will mentor you each step of the way, you’ll explore your deepest passions and your life’s purpose as you make a positive difference on campus, in your community, and around the world.

1 FAFSA deadline for Indiana residents

• Financial aid award letters will be mailed to all students who have filed the FAFSA. Award letters are mailed according to the date we receive the results of your FAFSA and will include scholarships, merit aid, and any additional gift aid and loans that are determined by FAFSA results.

• Contact Financial Aid if your particular circumstances are not reflected on the FAFSA. Sometimes a family’s situation can’t accurately be described on the FAFSA: costly illness or injury, death of a family member, divorce, loss of income or employment, a sibling’s private school tuition, etc. Valpo’s Financial Aid staff works with families to factor these circumstances into our aid awards. Please contact Financial Aid to discuss any special circumstances you might have.

23 Fall semester classes begin

VISIT VALPOThere’s no better way to experience what it’s like to be a Valpo student than by visiting campus. You can attend a customized Personal Visit, one of our Visit Days, a Valpo Overnight Visit, or an Admitted Student Day. Go to valpo.edu/visit or contact your admission counselor for more information.

FILE THE FAFSA• File online at fafsa.gov after Jan. 1.

• Obtain a Federal FSA username and password at this same website for electronic signing of your FAFSA. Your parent will also need a FSA username and password.

• Indiana residents: file FAFSA by March 1 to be eligible for state grants. (Must be received by federal processor by March 10.)

• Include Valpo’s federal school code on the form: 001842.

• Your application for admission was the first step needed to apply for most Valpo-specific academic scholarships. All students, regardless of family income, are also encouraged to file the FAFSA for maximum award consideration, which can include additional Valpo gift aid, state and federal grants, loans, and more.

SUBMIT HOUSING AND TUITION DEPOSIT FORM (form enclosed)

• Once you commit to Valpo, secure your place in Valpo’s entering class as well as your place in a residence hall.

• Secure your financial aid award package.

• Go to valpo.edu/admission/admitted to complete this form.

FOCUS – NEW-STUDENT ORIENTATION Your college experience begins with Valpo’s required new-student orientation program. At FOCUS, you will meet classmates, register for your first classes, and learn about Valpo’s campus. Watch your mailbox for upcoming FOCUS dates.

SUBMIT HEALTH FORM BY JULY 1

• Information about the Health Center, including the Health Form, will be mailed to you separately in spring 2016.

• Visit valpo.edu/admission/admitted to print the information and form.
