The Bowdon Story
For generations, Bowdon Schools have been the cornerstone of our community, offering students individualized classroom instruction and premier leadership in safe, secure learning environments. We’re unique in our ability to maintain a close-knit, family-oriented atmosphere, while also providing students with advanced technology and a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities. We believe in building character, relationships and friendships that last a lifetime. We are committed to partnering with parents, businesses and the community to offer a premier learning experience. Preparing students for life-long success in an ever-changing world is our mission, and helping them achieve their goals is our passion. Every student who attends Bowdon Schools is part of something special—A Tradition of Excellence.
Bowdon Cluster Report Bowdon Schools serve approximately 1,400 students in the southwest portion of Carroll County. The Bowdon Cluster includes Bowdon Elementary, Bowdon Middle and Bowdon High School. Students who attend Bowdon Schools have unique opportunities to excel in academics, arts and athletics, while also learning leadership skills and building character. The Bowdon Cluster is part of the Carroll County School District, which is located 50 miles west of Atlanta. The District offers premier educational opportunities to approximately 14,700 students throughout its 23 schools and two College and Career Academy sites. The Carroll County School District’s mission is to develop globally competitive college and career ready graduates. The District takes pride in the impact it has on the citizens of Carroll County and is focused on the long-term success of the students, staff and communities it serves.

The Georgia Milestones Assessment system is in its second year of implementation in the state. These new assessments are more rigorous in assessing students’ mastery of the state curriculum Bowdon Elementary School showed improvement in 5 out of 12 academic areas from year one to year two of the implementation of this new system. Additionally, Bowdon Elementary showed improvement in two out of three Lexile reading measures.

Graduation Rate and Dual Enrollment Improvement
Bowdon High School continues to be a leader in the graduation of students. Additionally, Bowdon High School continues to increase the number of students who are either dually enrolled in a post-secondary class or are taking Advanced Placement classes at Bowdon High School.

Cluster Highlights
The Bowdon Cluster Schools focus on creating a unique child-centered approach to educating students while emphasizing the importance of family, school pride, character and responsibility. Bowdon Cluster Schools work together to offer students a variety engaging learning opportunities. The Cluster held a STEAM night, Fine Arts Night, Cluster Tailgate, Cluster Graduation Initiative, Summer Arts Camp and Summer Robotics Camp.
