Investigations Manager 28 September 2009 – current
Managing a team of investigators considering complaints about
Parliamentary departments. My team specifically but not solely focus on
complaints about the Ministry of Justice and its Departments; the
Department of Health; the Care Quality Commission; Regulators;
the Department of Education. On a smaller scale we investigate
agencies such as the Environment Agency, the Forestry Commission
and other bodies who fall under the responsibility of DEFRA
Lead Casework responsibility for relationship management with strategic
partners and stakeholders within my area of responsibility.
This has included lead responsibility for complaints about the Victims Code -
including contributing to the CJS Working Group on the Victims Code.
Managing the allocation, consideration and investigation of complaints
under my area of responsibility. Ensuring that my investigators produce
efficient proportionate consistent evidence based investigations which meet
customer service standards and business targets.
Performance Management - Monitoring and reviewing progress against
individual and team targets. Highlighting Achievements and identifying
issues affecting delivery of the business plan and strategic goals.
Ensuring through quality assurance that audit trails are followed
and investigations are consistent across the organisation.
Responsible for managing and documenting risk in casework across the
investigation team, ensuring that mitigating actions are in place to prevent
risk occurring and escalating when appropriate.
Supporting and managing change positively internally and externally.
Supporting the values of the Ombudsman and positively contributing
to the Service Charter.
