In the context that “food safety is a common challenge facing the world to which no nation is immune”, Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST) and International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) have jointly held the International Forum on Food Safety (IFoFS) in Beijing for six years since 2010 with the strong support of China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Industry and Information and so on. By virtue of the efforts and accumulation in the past years, IFoFS has become the brand conference in the food sector and been highly recognized by the sectors at home and abroad.
IFoFS is committed to service and problem solving. It has explored the whole industrial chain risk communication in depth in the recent six years based on risk management, the heart of food safety management, and created the opinion basis for fundamentally changing the information imbalance between consumers and food producers and regulators. IFoFS summarizes the five challenges in food safety and the response measures, and calls to "enhance public dissemination on food safety and maintain social stability". It fully demonstrates that the forum is "high-end, scientific, and perspective". In this process, the scientific community has reached a consensus - maintaining the national image in food safety with the scientific spirit, assuming important responsibility in addressing food safety issues, and keeping the stable and sound momentum.
In the vitality of April, we will usher in IFoFS 2016 with new hope. Experts and intellects in food safety around the world will come together during April 12-15 in Beijing and form a high-end think tank to address major fields of food industry
