2016 Media II, III Journalism Final Project With graduation just a few short weeks away, it’s time to use your journalism skills to celebrate the Class of 2016. You will produce a 16-page news magazine that we’ll present to each member of the class on their last day. The goals of this assignment are listed below: Work together as a team to complete this task on time. Capitalize on the strengths of the group to complete the task. Apply what you’ve learned about writing, layout, design and photography in journalism. Use your skills to create a product that will be a special memory for the Class of 2016 with very limited help from Mrs. Sitler. 2016 Journalism Issue Instructions You will create the “2016 Journalism Issue” that showcases your writing and design abilities. A copy of this 16-page magazine will be given to each graduating senior. Project Steps: 1. Project location will be Saved in Y drive News Magazine=> End of Year Projects => Underclassmen Final a. Save all of your photos and text in the correct folder. b. Projects should be labeled by student and last name. i. Ex. finktext_ sitler 2. Assignments/Quote Sheets a. Meet with Mrs. Sitler to determine your pages. b. As a group, create a senior questionnaire to pass out to each senior to fill out. c. Interview your student and use their answers plus the quote sheets to write articles 3. Progress Check/Photos a. Collect photos of your senior and the class to use for the Year In Review Page b. Get at least one “well wish” and photo for each senior that you’re assigned to cover.
