Dear Friend,

Its hard to believe that the financial crisis that affected so many homeowners and communities throughout the country started 8 years ago. While foreclosure rates are down and people are back to work, there are still thousands of people that are forced to live in substandard single-family housing. Even though they are working, their wages haven’t risen, their medical bills are increasing, and ultimately, they cannot afford the critical repairs and modifications needed for their homes to be safe and healthy. The luxury of a home and the American Dream is still not affordable.

This was the case for the Vang family. But last year, because of the support of a sponsor like you, we were able to replace their roof and gutters. Their basement has since dried up, and their children are experiencing fewer respiratory problems. Now they spend less on repairs and medical bills leaving money for other important expenses. The Vangs say, “It is such a blessing and relief to know that the roof will keep the house dry. Thank you.”

For more than 18 years Rebuilding Together Twin Cities has been working tirelessly to ensure that each of our low-income neighbors live in a safe and healthy home and community. We work with sponsors, material donors, and volunteers to turn every $1 that is invested in our organization into a $3 value for our community.

This work cannot be done without the compassion, enthusiasm and support of companies like yours. This year, we can preserve affordable homeownership together. Sponsor Rebuilding Together Twin Cities and make a difference for families throughout our community.

Sincerely,

Kathy Greiner, Executive Director

Every year, hundreds of Rebuilding Together Twin Cities’ volunteers put hammers, saws and paintbrushes to work to secure the safety, warmth and independence of dozens of qualified low-income homeowners.

This year, we invite you to become a Twin Cities, Community, Block, or Neighbor ReBuilder. This mutually-beneficial partnership will not only get your employees engaged in the community, but will bring positive press and marketing opportunities for your company.

To ensure Livability, Accessibility and Community for our neighbors in the Twin Cities, we work hard to pair sponsors with projects, in hopes of meeting both the sponsor’s and client’s needs. We work to train and ensure that volunteers have everything they need to accomplish as much as they can, working on those projects that are of utmost priority.

This work gives insight into our community and provides teambuilding opportunities for the volunteers that are onsite.

We encourage partnering teams to identify the following volunteer leaders:

House Captain: Works closely with the Construction Supervisor to plan the work day. Ensures that all volunteers are equipped to do their assigned task.

Homeowner Liaison: Works closely with the homeowner to ensure that they have a voice and are comfortable on the project day.

Volunteer Coordinator: Works with House Captain to assign volunteers to tasks and make sure they are comfortable on the project day.
