Kansas State University graduate students are recognized for their accomplishments and contributions through the awards listed below. These awards are coordinated by the Graduate School, Alumni Association, O�ce of the Provost, K-State Chapter of Golden Key, Council of Graduate Schools, and the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS).

GSC and MAGS Awards for Graduate Student Teaching ExcellenceThe GSC Award for Graduate Student Teaching Excellence recognizes one master’s and one doctoral GTA who have excelled in classroom teaching. Recipients of the GSC teaching award serve as Kansas State University's nominees for the annual MAGS Excellence in Teaching Award.

MAGS/ProQuest Distinguished Thesis Award Award DeadlineMAGS/ProQuest Distinguished Thesis AwardThis award recognizes a thesis that contains original work and makes an unusually signi�cant contribution to the discipline. The e�ective date of degree award must fall in the period of July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2016, inclusive. Master’s students in Social Sciences and Engineering/Math/Physical Sciences are eligible for the current award year.

Presidential Awards for Excellence inUndergraduate TeachingThese awards recognize and reward excellence in teaching performance in the undergraduate program. Four awards are made each year, and one of these awards will go to a GTA. Coordinated by the O�ce of the Provost.

Alumni Association AwardsGraduate Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service – Awarded to a graduate student who has made an impact by serving and leading the graduate student population. Graduate Award for Outstanding Academics – Awarded to a graduate student who has contributed to his/her academic �eld of study. Tony Jurich Award – Honors a graduating graduate student who has demonstrated a commitment to community leadership and service through Jurich’s Core Leadership Tenets.

Alvin and RosaLee Sarchek Predoctoral Honors Fellowship and Travel Awards in Molecular Biology Award DeadlineThese awards recognize PhD candidates who have excelled in scholastics and research that relies signi�cantly on one or more contemporary molecular biological techniques. Students must show evidence of e�ective communication of research results through publications in leading journals and presentations at national and international meetings.

$17,000 to one fellowship recipient$1,000 each to up to three travel award recipients

University Distinguished ProfessorsGraduate Student Award Award DeadlineThe award recognizes PhD candidates who demonstrate excellence in scholarship through publications and other accomplishments appropriate for his or her academic �eld. Eligible students must be admitted to candidacy, entering the last year of his or her program, be enrolled in Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 and plan to graduate in May or August 2016.

CGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award Award DeadlineThis award recognizes dissertations representing original work that make an unusually signi�cant contribution to the discipline. Doctoral students in Social Sciences and Engineer-ing/Math/Physical Sciences are eligible for the current award year.
