Student Success Build Your CV with Awards and Honors Kansas State University graduate students are recognized for their accomplishments and contributions through the awards listed below. These awards are coordinated by the Graduate School, Alumni Association, Office of the Provost, K-State Chapter of Golden Key, Council of Graduate Schools, and the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS). More information at: k-state.edu/grad/students/awards/ GSC and MAGS Awards for Graduate Student Teaching Excellence The GSC Award for Graduate Student Teaching Excellence recognizes one master’s and one doctoral GTA who have excelled in classroom teaching. Recipients of the GSC teaching award serve as Kansas State University's nominees for the annual MAGS Excellence in Teaching Award. Award Deadline $ 500 scholarship to each GSC awardee $750 honorarium if selected for MAGS award Sept. 23 - Department heads/chairs to submit to college deans Oct. 7 - College deans submit to Graduate School Oct. 26 - K-State nominees for MAGS selected by review committee MAGS/ProQuest Distinguished Thesis Award Award Deadline MAGS/ProQuest Distinguished Thesis Award This award recognizes a thesis that contains original work and makes an unusually significant contribution to the discipline. The effective date of degree award must fall in the period of July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2016, inclusive. Tony Jurich Award – Honors a graduating graduate student who has demonstrated a commitment to community leadership and service through Jurich’s Core Leadership Tenets. Alvin and RosaLee Sarchek Predoctoral Honors Fellowship and Travel Awards in Molecular Biology Award DeadlineThese awards recognize PhD candidates who have excelled in scholastics and research that relies signi�cantly on one or more contemporary molecular biological techniques. Students must show evidence of e�ective communication of research results through publications in leading journals and presentations at national and international meetings.

$17,000 to one fellowship recipient$1,000 each to up to three travel award recipients

University Distinguished ProfessorsGraduate Student Award Award DeadlineThe award recognizes PhD candidates who demonstrate excellence in scholarship through publications and other accomplishments appropriate for his or her academic �eld. Eligible students must be admitted to candidacy, entering the last year of his or her program, be enrolled in Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 and plan to graduate in May or August 2016.
