My experience has taught me a range
of things from appropriate behavior in
an office environment to creating my
very first flyer! This program has
allowed me to further my understanding
of the field of nursing and has given me
insight into how to be a successful
nursing student in the future!

Future Plans: To be come a Nurse Practitioner

Catherine CesaUpward Bound- Math & Science
Intern – Western Campus
My internship has allowed me to
interact with native Spanish speakers
and to relate to ESL students in the
Upward Bound Program. Additionally, I
am learning to use new computer
programs and have become more
confident in using MS Word and Excel in
an office environment.
Major: Associate of Arts- Spanish
Future Plans: Catherine will be transferring to
CSU to pursue a degree in Education. Her long-
term goal is to become a Spanish professor at a
community college.

I have loved being an intern with the
Upward Bound program because I was
once a student in the Upward Bound
Program!! I love getting to give back to
the students and mentor them like I
was mentored through this program. I
have found my passion which is helping
people realize their dreams.

Working in Student Support Services is
a great opportunity for me because I

projects has been to go and talk with

Quentin BensonAccess and Community Engagement
Intern – Metropolitan Campus
I have really liked my internship
because I have gotten to work with kids.
This has taught me to be organized and
detailed as possible. Working with kids
has make me realize that you have to
have a plan and then, like, five other
plans in case the first plan doesn’t work
out! It’s great though!

Future Plan: Teaching art in some way. Hopefully
at the college level so that I can work at Tri-C as
a Black American Council Mentor.

Metropolitan Campus
The Upward Bound Program is really
special. This poster is one of my first
assignments. I am not really an arts
and crafts type but I am really proud of
it. My supervisors and staff challenge
me to get out of my comfort zone. The
best part of my internship is that I get to
help with a variety of ways.

Future Plans: To continue on and obtain a
medical degree in Pediatric Neurology

My internship experience has been
really great. This internship has helped
me learn about working as part of a
team and in a formal office
environment. I am so thankful that I
was chosen to be a part of this

My internship is going really well. I am
currently working on a video for the
Cleveland Police Reform, and I am the
director! This project has taught me a
lot about leadership and how to direct
and supervise a crew. I just love this
whole experience, it’s difficult to choose
one favorite part of my job!

My experience as an intern in the ABLE
department was great. I had the
opportunity to see how things moved
behind the curtain and of helping
people enroll in orientations. I have
learned quite a lot about the ABLE
department and that working behind a
desk is not an easy job. It requires a lot
of patience and good interpersonal
skills.

My summer Intern Program was fairly amazing. It was a great experience working with a lot of very wonderful professionals. The most challenging experience was to start working with the others, as an international student I always thought I would feel uncomfortable in my working environment. Working with people in this department, make it way more delightful than I expected.

location such as Universal Studios or Myrtle
Beach.

My experience working in the President's Office was beneficial in my personal development. From answering phone calls, aiding staff and students with their concerns and/or requests, to being of assistance to the staff of Dr. Thomson. I really enjoyed the environment and the process. My favorite part of this experience was getting the unique opportunity to have a face to face conversation with Dr. Thomson almost every day.

Future Plans: I will transfer to Case Western Reserve University to study Computer Science. After I graduate with a BS in CS, I will attend Yale, Harvard, or Columbia School of Law.
Alicia KurtzABLE/GED Intern – Eastern

The most challenging aspect of this
summer internship is probably building
communication skills. I’ve learned how
to be better organized. I came into this
experience thinking that I knew enough
about it. This taught me that I still can
learn so much about how to organize
things properly.

Future Plans: After I get my associates degree I
plan on attending a four-year university to study
Botany.

My favorite part of this experience is I get
to know all kinds of interesting people. By
attending sales meetings and business
events, I'm able to establish strong
communicating skills. I will be graduating
in couple of weeks, I believe what I
learned from the summer internship
would be a bonus in job hunting.

My SIP experience has been great. It was so nice to be able to make new friends, learn new skills, and improve upon the skills that I already have. Learning how to use computer programs like Microsoft Excel was a plus, too. I also was able to improve on my time management and customer service skills.

The best part about the internship is that it allowed me to be myself, but to also learn how to conduct myself in a more professional manner. I have learned that even when I may set certain high expectations for myself, that they may not always go as planned. Balancing out my class and work was hard for me to do during the summer, but I managed to do both.

I was able to expand my knowledge regarding technology and graphic design, while also learning strategies for problem-solving and group collaboration. skills and abilities, so most of the time I
would be sent alone to do a certain task
and I always completed it perfectly and
on time.
