New base module samos® PRO COMPACT PLUS Motion functions integrated into the samos® PRO COMPACT safety controller Wieland Electric has now integrated the most important functions for speed, rotation direction and position monitoring into the safety controls of the samos®

PRO COMPACT range. The new base module, samos® PRO COMPACT PLUS, now possesses safety functions such as standstill monitoring, SLS (Safety Limited Speed), SDI (Dafe Direction), SSR (Safe Speed Range), SSM (Safe Speed Monitoring) and SLP (Safely Limited Position) at SIL 3 / PLe in accordance with EN 61800-5-2 for start-up and maintenance of machinery. Several functional components with different thresholds are available. An extra motion module, standstill monitor or speed monitor is therefore no longer necessary, which saves costs and space in the control cabinet. samos® PRO COMPACT PLUS offers quick and safe inputs of up to 70 kHz, as well as up to 20 safe inputs and 8 safe outputs over a width of 45 mm. Initiators and HTL incremental encoders can be directly connected. The new safe rotary encoder of the SENC range from Wieland Electric offers a perfect solution package together with samos® PRO COMPACT PLUS up to SIL 3 and PLe. The safety control module can also be expanded up to 168 safe inputs and outputs or 12 modules as needed. The housings of the samos® PRO COMPACT modules with a rail mount latching mechanism now all have samos® PRO expansion modules for better assembly or disassembly. No additional module is needed for PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP communication thanks to the fully integrated industrial protocols (PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP). Appropriate gateway modules are also available for the industrial fieldbuses PROFIBUS DP, CANopen and EtherCAT. The parameterisation of communication is carried out via the samos® PLAN 6 security software. The planning of each network integration project is also simplified thanks to the intuitive gateway configuration menu.
