WEATHER EMERGENCIESShould inclement weather or any other emergency require can-cellation of school, the District provides information using thelocal cable channel 43, Verizon Fios 34, Comcast 968 and otherTV channels; the District website; and an automated telephonecalling system. The information may also appear on TV newsoutlets. The number "301" designates the Abington School Dis-trict and designates closing. KYW will no longer announce onthe radio; however, they will post school closing numbers on theirwebsite. In the event that school is on a two-hour delayed open-ing, students are to report to school or to their bus stops twohours later than their usually scheduled time. When a two-hourlate arrival for a weather emergency coincides with an early dis-missal day, the early dismissal is cancelled and will be resched-uled. Should weather conditions develop during the day thatwould make bus travel dangerous, we will dismiss school early. That decision will be disseminated through the same channelsof communication utilized for a late arrival. To prepare for thepossibility of an unplanned early dismissal, parents andguardians should arrange an alternate place for their children togo in the event that no one is at home.
QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS? Parents/Guardians often wonder where to turn with a question ora concern re garding their child or other school issues. Starting "toohigh up the ladder" often requires information backtracking andcan leave valuable allies out of the loop. When you are not happywith a particular answer or solution, where do you go? Here aresome handy guidelines to use:

2. If you have not been able to resolve your problem with theteacher, go next to the principal or supervisor who usually willbe able to resolve your problem or refer you to the right person.
3. If you still cannot resolve your problem, call or write the Superintendent’s Office. The telephone number is (215) 881-2500; the address is Abington School District, 970 Highland Avenue, Abington, PA 19001.
