The judging process

The judging panel will assess all applications and select a shortlist to proceed through to further stages, which will include telephone and face to face assessments. Finalists will also be required to submit their total active client list to an independent research and benchmarking company for the purpose of a client survey. Ultimately three finalists will be selected for this Award and they will be required to attend a full day judging showcase, to be held in Sydney in September (travel and accommodation costs will be paid for by the Award partner).

The Award winner will be announced at the Gala Dinner of the AFA 2017 National Adviser Conference on the Gold Coast, 11-13 October 2017.

AFA membership

Applicants who progress to finalist stage of the 2017AFA Adviser of the Year Award are expected to be current AFA members. You can join online at www.afa.asn.au or by contacting the AFA on 1800 656 009.

Award eligibility

• You can only enter one award and your application will be assessed against the criteria for the award you have selected

• Previous winners of the AFA Practice of the Year Award are eligible to apply for the 2017 AFA Adviser of the Year Award

• Previous finalists may apply for either award, however the maximum number of consecutive applications from finalists is two in two years for the same award

d. Site visits, client survey and compliance audits conducted 14 August - 5 September 2017

The 2017 AFA Adviser of the Year Award will be presented to the best adviser as measured against a diverse range of criteria.
