WELCOME TO CAMP MEETING 2017

A Message from the President

Our Camp Meeting theme this year is First Things First - God First. In His sermon on the Mount of Olives, Jesus made several declarations. Among them was His appeal for His people to “seek first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” Matt. 6:33. Jesus saw that His people were anxiously waiting and watching for Him to build some earthly kingdom. While He was preaching to them of their heav-enly treasures, they were wondering how their connection with Him would improve their worldly prospects. Jesus told them that when they made the world their supreme concern, that they were acting like the heathen na-tions around them, and living as if there were no God in their lives. He told them “All these things do the nations of the world seek after. Your father knows that you have needs,” but He beckons you to put first things first, and to make God first. Jesus appealed to them to open their hearts to receive His Kingdom, and to make its service their highest interest. That if they gave themselves to God’s service, He who has all power in heaven and earth would provide for their needs. He teaches us to make Him first, last and best in everything. That we should engage in no business, follow no pursuit, seek no pleasure, or personal agenda that would hinder the outworking of His righteousness in our characters and in our lives. He has taught us that the precious things of the hills will perish, but the soul that lives for Him shall abide forever—1 John 2:17. On behalf of the Bermuda Conference leadership, we welcome and encour-age you to make full use of this spiritual feast called Camp Meeting, and to make first things first, by making God and His interest first, best, and last in your lives.

Dr. Kenneth Manders

CHRIST IS ALL

I don’t possess houses or land, fine clothes or jewelry. Sorrows and cares in this old world my lot seems to be.

But I have a Christ, who paid the price way back on Calvary, And Christ is all, all and all this world to me.

CHORUS Christ is all, He’s everything to me.

Christ is all, He rules the land and sea. Christ is all, and without Him nothing could be,

Christ is all, all and all this world to me.

There are some folk who look and long for this world’s riches. There are some folk who look for power, position too. But I have a Christ, all in my life this keeps me happy.

For Christ is all, He’s all and all this world to me.

CHORUS Christ is all, He’s everything to me.

Christ is all, He rules the land and sea. Christ is all, and without Him nothing could be,

Christ is all, all and all this world to me.

Yes, Christ is all means more to me than this world’s riches. He’s my sight, my guiding light through pathless seas.

Yes, it’s mighty nice to own a prize, Who will my friend be?

For Christ is all, He’s all and all this world to me.

At the tender age of 3, Mark was overheard singing in harmony with his older brother. Uncertain of what was taking place, Mark’s mother entered the room asking if the melodious sounds were coming from the radio. Henceforth, a seed was planted and began to take root, developing an undeniable passion for music.

Born into a musically inclined family, by age 4, Mark was a member of the group, The 3M’s, con-sisting of his siblings. As he developed, so did his vocal ability and range allowing him to scale from baritone to soprano with ease. In time, Mark would add writing and arranging music to his skill set. In his teems, he received recognition for his talents by winning Best Male Soloist at the National Gospel Competition for High Schools. He ahs also been humbled by opportunities to share the stage with Wintley Phipps, CeCe Winans, Richard Smallwood, Karen Clark-Sheard, the late Daryl Coley and a host of other gospel greats.

Mark has appeared on the Word Network, Three Angels Broadcasting Network, Date to Dream Net-work ad the Hope Channel. The theme song for the radio show Gospel Revelations aired on WFDU 89.1fm was written and sung by Mark. He currently has 2 albums. The first project, entitled “My Testimony”, is one filled with Mark’s impassioned message that with God you can find peace and joy no matter what you are going through. The second project, entitled “Refashioned Hymns” is a collection of well-known songs that have been an inspiration to may and continue to be a source of encouragement to people along their Christian journey. In addition, he is working on a new project, entitled “Way Out of New Way.” His desire is to use the music to bring hope to people everywhere in these perilous times.

Mark accredits his spiritual and musical inspiration to both God and his mother, Sister Beatrice Prentice. Blessed with remarkable musical abilities and a persevering drive to spread the Good News of a Loving Savior, Mark is excited about all that God has in store for him.
